T-Mobile has a simple way to draw you into its stores: it's straight-up bribing you with free food. The carrier is partnering with Taco Bell on "T-MoBell" (yes, we know) pop-up stores at signature T-Mobile locations in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York City between July 23rd and July 25th. Anyone who attends will get free tacos, special T-MoBell Freeze drinks (aka white cherry) and branded merch like socks and stick-on phone wallets. The two are even courting celebrity chasers with promises of "special guests" at each location, such as The Bachelor's Colton Underwood in Chicago.

For those whose food cravings can only be sated by Taco Bell's "unique" brand of "Mexican" dishes, we have some good news: the chain is now offering delivery across the US through a partnership with GrubHub. Taco Bell has dabbled in delivery before, in collaboration with DoorDash, but today's partnership will greatly expand that delivery area -- basically, if you live near a Taco Bell, you can get food delivered. Not all restaurants are participating, but it sounds like it shouldn't be hard to find one.

Got a hankering for Taco Bell but just can't bring yourself to wait the 3.5 minutes it takes to slop your order together? Well, you're in luck. The fast food franchise chain recently debuted a new, faster way to order your Chalupas: no, not your mobile phone, the internet!

  • Taco Bell's new app makes it easy for you to order on the go

Earlier today, Taco Bell's site and social networks went completely dark, making some curious people wonder what the fast food chain had up its sleeve. This time, however, it wasn't a Doritos-infused taco or a fresh breakfast menu of sorts. Instead, Taco Bell introduced an all-new mobile application, which allows iOS and Android users to place orders and pay directly from their smartphone. But in case this wasn't enough, the app will let you customize various menu items and, by using location services, pick them up whenever you're close to your location of choice. Taco Bell says it won't make the food until customers arrive, this way it will taste just as fresh as they had imagined it -- simply put, the popular chain wants everyone to "skip the in-store line like you own the place." Assuming you can handle the aftermath of a Taco Bell meal, the app is a pretty good idea.

  • Taco Bell to unveil cutting-edge mobile ordering system, and other news for Feb. 14, 2014

Taco Bell is getting ready to launch a cutting-edge mobile-ordering system for the iPhone later this year, reports Nation's Restaurant News. The company already has an existing iOS app, but the new one, which has been in development for more than two years, will allow hungry customers to order and pay for food directly from their iPhone. The app opens first to the menu, but then immediately allows guests to find their closest Taco Bell, so pricing specific to that location appears, as well as hours and directions. Customers can customize menu selections, and the app offers "smart upsell" opportunities, suggesting a drink or dessert, for example, if the user hasn't ordered one. Users can save their favorite orders, customized to their liking, for next time. Guests can load Taco Bell gift cards or use their credit cards to pay. The order goes directly to the restaurant's POS system and appears on the kitchen display system specifically as a mobile order. To ensure that the food is prepared hot when the guest arrives, the system uses a GPS locator to recognize when the person placing the order is near, giving the kitchen a signal to fire the order. The guest then has the option of in-store pick up or using the drive thru - but they don't have to make that decision until they arrive at the restaurant. If the drive thru line is long, for example, they can tap "in-store" pickup and go inside. Jenkins said a separate pick up window for mobile orders will be available to allow those guests to avoid the line. The company believes its mobile ordering system will be as significant as the drive thru. Taco Bell has not announced a global rollout date, but many customers should be able to try it by the end of the year. In other news: Apple has distributed another US$2.6 billion worth of dividends to shareholders of record yesterday. Shareholders received $3.05 for every AAPL share they owned. The next dividends distribution will be in May. Rovio has announced Angry Birds Stella, which will feature female lead characters. Four US senators have introduced The Smartphone Theft Prevention Act, a bill which would require smartphone manufacturers to build a "kill switch" into each and every phone. The kill switch would allow a user to wipe the stolen phone remotely and make it completely inoperable, rendering it all but worthless to a thief.

Sony is giving away some PlayStation 4 consoles in a deal with Taco Bell running from September 26 to November 10, five days before the system officially launches. From these dates, every PS4-branded Big Box or $5 Buck Box will come with a code to text in and potentially win a PS4 prize pack including the console, a one-year membership to PlayStation Plus and a copy of Knack. There's a winner every 15 minutes, the program promises. Last year, Sony ran a similar campaign before the Vita launched, but with three options to win, including playing a mobile mini-game or embarrassing yourself in a video online. "Following the positive response from the gaming community for the PS Vita campaign last year, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with Taco Bell to tap into the excitement as we prepare to launch PS4 on November 15," SCEA Senior VP of Brand Marketing Guy Longworth said. So gear up for some gobbling and ... OK, we tried to get through this without mentioning it, but is that $5 box really called the "Five dollar buck box?" Really? That seems awfully convoluted for a company that prides itself on speed.

As part of a new promotion, Taco Bell has announced a sweepstakes offering three ways to win a PlayStation Vita. The good news: only one of the three involves eating at Taco Bell. From January 26 through March 11, Taco Bell will serve a crispy, cheesy PlayStation Vita to a lucky winner every 15 minutes(!). Winners will receive a 3G Vita, Little Deviants, a 4GB memory card and their choice of ModNation Racers, MLB 12 the Show, or LittleBigPlanet. You can find out if you're a winner either by buying a "$5 Buck Box" (yes, with the redundant dollar sign and "buck") and entering a code from the box online, playing the "Reality Fighters Dojo" minigame found within the Taco Bell mobile app, or submitting a photo or video online in which you debase yourself by "boasting" about what you'd do for a Vita.

