If there is such a thing as a digital photo frame specialist, Pandigital might very well be it. It should come as no surprise then, that the company has just announced a new cellular-connected product to compete with the forthcoming Vizit frame. Focused on making photo sharing as easy as possible, this new 8-inch LED-backlit display comes with an AT&T cellular connection and associated email account, making the process of getting pictures on it effortless -- and sufficiently remote to let you drop photos off with grandma without having to actually be there. The first 300 mailed snaps are free, at which point you'll have to choose between the 6-in-1 card reader or paying a per-pic charge for further emailing to the 1GB of built-in memory. Costing a cent under $150, the Photo Mail frame will be finding store shelves early this year -- skip past the break if you want to learn more.

Zykloid Software's Posterino serves as an elegant and easy-to-use way to create photo-based giftables for those looking for third party alternatives to iPhoto's offerings (postcards, photo books, and calendars), which are great in their own right. As in iPhoto, you can use Posterino to create elegant postcards, customizable with backgrounds and fonts to your liking. And because your iPhoto library is integrated within the app, you can easily drag and drop photos from your iPhoto folders, events, and albums. Posterino also features the ability to create posters, and this is what distinguishes it from iPhoto. These posters, dubbed "Life Posters," can be created based on 12 preset templates within the app. Unlike iPhoto, which serves as a one-stop shop for creating and printing calendars, postcards, and photo books, Posterino requires users to export (as a TIFF or JPG) and ready their image to print at a third party service -- such as Internet-based Kodak Gallery and Snapfish, or at a local print shop. Given their personalized nature, these photo-based products from Posterino can serve as nice holiday gifts and stocking stuffers. Posterino is available for purchase for USD $24.99, but we've got two copies of Posterino to give away to TUAW readers. All you need to do to enter is tell us (in the comments below) about your most embarrassing baby picture -- you know, the one your parents insisted on showing to all your dates in high school. The rules: Open to legal US residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia and Canada (excluding Quebec) who are 18 and older. To enter, leave a comment below. The comment must be left by Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at 11:59 PM Eastern Daylight Time. You may enter only once. Two winners will be selected in a random drawing. Prize: One free license of Posterino (retail value US$24.99). Click here for complete Official Rules.

Some HD gear seems to take forever to hit the streets. HP's latest MediaSmart TVs were announced at CES about nine months ago and while they've been available in select locations, now HP is happy to let us know they're going nationwide. Both the 42-inch and 47-inch 1080p network-enabled LCD HDTVs are going to be coming to a store near you, for $2,099 and $2,499 respectively. So, if your requirements for your next HDTV include access to snapfish, Real Rhapsody and Live365 Radio, -- as well as just about anything else on your computer -- these sets are worth a look.

  • Nokia adds mobile printing software to N-series phones

While there's a certain novelty associated with an SMS-printing bicycle, the practicality is certainly questionable; however, Nokia is adding yet another dash of ole fashioned utility to "four of its N-series cameraphones." Although details are still a bit slim at this point, we do know that Nokia will be releasing software that allows the "Internet Edition" N80 (and a yet-to-be-announced trio of other N-series mobiles) to order prints from the Snapfish website directly from the phone. Users can presumably order prints from other popular alternatives such as Winkflash, but Nokia hasn't extended official support for any site other than HPs own at the moment. Of course, users can order prints from photos already in their gallery, or they can upload them on the fly via their cameraphone. While attempting to resize, crop, and tweak images to perfection before throwing down for a couple 8 x 10-inch hardcopies on a 352 x 418 resolution screen may not be ideal, we won't complain about extra functionality tossed in gratis.
