Panasonic debuts new Viera HDTVs and DSLR hotness at IFA

We've just gotten back from the Panasonic press conference at IFA, where the electronics giant unveiled a couple of interesting new products, including a new lineup of HDTVs, and the brand-spanking-new Lumix DMC-L10 DSLR camera. Here's a brief rundown of all the hot action that you missed, including an Olympics-esque runner dashing across the stage (all for show, folks).

Sharp's IFA presser features giant 1-inch thin LCD (and little else)

Sharp has just wrapped a rather dry press conference at IFA, where it announced very little, but did rattle off a series of fairly benign and boring numbers (which we will spare you from). There were a few moments of excitement during the hour-long presentation, though mostly due to the thunderous bass of the company's sound and light show.

Samsung's IFA press conference recap

We're just back from the WiFi-less Samsung PR space here at IFA in Berlin, and the report may be less than thrilling to most of our readers. Nevertheless, here's a quick recap of the events. First up on stage was Dr. Jong Woo Park, president of Samsung, who didn't have much to offer in the way of groundbreaking news, though he did emphasize his company's dedication to "user experience" with their products.

At some point during the Jobsters lenghty unveiling of multifarious technologies today, iPhones across the nation were silently rejiggered (presumably by magical Apple wood-sprites) to allow for use of the just announced "Send to Web Gallery" feature. Whether this was a timed event scheduled into the new 1.0.1 update or an over-the-air transmission from Apple remains to be seen, but it is definitely true that the "fully integrated" web gallery upload option which Mr. Jobs demonstrated at today's press conference is currently available for use on your iPhone. Right now. This second.

Engadget & Joystiq's live coverage of Nintendo's Wii E3 event

12:15 am - We're all seated and situated. The theater is huge with three mezzanines and 3,400 seat capacity.

12:17 am - We're sitting in the Kodak theater waiting for the press corps, VIPs, and assorted industry folk to file in, ever so slowly. Pictochat sessions are starting to fill up as people take their seats and whip out their portables.  The announcer just told us to turn off all wireless and bluetooth devices before the presentation begins -- could that be so that our bluetooth doesn't interfere with the Wii's wireless capabilities? Sounds like a hint to us.
