Nintendo's Wii U is off to a holiday-sales head-start, with pre-orders of the Deluxe and Basic bundles selling out at many online retailers. The Deluxe bundle includes a black, 32GB Wii U for $350, while the Basic system has a white, 8GB Wii U for $300.Below we have a list of stores where both versions of the Wii U are sold out and where they are still available. Though for how long they remain available, we can't predict.Best Buy, Toys R Us, and Target are sold out of both versions online. Sears and Kmart, which belong to the same parent company, are both sold out of the Deluxe version and don't appear to offer the Basic.GameStop is sold out of the 32GB, black Deluxe bundle, but the 8GB, white Basic bundle is still available for pre-order.Wal Mart is holding strong with both versions (Deluxe and Basic) still available on their own or as part of the Wal Mart Solution Bundle, which adds a Wii Remote Plus and a choice of a Wii U game to either system. The Solution Bundle is $400 for the Basic set or $450 for the Deluxe.

  • Toys R Us 7-inch Tabeo kids tablet coming in October for $150

Toys R Us has posted a listing for a new 7-inch child's Android slate priced at $150 called the Tabeo, saying it will go on sale October 1st in stores only. According to the Wall Street Journal, the company will announce more details later today, but pictures on the site indicate it will be more conventional in design style and not as "kiddified" as the toy store's previous offering, the Nabi. Technical specs include a 1GHz processor, 4GB of built-in storage, upgradeable to 32GB, HDMI-out, 50 pre-loaded apps and -- brace for it -- its own native app store offering around 6,000 more. That might mean it's aimed at older kids than the previous tab's six-year old and up target, but it better have some killer features for the younger set -- it's up against a spate of similar products that have already hit shelves. Update: This looks very much like an Archos Child Pad with different colors and $20 added to the asking price. Thanks all who spotted the similarity.

The Chun Li Hello Kitty plushies available at Comic-Con last weekend were sold out by Saturday morning, but there is still hope for the thousands of remaining fans clamoring to get their hands on one. The Hello Kitty Ryu, M. Bison and Chun Li plushies pictured in their Comic-Con display above are soon coming to "as many stores as we can get them into," a Capcom booth employee told us. He mentioned specifically Hot Topic, Sanrio stores and Toys 'R' Us as possiblities for the plushies, which are "Series 1" in a planned line of Hello Kitty X Street Fighter toys.

  • Toys R Us revamps loyalty rewards program

Toys R Us' loyalty program will undergo a few changes starting July 1, as announced in a press release today. The Rewards "R" Us system rewards buyers with points for each dollar spent online and in stores. Points no longer expire in the revised system, and there are no more exclusive periods of time (like holidays) where points cannot be earned. In the new program, every dollar spent on entertainment products (such as video games) is rewarded with one point. Members receive a $5 certificate every time they reach 500 points earned. To put that into perspective, rewards program members get $5 in "R"Us reward money for purchasing 17 Nintendo DS games at $30 apiece. Totally worth it, right?

  • Toys R Us offers deals on Xbox 360, 3DS, Skylanders

Black Friday may be long gone, but that's not stopping Toys R Us from offering some last minute Christmas doorbuster deals this weekend. This Friday through Sunday, customers will receive a $60 gift card with the purchase of an Xbox 360 Kinect console bundle. You can also snag a $25 gift card with the purchase of any two video games priced $29.99 or higher. Next week, from December 20 through 10pm on Christmas Eve (sorry Toys R Us employees!), the retailer will also offer a pair of deals on Skylanders and the 3DS. First up, those who purchase a 3DS (in-store only) will snag a $35 gift card. Second, purchasing the Skylanders starter pack will net customers a free 3DS game worth up to $39.99. It's worth noting that the offer is valid only for "select" 3DS titles, though the press release makes no mention of which titles are exempted. Regardless, there's potential for some serious holiday savings if either of these things are on your list. Just remember, once you buy Skylanders, you will keep buying Skylanders.

