iLuv ships weather-watching iMM183 dual dock iPod / iPhone alarm clock

It belts out severe weather alerts as storms are barreling towards your domicile. It acts as a decent bedroom stereo. And it wakes you and the SO up to your own favorite jams -- all while charging your iPod or iPhone throughout the night. If those amenities sound like must-haves in your own life, you might be interested in knowing that iLuv's iMM183 dual dock alarm clock is now shipping, nearly a full year after being originally announced at CES. The pain? $149.99 -- but hey, that's a small price to pay to keep your dear media player / handset out of a tornado's eye, right?

iLuv's $270 i1166 portable multimedia player finally shipping next month

Set in stone for March, eh? Looks like that ship date slipped just a wee bit. iLuv's curious i1166 -- which plays back an array of multimedia from an array of sources on its 9-inch LCD -- is now slated to ship to the US next month. Originally introduced at CES, the $269.99 device can play back content stored on an iPod, DVD, SD / MMC card or USB drive, though the omission of a screen resolution gives us serious pause. Other specs include twin 3.5 millimeter headphone jacks, an "iPod-friendly" user interface and a bundled remote, none of which justify the lofty asking price in our humble eyes. You and your wallet can feel free to disagree in around a fortnight, though.

iLuv's iEA15 adapter lets any headphones work with VoiceOver, iPhone

The suits in Cupertino already confirmed the existence of a proprietary chip in the new iPod shuffle headphones, but if you're squarely in the tin foil hat crowd, we've got one more shred of evidence to win you over. iLuv's newest adapter, the iEA15, outrightly asserts that it is "equipped with a remote control chip provided by Apple, Inc.," but it's the functionality of said adapter that has our interest piqued. Rather than settling for a set of VoiceOver-capable earbuds that you aren't really fond of, this here go-between enables any headphones with a 3.5 millimeter jack to connect with (and control) Apple's newest shuffle. Moreover, it'll play nice with the iPhone family as well, and the built in microphone enables you to handle a call without ever removing your 'buds. The frightening part is that no price and release date have been set, which probably means iLuv's lobbying to get that Made for iPod tax down in order to not charge $50 for this thing.

iLuv keeps it flowing with i1166 9-inch portable multimedia player

iLuv has been on a serious roll here lately, and just when you thought it couldn't possibly pump out another iPod clock radio, well, it couldn't. Instead, it's offering up a 9-inch portable multimedia player which accepts content via USB, SD card or MMC card. The i1166 is DivX certified and features video output, a 3-way power source (AC, DC car adapter and the built-in Li-ion battery) and an iPod charging / remote control. The price is still being determined, but the ship date is set in stone for March. Full release, per usual, is after the break.

iLuv's iMM183 dual dock iPod alarm clock also does weather alerts

Man, iLuv's on a roll like no other. Practically every week since the onset of December '08 the company has pushed out a new alarm clock of some kind, and it has apparently saved the big boy for CES. Announced today, the iMM183 Hi-Fi Dual Dock Alarm Clock with Weather Band Radio promises to charge both you and your lover's iPod / iPhone 3G while providing NOAA emergency alerts of impending weather-related doom. There's also an obligatory auxiliary input for non-Apple devices, and the LED warning indicator should do a decent job of telling you what sort of catastrophe is looming. Just remember -- HURRICANE ALERT =/ Rock You Like A Hurricane. Full release is after the break.

iLuv rolls out iHD171 HD radio with iPhone / iPod dock, iTunes tagging

iLuv has been on quite the roll of late with these radio clocks and whatnot, though we're a touch more excited than usual about the iHD171. For starters, this one tunes into HD Radio stations (you know, given how FM is so 2006), and it also plays nice with dock-connecting iPods and iPhones. You'll find twin alarms for keeping couples happy, a front-panel display, iTunes tagging support, jAura speaker technology, an auxiliary line input (3.5-millimeter jack) and twin 4-watt drivers. If all that's enough for you to exchange $199.99 for, you can do just that next month. Full release is after the jump.

iLuv announces i9500 iPod / CD sound system

iLuv certainly isn't lacking in iPod docks these days, but those looking for something a bit more elaborate than your average desktop model will no doubt be pleased to see the company's new i9500 system, which opts for a vertical design that can accommodate four CDs in addition to the iPod of your choice. If that's not enough for you, the system will also handle SD cards and USB storage devices, and you'll also get all the usual stereo features like an AM/FM radio and alarm clock functionality. With 45W of power and a separate, somewhat sizeable subwoofer, the system should also pump out some decent enough sound, at least compared to iLuv's more modest systems. No word on a price just yet, but iLuv will apparently have more to say about that at CES.

