While there has been more than a few laptops that look pretty in pink, NEC is hoping to dish out a few blues with its latest in the LaVie lineup. The LaVie L LL550/HG sports a light blue coating on the lid that runs to the top of the keyboard, a 15.4-inch 1,280 x 800 resolution LCD, 1.8GHz AMD Sempron 3200+ processor, dual-layer DVD burner, 100GB hard drive, ATI Radeon Xpress 1100 graphics set, 1GB of RAM, and of course, Windows Vista Home Premium (and Office 2007) pre-installed. Additionally, you'll get 802.11a/b/g support, Ethernet, a flash card reader, and a dashing white keyboard that's sure to turn yellow before you even get it broke in good. Notably, the widescreen machine tips the scales at a heavier-than-expected 6.83-pounds, but those still digging the color scheme can pick this up now for ¥169,890 (or just under $1,400).[Via AkihabaraNews]

If you've been eying a Vista-equipped laptop to treat yourself after all that chocolate you dutifully resisted last week, you might as well get a TV tuner built right in. LG Electronics' latest 17-inch behemoth packs a silver / black enclosure, integrated DVB-T tuner, and your choice of Intel Core 2 Duo processors to boot. Under the hood you'll find a WSXGA+ display, support for 5.1 Dolby Digital audio, dual 1.2-watt stereo speakers, ATI's Mobility Radeon X1600 graphics set, Bluetooth 2.0, WiFi, and of course, Windows Vista Home Premium pre-installed. While the W1PRO EXPRESS DUAL isn't exactly the lightest machine out there, it weighs in at a respectable 6.8-pounds and shouldn't make a half bad media-centric portable, but considering the nearly $2,600 pricetag LG has slapped on it, bargain hunters needn't look here long.[Via Gizmag]

As if you haven't had enough Vista-equipped lappies thrown your way, here's another one to mull over if you're digging the ultralight composition and the built-in optical drive. Fujitsu's latest LifeBook sports a sleek, black and silver enclosure, the standard array of multimedia controls, a 13.3-inch LCD, and the obligatory palm rest stickers to boot. Internally, you'll find an AMD Sempron 3200+ processor, 1GB of RAM, 100GB of hard drive space, dual-layer DVD burner, and Windows Vista Home Premium pre-installed. Additionally, you can reportedly expect around 3.4-hours of battery life from the six-cell battery, and if you won't need the skills of your DVD writer for the day, you can whittle the weight down to around 3.6-pounds. No word on price, but for those camped out in Seoul, keep an eye out for the S2210 to land soon.

Alright fellas, we understand that not everyone has the means to lay down a few hundred grand on a heart-emblazed laptop for their SO, but if you're looking to pick up a little pink computing action to make someone's day tomorrow, here's yet another (affordable) option. The Philips X55P doesn't quite rock the firm's 20.1-inch LCD we've been hearing about, as this ultraportable opts for a 12.1-inch WXGA rendition instead, and also packs a 1.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T5200 processor, 1GB of RAM, 100GB hard drive, dual-layer DVD burner, Intel's GMA 950 integrated graphics set, and Windows Vista Home pre-installed. Additionally, you'll find a 56k modem, FireWire, Ethernet, a trio of USB connectors, four hour Li-ion battery, and the obligatory pink lid to fit the occasion. So if you've somehow missed out on the bevy of other pink lappies that have come before, or you just want that warm, fuzzy feeling of having Vista already loaded in, you can snag the X55P now for £649.99 ($1,270).[Via ShinyShiny]

The barrage of notebooks flying our way with Windows Vista pre-installed and ready to "wow" has included a rather wide range of models and choices, but we've yet to come across a pre-fab unit sporting Microsoft's latest OS and demanded less than $500 -- until now. The Everex StepNote VA4101M is the proud owner of a $498 pricetag, a 15.4-inch WXGA display, and Vista Home under the hood, but what this unit lacks in price, it makes up for in weak componentry. Users will likely be let down by the paltry 1.46GHz Intel Celeron M 410 processor, 512MB of DDR2 RAM, 60GB hard drive, and lack of Bluetooth, but hey, you get what you pay for. Notably, Everex did manage to include a dual-layer DVD burner, 802.11b/g, Ethernet, 56k modem, VGA out, and a trio of USB 2.0 ports. So while you won't buy much horsepower for half a grand these days, Everex's latest StepNote can get your feet wet with Vista without breaking the bank, but waiting on that CPU to catch up with your clicking finger just might negate any value that was here.[Via Laptoping]

You know what they say, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em, and apparently Gateway has latched onto said mantra and has quietly dished out a new computer on both the desktop and laptop sides, each fully equipped with Windows Vista. The $499.99 (and up) DX430-series desktop ups the ante from the DX420 by offering Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 / E6300 processors, 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive, 15-in-1 flash card reader, a DVD writer, Intel's GMA X3000 integrated graphics set, a micro ATX chassis, and up to 22-inches of LCD real estate to compliment the machine. In the portable realm, the $699.99 NX270S (pictured after the break) packs a 14.1-inch WXGA widescreen LCD, Intel Celeron 430 CPU, 512MB of RAM, 60GB hard drive, and a combo drive as well. Additionally, you'll find a copy of Vista Home Basic, a trio of USB 2.0 ports, 4-in-1 media card reader, WiFi, 56k modem jack, and Ethernet. Both of these budget-friendly systems aren't out to set any benchmark records, but they should handle the most basic of Vista demands fairly well, and considering the low starting price points on each, your wallet (and SO) will be greatly appreciative.[Via PCMag]

With all this talk about small-form-factor PCs going on, not to mention the Vista-equipped computer bandwagon that's steaming through today, Lenovo apparently figured it might as well hop on. Rather than changing the model name completely, the A55 SFF simply sports a trio of extra letters, a 64-percent smaller enclosure than its larger counterpart, and a claim to be around 25-percent tinier than "the conventional small desktop." Moreover, this wee PC will pack a mysterious Intel Core 2 Duo processor, Windows Vista, DVD writer, an optional floppy drive (saywha?), and a whole smorgasbord of other not-yet-mentioned components within a case not much larger than "your average briefcase." Customers who pick this up will be graced with the outfit's ThinkVantage Technologies, such as Rescue and Recovery and Client Security System, and considering the relatively low starting price of $579, this unit might not be a bad fit for your overly cramped office when it lands next month.[Via 64-Bit-Computers]