  • Toys R Us, Amazon do buy one, get one half-off on all video games

The corporate brain trust at Toys R Us has discovered the ancient retail secret of Yuletide deals and rival Amazon is looking to match. Through December 10 (and until supplies last at Amazon), both retailers' entire stock of video games and video game accessories will be buy one, get one half-off. But if you're more for the bending parts and kung-fu grip, you'll have to stick with Toys R Us -- there are deals on Nerf guns, action figures and Lego stuff to consider. Something called Zhu Zhu Pets is also on sale at Goeffrey Giraffe's, though we're not really sure what that thing is. We'd Google it but, to be honest, the last time we did that it didn't end so well. We never really figured out how to turn the safe search on.

  • Retailers opening up at midnight (or even earlier) for Black Friday

If waking up at 5am in the morning this Friday to grab some of those deals on video games at Gamestop doesn't sound like your idea of a good time, then good news times two: One, you're completely sane. Second, GameStop is actually opening at 12:01am on Thanksgiving night/Friday morning, so if you can wake yourself out of your turkey coma to go and buy some games, you can get all your shopping done before the moon even comes out. Best Buy is also opening up at 12am on Friday morning for its doorbuster sale, as is Target, despite some protests from employees and their families. Toys R Us is the real kicker, though: Its sales are starting at 9pm on Thursday night, hardly enough time for the football games to even finish before the holiday sales begin. You can see all of the available deals on video games, online and offline, in our big, bad Black Friday deals post for this year. If you do head out to buy some items right away at midnight, maybe offer to buy the employees you see there some doughnuts or coffee -- if they're out there all night, they'll probably need it.

  • Toys R Us Cyber Monday: Free Skylanders with Mario 3DS bundle

Appealing to those of us who prefer not to risk physical harm in order to secure some sweet deals, Toys R Us has announced its plans for Cyber Monday (AKA the Monday following Black Friday) and the ensuing "Cyber Week." For starters, the retailer will actually begin its online discounts beginning on Sunday, November 27 at 6pm Eastern. There are only a handful of gaming deals, though they are fairly substantial. First up for grabs, a free game, controller or headset ($59.99 or less) with the purchase of a $300 4GB Xbox 360 Kinect bundle. Also, Toys R Us will offer a "buy one, get one 60 percent off" discount on "hundreds of video game titles," though the press release doesn't specify which titles are included. Finally, starting on Monday at 8am Eastern, those who pick up the $200 3DS Mario bundle will get a free Skylanders starter pack (normally $70). As the "cyber" implies, these deals will only be available through ToysRUs.com, though store pick up is available on certain items. Shipping is also free on orders over $49.

'Tis the season to be stampede trampled jolly, apparently, despite the fact that we're still cleaning the toilet paper out of our trees and we haven't even begun trying to decide between potatoes and stuffing. As department stores across the nation begin decking their halls with boughs of various things, they also begin preparing their tired, broken staff for the onslaught of panicked, sleep-deprived consumer mayhem awaiting them on November 25. Toys R' Us, purveyor of battery/adult-assembly-requiring novelties since 1957, will be celebrating the fact that you've managed to survive another family gathering by offering buy-one-get-one-free deals on select DS and Wii titles, and buy-one-get-one-for-five-bucks deals on select console titles. They're also discounting the Kinect 360 bundle to $199, the Kinect itself to $99, and the PS3 to $199. Take a squint at the leaked flier here (and here) for specifics, and remember that great savings can be had as long as you're willing to sacrifice your humanity some shut-eye.

