Experience

Dan Cooper has been writing about the future for more than 25 years, and has been tackling the topics big and small for Engadget since 2011. He abandoned a promising career as an intellectual property lawyer to become a technology journalist, where he could sit at home and play with gadgets. His interests include climate change, sustainability, transportation, health, wearables, the interaction of technology and intimacy, arts and culture, and he enjoys Star Trek, too. He has appeared on BBC News, Cheddar, ABC News Radio and BBC Radio, and his work has been featured in the New York Times and The AV Club, amongst many others. One of his career goals is to become the next executive producer of "Doctor Who." When not working, he's performing as an improviser and standup, playing the piano, woodworking, or trying to become a better photographer.

Education

Dan earned his bachelor's degree in law at the University of Kent and his master's degree at the Inns of Court School of Law.
