Back in January, we got to meet a smaller, more portable version of the Qoobo cat tail pillow, which is aptly named Petit Qoobo. Today, Yukai Engineering announced that it will be using Indiegogo to take international pre-orders for the Petit Qoobo. Meanwhile, the regular Qoobo with a more realistic cat tail will also be available for $135 instead of the usual $149, in case you want to bring both cat tail cushions home.

As in all children's toys, representation in American Girl's line of dolls is key: The last to be introduced was a Latin American girl destined to reach Mars. But maybe owners just want to see theirs kick back, relax, and play a few rounds of Fortnite like they do. American Girl has released a pack of 'gamer' paraphernalia including a headset, chair and an Xbox One S, finally solving the debate of where the brand falls in the system wars.

While the American Girl brand is well-known for teaching the past through dolls with fictional ties to important events, its latest aims to inspire youths to make history themselves. On the first day of 2018, the next American Girl will hit stores: 11-year-old Luciana Vega, who aspires to be the first person to reach Mars.

Germany bans children’s smartwatches over privacy concerns

Germany's telecommunications regulator, the Federal Network Agency, announced a ban today on the sale of kids' smartwatches, the BBC reports, and encouraged parents to destroy the ones they already own. The agency appears to be taking particular issue with the devices' abilities to transmit audio from its surroundings. Jochen Homann, the agency's president, said today, "Via an app, parents can use such children's watches to listen unnoticed to the child's environment and they are to be regarded as an unauthorised transmitting system."

Those modern Cabbage Patch dolls with amusing/disturbing LCD eyes introduced earlier this year are now available in the US. While they unfortunately didn't come out in time to complete your Chucky family Halloween costume, they still have the same unsettling animated peepers that blink and look around. They still "sleep" and have sensors that can detect tickles. The dolls can also "feed" from a bottle and need diaper changes -- so they're basically dolls with the needs of a baby that could freak you out in the middle of the night.

Technologically inclined Barbie's aren't exactly new, but a Mars Explorer Barbie? Yeah, that's worth mentioning. In cooperation with NASA, the "Career of the Year Mars Explorer Barbie" is being "launched"... presumably right into Ken's ever-loving heart. We're told that she's ready to "add her signature pink splash to the red planet," and should be hitting Earthly shelves now for $12.99. The best part? Curiosity won't have to sing a birthday song alone ever again.

  • Angry Birds gets real... corporeal (in China, at least)

Let's be honest: you can never get enough of Angry Birds, but for those wandering around Guangzhou, China, you might be able to get your fix at this arcade booth. Like the game itself, there's an actual slingshot for firing your enraged fowls at a bunch of plush doll piggies, except there are no special abilities like explosion or splitting -- maybe the next version will take care of that, unless Rovio Mobile decides it's game over for these guys.

  • Steve Jobs shrinks down to action figure size, ego remains untouched

Whether he's playing hero or villain in your personal technology drama, Apple CEO and marketer extraordinaire Steve Jobs likely has a role -- and now the dramatis persona has his very own action figure to help you act it out. For $80, Jobs comes complete with his trademark black turtleneck and rimless glasses, nicely crinkled Levi's jeans, a pair of New Balance sneakers, a miniature iPhone 4 and a truly epic beard. He's even got an Apple logo to stand on and a set of speech bubble cards, which hopefully work with a dry erase marker considering how often the man comes up with juicy new quotes. See the astounding level of detail at our source link, or even grab one for yourself.

  • Majesco's Babysitting Mama includes your very own baby

The "WiiWaa" doll introduced us to the concept of cramming a Wiimote into a doll's mouth and using that to interact with a game. Majesco is bringing that same idea to a much more mainstream game: the previously trademarked Babysitting Mama. Using a plush baby into which you have tucked a Wiimote -- and also using the Nunchuk that is somehow hanging out of this plush baby or something -- you play 40 minigames in the usual Cooking Mama style; representing tasks like feeding and changing a baby, or rocking it to sleep. The game will feature six different virtual babies with unique personalities, though you'll be using the same proxy doll to manipulate all the e-babies. Babysitting Mama is due out this holiday. Unfortunately, Majesco has yet to release an image of the doll, so we can't yet gauge how creeped out we're going to be by this game. %Gallery-93595%

  • WiiWaa has the plushiest peripheral ever

At first, this trailer for WiiWaa had us quite skeptical. Seeing a Wii Remote shoved down the throat of an adorable plush doll clued us in. Certainly this had to be another fake Wii game, a la Mass: We Pray! However, it didn't take long for this trailer to work its magic on our cold, Scrooge-like hearts. Translating playtime with a real-world doll for a video game is rather brilliant, transforming an inanimate toy into something much more engaging and interactive. We can already imagine parents fighting each other at Toys 'R' Us for a WiiWaa plush/game combo set at Christmas next year -- provided the game is, y'know, real. [Thanks Andrew C.]