  • Toys R Us' Nabi Android tablet lets junior play while mommy drinks

True, mommy may not have to drink, but as long as Toys R Us' Nabi tablet is in the house, that cabinet door will always be open. Designed to distract kids aged six years and up, this tot-sized Android slate boasts a seven-inch, 800 x 480 capacitive touchscreen display, 4GB of onboard storage, and a 533MHz dual-core Cortex-A9 CPU. These certainly aren't the most scintillating specs we've ever come across (even by kiddo tablet standards), but keep in mind that we're talking about six-year-olds, here. They don't know anything. Plus, they'll probably be distracted by the Nabi's customized UI, tailored for so-called "kiddified" browsing, reading and TV watching. If you ever get a hankering to get in on the action yourself, you can always send the beast to time out and play with the tablet yourself, thanks to a built-in "Mommy Mode" that provides a more mature Android experience. No word yet on whether Toys R Us plans to introduce a "Daddy Mode" (or, for that matter, a "Postman Mode"), but that's probably a conversation for another day. Hands-off parents can pre-order the Nabi for $200, at the source link below.

Toys R Us has decided that all peripherals must go, and in order to clear the shelves as quickly as possible, a ridiculous number of DJ Hero, Tony Hawk, and Guitar Hero bundles for all systems have been marked down to $9.99. If you've just got too darn much free space in your living room, make the jump for the full list of store-only mega-deals. We recommend getting a swift move on, however; even with these franchises functionally dead, we don't expect this stuff to hang around for long. [Thanks, Teeftwo!]

If your friend to pocket ratio is ridiculously pocket-heavy, San Diego Comic-Con will have an exclusive deal on Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Minimates to solve all your loneliness woes and fill those empty voids on your cargo pants. At Entertainment Earth Booth #2343, Toys"R"Us will be selling a limited number of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Minimates, including Iron Man in stealth armor, Red Hulk, Morrigan and Zero. For those unable to snag a ticket to San Diego Comic-Con (everyone), Toys"R"Us will be selling the exclusive Minimates online at Toysrus.com/comiccon2011 beginning the final day of Comic-Con, Sunday, July 24.

  • Transformers: Dark of the Moon pre-orders include virtual and actual Transformers

For those of you who need a bribe in order to be pushed into a purchase of Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Activision has prepared its cornucopia of goodies, divided up by retailer and by console. GameStop pre-orders for Xbox 360 and PS3 will get you a code to unlock Sideswipe, while Amazon pre-orders get you Ratchet (and a $10 credit). But the Wii and DS games, pre-ordered anywhere, get you actual toys -- Bumblebee with the Autobots game, and Lockdown with the Decepticons version. Other bonuses announced by Activision include an in-game Bumblebee skin for the 3DS version at Toys R Us, in-game "Deco" character skins for the Wii and DS games at Target, and a, "original, limited edition Transformers: Dark of the Moon comic book" at Kmart and Sears, seemingly not tied to any particular version. Or you could pre-order from Best Buy and get a "free movie ticket upgrade to 3D." Thrilling.%Gallery-123022%

  • Buy one, get one half off at Toys 'R' Us this weekend

Are you the "cool" aunt or uncle? When Easter rolls around, do you like to drop iPods and Ray-Bans in the baskets of your nieces and nephews? If so, Toys 'R' Us has a nice deal running today and Saturday. The store is currently offering a buy one, get one half off sale on all video games, meaning you can pick up some new hotness for yourself and save some money on Kinectimals for little Suzy Anne. Keep in mind that the offer only applies to in-store purchases. We're sure that's fine though -- you probably needed to pick up some new Ray-Bans anyway.

  • As predicted, Toys R Us now carrying iPad 2

    by
    Kelly Hodgkins

    04.18.2011

Apple fans still looking for an iPad 2 can now check the supply at their local Toys R Us store. As expected, Toys R Us is now selling the popular tablet in select stores across the US. Not every store is carrying the tablet, so you should consult this list on Toys R Us' website before you trek out to your local shop. This expansion to yet another retail chain suggests supply constraints on the iPad 2 are easing. When the tablet first debuted, Apple stores quickly sold their initial stock, and online delivery times extended out to 4-5 weeks. One month later, the iPad 2 is available from Target, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Toys R Us, Verizon Wireless, AT&T and Apple stores nationwide. Online shipping times have also dropped to 2-3 weeks with customers reporting delivery times earlier than the projected 14-21 days. There are also rumors Apple is working to expand component suppliers in order to ease supply issues. Though the retail footprint of the iPad 2 is increasing, finding the tablet in stock is still hit or miss. Calling regularly and checking early are two simple strategies to increase your odds of snagging the model you want. With Mother's Day right around the corner, it may also be a good idea to start your hunt now if you want to surprise Mom on her special day. [Via Apple Insider]

