Sharing slow-motion videos from your iPhone can be a real challenge when many apps don't know what to do with them, but Twitter just made it a lot easier. The social network now supports posting and embedding iPhone slow-mo clips, so you don't have to jump through hoops to tweet high-speed footage of your pet. It's a simple feature, but it could mean a lot if you want to show off your more dramatic recordings as quickly as possible.

If you haven't been using the super slo-mo feature on the iPhone 6 you've seriously been missing out. It's capable of slowing the world to half the speed of the slo-mo feature on the iPhone 5s, and it makes the frantic footwork of skateboarding look downright magical. Apple has used skateboarding to show off the feature in the past, but this footage from Braille Skateboarding puts that to shame.

We're so impressed with the new iPhone 6's slo-mo capabilities, we had to share some more examples. Late last week The Verge posted photos of Iceland taken with the iPhone 6 Plus and the results are nothing short of astounding. If you haven't seen it yet, by all means, please check it out. Not to be outdone, video recording on the new iPhone models is just as electrifying. If you haven't yet checked out TechCrunch's demo of how the Cinematic Video Stabilization feature can improve your video footage, do it. It's out of this world. The iPhone 6 models also provide higher quality slo-mo footage as the new iSight camera can shoot footage at 240fps in 720p, a step up from the 120fps the iPhone 5s was capable of. Showcasing this improved slo-mo footage, check out this clip of wine being poured into a glass. iPhone 6 Slow Motion Wine Pour 240fps from Osborne Images on Vimeo.

Filmmaker Jim Geduldick got hold of a Phantom Miro M120 super-slo-mo camera and decided to put it to the test. The small-bodied camera can record a staggering 730fps at a full resolution of 1920 x 1200, but can go as 200,000fps if you aren't too fussed about image quality. After the break we've got the video that'll make you rush excitedly to the Vision Research website, only to find that prices start from $25,000 -- keeping it strictly for music video directors (and Engadget Show segments).

Ever wanted to see flowing water slowed down to the point of transforming into a series of airborne droplets? This video has that. And more. A chap by the name of Tom Guilmette got to work with a Vision Research Phantom Flex camera recently, and, being the true geek that he is, he put together a video composition of staggering slow-motion footage. When pushed to its limit, the Phantom is capable of filling every second of 1080p recording with 2,800 frames, though Tom mercifully ran it at a lower 2,564fps speed. That's still sufficient temporal resolution to let you track the wave of an impact's vibration as it travels up a BlackBerry's body -- oh yeah, it's as awesome as it sounds.

  • Phantom camera captures flamethrower vs. fire extinguisher in ultra slo-mo (video)

Korn's "Freak on a Leash," Smashing Pumpkin's "Tonight, Tonight" and Michael / Janet Jackson's "Scream" come to mind when thinking of stunning music videos of the past score, but we're guessing that a 3:19 clip from the good people in Dancing Pigeons will be joining that fray. The music video for "Ritalin" was shot entirely on a Vision Research Phantom and Canon EOS 7D, with the former handling the slow motion work. Which, of course, is the star of the show. You may not think 199 seconds of flamethrower vs. fire extinguisher would be entertaining, but you'd be wrong. Hop on past the break and mash play, but be sure to position a drip rag beneath your chin beforehand.

  • GTA IV drives slo-mo, learns days of the week

In a recent test drive of Grand Theft Auto IV, MTV's Multiplayer discovered a couple new features for this go-around in Liberty City. One very passive feature is GTA IV will have days of the week. So, instead of an endless cycle of night and day, there'll be an endless cycle of day and night split over seven infinitely repeating days. This will affect gameplay by only allowing Niko to access certain areas on specific days of the week. MTV says you don't have to worry about it turning into Animal Crossing though, the day/night cycle will be the same as other entries into the series -- meaning gamers won't need to mess with their system's internal clock. The other reveal is the use of a slo-mo while driving. GTA veterans can already imagine the advantages and cool factor this could have while avoiding traffic or trying to hit a stunt point perfectly. A very nice feature, but one we'll have to see for ourselves to get a better feel for when and where it can be used. GTA IV is still expected to hijack the sales charts beginning April 29.
