Welcome back to The Queue, WoW.com's daily Q&A column where the WoW.com team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Alex Ziebart will be your host today. Today's edition of The Queue is one part off-topic and two parts on-topic, but each and every part is worth it. Trust me on that one. Oh, and there's a couple more bad words than usual. You have been warned. I hope none of you are too scandalized by it. Windswept asked... "There is this girl I like that works at the mall, I want to ask her out but I don't know how. What would YOU do?"

In order to entice parents to buy Tecmo software read and play along with their children, the company is giving away 5,000 DS Lite cases to lucky owners of Oyako Asoberu DS Ehon Ukkari Penelope (Parents and Children Can Play DS Picture Book Ukkari Penelope). The cases come in the shape of the title character, Pénélope, a koala kindergartner and star of a bunch of cute NHK animated shorts. Well, more like the likeness of Pénélope -- by design it pretty much has to be the shape of the DS. It's a really cute DS-shaped thing, though![Via PlusD]

So if you're an old Eudora user with fond memories (or if you're amazingly still using Eudora 7) this is worth checking out. Let us know what you think. The Penelope beta is a free download from Mozilla.[via Daring Fireball]

  • Meet Penelope, the new medical assistant robot

Just in case EMMA the nursebot didn't do it for you, there's a new medical assistant bot in town, codename: Penelope. This metallic medico may have all the personality of a swinging desk lamp, but it may also save your life. Penelope is trained to respond to a surgeon's commands for specific tools; if a surgeon calls out for a scalpel, then Penelope will hand it to her. Or if that's too practical for you, try Robotic Surgial Tech's explanation that its robot is like an "Instrument Server." As the company states on its site: "Much as a web server manages and serves web pages, Penelope manages and serves surgical instruments. Penelope processes requests for instruments as they come in. The instrument is located, fetched, and delivered." So does that mean if multiple surgeons ask for multiple items then it will suffer a distributed denial of service attack and start to 404?[Via Robot Gossip]