When we were younger, we lusted after the top-shelf electric train set. The pow-pow-Power Wheels jeep. The Virtual Boy. These days, that rich kid down the street will have a very different sort of toy. When ModMyi reported that Toys 'R' Us was training associates to sell the iPad 2 weeks ago, we thought it might be a leftover April Fools', but sure enough, Geoffrey the Giraffe will begin pushing Apple's tablet to children who don't want to grow up as soon as tomorrow morning. [Thanks to everyone who sent this in]

  • Toys R Us getting iPad 2 tomorrow

    by

    04.16.2011

We heard a little while back that the iPad 2 was coming to retailer Toys R Us, of all places, and now 9to5Mac follows that up with news that the day arrives tomorrow. As of Sunday, April 17, the magical, revolutionary tablet will be ready to go, along with a selection of Smart Covers. You can visit the chain's website to see which stores are selling the tablets. Toys R Us actually has a pretty good retail relationship with Apple, having offered iPad trade-ins at the store before. But that relationship doesn't seem to extend to online sales -- it's likely that iPads will be available only in stores rather than on the toy retailer's website. If you've been trying to get your hands on an iPad 2 with no luck so far, there's one more option for you. Good luck!

  • Nintendo Wii on sale at Toys R Us, Best Buy for $169.99

    04.16.2011

May 15th is still a month away, but the Nintendo Wii's price won't wait -- both Best Buy and Toys 'R' Us already have the motion-controlled console on sale for $170 today. Mind you, this doesn't look like a permanent price cut -- note "Limited Time Offer!" above -- but we wouldn't be surprised if other retailers follow suit in very short order. With rumors swirling around deeper price cuts and perhaps, maybe, possibly even a new backwards-compatible HD machine, every Wii sold at $170 today could be a little extra gold in their pockets and less unwanted inventory to deal with.

  • iPad 2 coming to Toys "R" Us

    by

    04.07.2011

I don't wanna grow up, I'm a Toys "R" Us kid. A million toys to choose from that I can play with. From bikes to trikes and video games... and soon the iPad 2, according to an anonymous Toys "R" Us employee who provided ModMyi.com with pictures of internal training materials focused on Apple's tablet. The iPad 2 could go on sale at the iconic toy retailer as early as next month. Since the original iPad launched last April in about 1,200 locations, Apple has aggressively expanded the device's retail distribution. The iPad 2 is now available at over 10,000 storefronts in the United States, including the company's own retail stores and national chains like Best Buy, Target, Walmart, Sam's Club, AT&T, Verizon and Radio Shack. At first, Toys "R" Us seems like an odd addition to the growing list of iPad 2 retailers; the New Jersey-based company is the world's leading dedicated toy and juvenile products retailer, and not the first chain most of us would associate with high-tech gadgets. But Apple products won't be new to the retailer -- Toys "R" Us already carries the iPod in its online and retail stores. If Apple's music player is selling well at Toys "R" Us, it seems natural for the company to carry the iPad 2 as well. Also, a recent survey by Piper Jaffray found that 22 percent of teenagers already have a tablet device in their homes and another 20 percent intend to buy one (or force their parents to buy one) in the next six months. Both Apple and Toys "R" Us could tap into this valuable teen market by putting the iPad 2 into some of the retailer's approximately 1,300 locations worldwide. [via Electronista]