iLuv's iNT170 internet radio-alarm appears, no one's too excited

Not to be left out, iLuv's also brought out another internet radio / alarm combo and it looks exactly like you'd think it would. Only cooler. The iNT170's packing access to 15,000 radio stations and podcasts through its built-in WiFi, aka INTERNET (see photo). It's got two 2.5 watt jAura sound speakers, a dual alarm clock, plus a 3.5mm line-in if you need to plug in your PMP. The clock self-updates via INTERNET, so you'll never be able to use that Daylight Saving Time excuse for being late to work again (we recommend the "flooded basement" or "sick cat" in its stead), and you'll have the option to wake to INTERNET or regular radio in addition to the old standby buzzer. It's available now for $199.

iLuv intros the iMM173 dual-dock iPod / iPhone alarm clock

Putting two iPhone / iPod docks in an alarm clock is a simple and clever idea that's so far only shown up in the JVC NX-PN7 (which we have and love), but it looks like iLuv's getting in the game as well with the new iMM173. Apart from the two shielded iPhone 3G-compatible docks up top, it's the usual iLuv kit with 5 watt jAura sound, an aux input, and dual alarms -- not a bad deal for an MSRP of $129 that'll almost certainly be lower at retail when this hits in September.

iLuv's i1255 desktop iPod / DVD player combo now shipping

Hey there partner, we just know that troubled look on your face is due to the inability to find yourself a DVD player / iPod dock combo that looks ever-so-slightly like an Atari console, right? If so, you'll be completely relieved to find that iLuv's CES-announced i1255 is now on sale and shipping to whomever pays the stated asking price with a non-stolen, non-maxed out credit card. If you couldn't tell, this unit acts as a vanilla DVD player and enables iPod owners to play back audio / video clips on their television or sound system without messing with additional cables. Shoot, there's even an iPod-tailored on-screen display to sort through your playlists and such. Lasso yours now for just $149.99.

iLuv kicks out i168 and i169 HD Radio alarm clocks

Something's really wrong with the world if more than a few months pass by without a new iPod alarm clock from iLuv, so we suppose everyone's a-okay for a few more months now. Announced today, the firm has introduced its first pair of HD Radio clocks, and sure enough, one of 'em plays nice with Cupertino's darling. The i169 would be that player, which offers up a mostly black motif, dual stereo speakers, remote, iPod dock, AM / FM / HD Radio reception, an auxiliary input and dual alarm settings for good measure. As for the currently available i168, it provides most everything you read up there sans the iPod compatibility, but then again, it only demands $89.99. What about the i169, you ask? It'll set you back a cool $169.99 when it lands in "early May." Full release waiting after the break.

Hands-on with iLuv's i399 and i1255

Lord knows there's no shortage of iPod docks in the world, but what's interesting about the i399 is its Bluetooth 2.0-enabled remote feature which gives you control over your music playback from up to 300 feet away. We're not entirely sure that that plus speakerphone capability and a beat-sensitive blue "mood light" are worth 229 clams, but we can say the sound output for a unit that size was pretty decent. The i1255 packs a DVD player and iPod dock in one unit outputting via S-video, although an HDMI out version i1257 is reportedly slated for release around the same time in March.

iLuv announces a slew of new iPod accessories, including the i399

iLuv's trying to beat the coming rush of iPod accessories that's set to drop at CES by releasing its product info early, and we can't blame them -- but these blurry prerelease photos of the i1255 DVD player / iPod dock (bottom) and the i399 BluePin II A2DP iPod speaker system aren't helping the cause. The $129 i1255 features what's sure to be resoundingly average DVD playback and menu-based onscreen iPod controls, but it's the Bluetooth-enabled i399 that's at least passably interesting here, with A2DP streaming and receiving capabilities, rhythm-sensitive blue LEDs, and speakerphone capabilities. Of course, our passing interest ends at the $229 pricetag, but maybe we'll find it re-piqued when we check this stuff in person next week.

iLuv's Portable Video MP3 & DVD Player lands at Neiman Marcus

First things first: iLuv's forthcoming Portable Video MP3 & DVD Player won't play nice with the iPod touch, iPod classic or the new iPod nanos, but if you're still rockin' an older flavor, keep on reading. This Neiman Marcus exclusive boasts a fairly sexy black chassis, an 8.4-inch screen, touch-sensitive keypad controls, video out and an integrated dock for (last-generation) dock-connecting iPods. The unit will also handle DVD, VCD and audio / JPEG CDs, and there's even a rechargeable Li-ion for moments when an AC outlet is just too far away. iLuv's latest is set to ship later this month for $275, and you can feel free to click on through for another look.

UPDATE: We're hearing that you can actually grab this at other locales, namely Sharper Image, if you're interested.

iLuv shows off "Fashionology" iPod jacket

Those still not satisfied by the various iPod-ready jackets out there will soon have another option to try on for size, this one coming to us from the prolific folks at iLuv. As with most other similar jackets, iLuv's "Fashionology" jacket boasts all the necessary controls on the outside of the sleeve, with buttons seemingly big enough to be manipulated while wearing gloves. Unfortunately, there's no word on price (though we suspect it'll be considerably less than some of the alternatives), but those in Korea should be able to get one sometime this October.