  • Taco Bell to serve up free WiFi and in-store TV, keep you LOL'ing through Fourthmeal

The border runners at Taco Bell have fallen behind the ginger clown and his posse of hamburger-loving friends in terms of connectivity, but the fast food franchise will soon rectify that with the introduction of free WiFi at 5,600 locations over the next four years. In an attempt to keep you connected whilst stuffing your face with Beefy Melt Burritos, Taco Bell has teamed up with Indoor Direct to bring in-store WiFi and a specially branded TV network to the chain. Diners will apparently be encouraged to interact with content running on the network, with enticements to download free music, receive opt-in text messages, and engage in social media campaigns. Sounds like the perfect opportunity to resurrect that pot-stirring little chihuahua.

Get ready, true believers! News has come down the wires today that Gazillion's Super Hero Squad Online has officially headed into closed beta. What this also means is that with this announcement, the open beta for this family-friendly MMO is one step closer. Hopefully, it also means that we'll be seeing some forward momentum on the other (read: more adult) Marvel MMO, which Gazillion has indicated is under development as well. For those not familiar, Super Hero Squad Online is based on the saturday morning cartoon, The Super Hero Squad Show, which has introduced the Marvel characters to a whole new generation. SHSO will be releasing as a free-to-play game with an optional subscription to unlock more content -- no word on the price point, currently. Another thing of note is that the game will be playable via browser, offering players a fast in to the action without exorbitant pre-downloads. A promotional comic for Super Hero Squad Online is also available at Taco Bell, which gives a bit of story and offers up a code for an "exclusive super-hero" according to Gazillion's release. So, if your kids -- or you -- would like to hero up with Super Hero Squad Online, head over to the official site and get signed up. Excelsior! %Gallery-93313%

  • The Game Archaeologist's fear and loathing in the Kingdom: Joshing with Jick

Here at the Game Archaeologist Labs, we've been dissecting just what it takes to make a hit MMO that defies normal conventions -- a homemade startup that loves its wordplay long time even in an age when only about 12% of internet forum posters are fully literate. Kingdom of Loathing is an anomaly for all these reasons and more, and yet it's succeeded when MMOs boasting $100+ million budgets have bit the dust. Like Batman and Robin, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, Taco Bell and grease, and "That's what" and "she said," the two creators of Kingdom of Loathing are absolutely inseparable. Where there is Jick, there is Mr. Skullhead, and vice-versa. The pair comprise the public face of the game and are so adored by Kingdom of Loathing's fans that I received a ransom note the other day telling me that I'd never see my cat again if I didn't lavish enough praise on the duo. This was weird to me, as I don't own a cat, but that's neither here nor there. In our final week of plumbing the depths of Kingdom of Loathing, I had the pleasure of probing Zack "Jick" Johnson's mind, and I haven't quite recovered yet. I have looked into the abyss, and it looked into me -- and winked. Oh, you flirty abyss! So let's do this thing -- hit the jump and find out just what makes KoL tick from the inside out!

  • Taco Bell offering free copies of MySims with its Kid's Meals

Want a free copy of MySims and an exciting trip to the bathroom? Taco Bell and EA have partnered up on a new Kid's Meal promotion. Starting today, Taco Bell Kid's Meals will offer one of three MySims-branded items: a sticker case, a MySims Sky Heroes activity poster or a full copy of MySims for PC. Giving away a video game with a kid's meal certainly gives the appearance of a great value. We're surprised other game companies haven't rushed at the opportunity to create themed kid's meals. Imagine: a Pokemon Happy Meal, with a new in-game critter in each bag. You'd catch 'em all after only 500 meals or so!

Taco Bell wants your PlayStation 3. And it's willing to make a trade. How about a lifetime supply of Gorditas, Chalupas, Double Deckers, and Crunchwraps? The first person to donate a PS3 will receive $12,500 in Taco Bell Bucks*, in turn, the console will end up in the hands of the Boys & Girls Club. So why doesn't Taco Bell simply make its own anonymous gift to charity? Can't get its hands on a PS3? Nah, this one reeks of publicity stunt ending in heart attack. Shameless. Who's gonna take one for the team?*The offer expires December 1; limited to one recipient.

  • Would you trade your PS3 for a lifetime of Tacos?

We know we would. Sure, the PS3 might be worth 10-20 grand on eBay right now, but $12,500 of Taco Bell money is like four million billion in real cash, especially with that Big Bell Value Menu of theirs -- how can you go wrong? The reason we ask is that Taco Bell is asking its patrons just that: trade in your PS3 for $12,500 in Taco Bell Bucks, roughly a lifetime of tacos. This deal is only good for the first taker, since the plan is to give the PS3 to the Boys & Girls club in Stanton, California, "a gift that will keep them in the game." The offer expires December 1st. Anyone wanna "loan" us a PS3 real quick?