  • Plush Moonkin by Serthida of Bloodhoof

Put another entry into the catalog of cute WoW-related dolls, because this plush Moonkin, made by Serthida of Bloodhoof, definitely fits the bill. Unfortunately, Blizzard has only ever released a Murloc plush, but that didn't stop Serthida from putting this together. It looks amazing. She even wanted to put a voicebox in there that made the moonkin hoot when squeezed, but we're guessing she doesn't want to buy a whole case of them from China. She does, however, have mats (see what we did there?) for a second Alliance version -- she says as soon as she can figure out the antlers, she'll get it started. This one is just her personal project, so it's not for sale at all, and once again, we're guessing it's too much work for her to mass produce anyway. But since the Murloc toy was one of the best-selling items at BlizzCon last year, maybe we'll soon see some more official plush product for sale. Thanks, Xascha!

Today, the Capcom Blog decided to reveal the box art and a prototype figurine for Bionic Commando. The thing about the figurine, though, is that the company has no idea when, where, how or if the general consumer will be able to get one.OK, we have no idea what the point of showing off the six-inch tall prototype is other than to gauge consumer interest. So, fine, we'll bite. It's kinda sexy. What say y'all? Would you pay $20 more if it came in one of those "limited edition" packages these companies are so fond of?

Link looks awfully adorable in amigurumi form, so we're grateful to Artoo1121 and her boyfriend for bringing such a cute craft into the world. What really gets us, though, are all the mini accessories that come along with this crocheted wonder, like the Hylian Shield, the Master Sword, the Lon Lon Milk, and (last but not least) the ocarina. Artoo1121 is also working on a Zelda to match up with Link, which will be impressive if it even comes out half as nice. You can also check out her Flickr set here to see more pictures of this craft if you happen to like it as much as we do.[Via Technabob]

  • Own your own talking Murloc plushie this September

It seems like Murlocs are the monster that everyone loves to hate. Almost everyone has a story of that one horrible Murloc battle that ended up in in tears and multiple corpse runs. Seriously, the nerve of some NPCs, actually grabbing their friends for the fight! The next thing you know, they'll be attacking the one in the dress instead of the heavily armored tank! But seriously, for all our hatred, we probably couldn't imagine our WoW careers without Murlocs. They're a fun, distinct, and different race, and aside from the cold slimy fish thing, they might almost be sort of cuddly. That Nerglish language is a lot of fun too. In that vein, wouldn't you sort of like a Murloc pet? Play.com is advertising a talking Murloc plush pet that should fulfill most of your Murloc loving needs. To be released on September 30th, it will cost £24.99 via their site (Which is about $49.50), and say multiple phrases in Nerglish. Multiple phrases? How many ways can you say "mrrgrglgrglgrgl," anyway? Anyhow, it looks pretty cool, and I'm sure it'll be destined to be a pretty hot selling item. Now we just need a Naga Siren plushie to keep it in line... [Thanks for the tip, Grimmy!]

  • Tomy localizing Licca-chan doll simulator?

We aren't exactly sure what the "Lovely Lisa" game found on the ESRB database is, but a quick jaunt over to potential Tomy's Japanese website gave us a potential solution. "Lisa" is pretty close to "Licca," as in Licca-chan, their line of fashion dolls. Last year, Tomy released a virtual Licca doll game on the DS, called Licca-chan DS Onna no Ko Lesson (Licca-chan DS Girls' Lessons), a combination of a Licca-chan doll with customizable clothing, and, of course, a suite of minigames. If this is indeed Licca-chan DS, it might be a step toward launching the doll line in the U.S., in which case you can see the future of the pink aisles in Toys R Us. Or it could just be a cheap game that Tomy thinks they could sell.

  • 12th scale Dolls House TV actually functions, keeps Polly Pocket entertained

Generally speaking, when your good toys go bad, sitting them down within a cramped up doll house is adequate punishment. Unfortunately, said tactic is no longer valid if your kiddo's doll house is equipped with a Dolls House TV. This handcrafted 12th scale television -- which is just barely taller than a AA battery -- is built to feel right at home in Barbie's domicile, and considering that it features composite inputs, you can even watch a DVD or play Guitar Hero while trying not to squint. Granted, we can't see paying £99 ($195) for this thing, but don't believe for a second that some rug rats aren't already screaming for one.[Via NewsLite]
