Intel CEO brought a robotic companion named Jimmy with him on stage at Code Conference today. Jimmy is a 3D-printed robot capable of walking, talking, moving his arms, dancing and even tweeting, and it's the key to Intel's vision of the future of robotics. Starting later this year, the company will make an open source robot kit with 3D-printed parts available to consumers for $1,600, with a research version for $16,000. The former will run on Intel Edison, the company's computer-on-a-chip, while the latter will be powered by a Core i5 processor.

  • Josh invades Late Night studio with flying robot army of one (video)

Lest you weren't glued to your television sets last night, our own Josh Topolsky raised quite a bit of mayhem on Jimmy Fallon's Late Night show. After doing the professional thing and showing off the minuscule Apple TV and Roku XDS media streamers, Josh proceeded to power up an AR.Drone quadricopter and fly it around the studio in a decidedly menacing fashion. For video of Jimmy's courageous reaction and the fallout from this robot invasion, jump past the break. [Thanks, Sonny]

If you're a PS3 player and were all excited to see the exclusive "Jimmy's Vendetta" in your Mafia 2 DLC offerings, hold your horses there, Daddy-O. Turns out "Jimmy's Vendetta" is actually the second DLC pack coming to the game. The first is the one that's PS3 exclusive, and it's called "The Betrayal of Jimmy." Boy, this Jimmy guy, he's got some trust issues. "The Betrayal of Jimmy" will be available exclusively for the PS3 at launch, free with a code inside the new game, or from PSN for $9.99. The pack will allow players to experience "dozens of intense newly created arcade-style, city-based missions" as Jimmy, a mob mercenary. "Jimmy's Vendetta" is another pack coming down the line (pricing and availability not yet announced) that will offer new locations and new missions and have the player working alongside Jimmy around Empire City. Those previously leaked trophies are for the second pack, then, not the first. And we don't yet know if that pack is exclusive to the PS3 or not. Hey, it's confusing, but you're no mafia meathead -- you gotta be smart to outwit the feds, see? %Gallery-97645%

  • WoW Moviewatch: Pepitoz

Today's feature is a humorous tale of QQ channeled into roleplaying entitled Pepitoz: The World of Warcraft Story. Although Rurikar, the same filmmaker who brought us the hilarious Jimmy: A World of Warcraft Story, seems lately to have moved away from machinima to creating his own animated shorts, Pepitoz is a character that stands the test of time. It is a tragic love story, with a twist. Perhaps a dash of music would've added even more humor, but that's my only critique. Anyone who is wincing at possible changes to their class upcoming in Wrath, you'll be able to relate to the source of the melodrama here.If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

I have to say, I am super excited about tomorrow's podcast (live on WoW Radio at 3:30pm EST), not only because Turpster is back from being away last week, and not only because our raid writer extraordinare Marcie Knox is going to be on, but also because we're going to have our first guests ever-- Johnny and Rob from Unforgotten Realms (and the Legendary Heroes podcast, that spawned this Legendary Sisters guild). And they're talented machinimakers, too-- Johnny made the great Unidentified, and Rob made one of my favorite machinima ever-- Jimmy, seen above. Can't wait to talk to both guys. And they'll be on for the whole show, which means they'll be chatting with us about the most popular posts on WoW Insider last week-- Tigole told us about the Death Knight quests, Marcie will talk to us about how to get a guild past 5/6 and 3/4, and we'll talk about Curse's new database and how much it looks like another similar site.So hit up WoW Radio tomorrow afternoon at 3:30pm EST, and join us on IRC at irc.mmoirc.com in the #wowradio channel. See you then-- should be fun.

  • Showin' that Aldor pride

This thread by Tenaciousp offers my sentiments exactly: Aldor rule, Scryers drool! Aldor assemble!Ok, well, actually it's a cut-and-paste of an identical Scryer thread, but still, I'm all for a little faction pride. Besides the rewards and the turn-ins, I haven't heard a peep out of the big dueling factions in Shattrath City. Sure, there have been the occasional skirmishes (I can't believe you all did that to our soup!), and I make it a point to shout "Death to Scryers!" whenever I see an Arcane Tome drop, but there's not much else to speak of. Sure, there's different areas in Shattrath and in Shadowmoon Valley, and a few diffferent quests, but where's the faction-on-faction PvP or really any player-involved opposition between the two factions at all? Now, hopefully more is coming in 2.1 and beyond-- I'd love to see those daily quests involve targets that the Aldor and Scryer have to fight over. And there are ways to pit the two factions against each other without actually pitting players against their own side. What about a repeatable quest that brought reinforcements to a periodic battle? As in, I bring armor scraps to Aldor Rise and every day at 3pm, the two factions have it out, with the winning faction making a special vendor available? Or it doesn't even have to be that complicated-- say whatever side brings the most turn-ins in a day gets an increased rep rate for the next 24 hours. Something to let us compete together and show a little Aldor/Scryer pride.Whether you think the Aldorks are losers or the Scrybabies are whiners, it's clear that there's animosity between the red and blue in Shattrath. It's just a shame there aren't more ways for players to mix it up in game.

This is what you call a tour-de-force of a WoW movie. It's a heartbreaking tale of two friends, two factions, and the funniest portrayal of what it's like to play WoW I've ever seen. Watch it and love it. (There are a few curse words, so it might be NSFW if you work in a monastery). I laughed, I cried, I charged my fireball. And then I shoved it right in that guy's face! Great stuff. By the light of the moon-- *POOF*[ Thanks, Salad! ]
