The Wireless Plus is a portable backup drive that doubles as a WiFi hotspot, letting you stream media files and share data with smartphones, tablets, and other devices. With 1TB of storage, the ability to stream to 3 devices simultaneously, and battery life of up to 10 hours, the Wireless Plus is, as Network World puts it, "essential if you have a ton of multimedia content (let's say more than 64GB) that you'd like to access at any time, or if you want multiple users to access different content from different devices." Wired concurs, saying video playback from the drive is "flawless and basically buffer-free," and that it's well worth its price, "especially if you spend a lot of time on planes, in hotels, or at your in-laws’ house."
As far as size and weight, the Wireless Plus is still a bit large, but it’s smaller than its predecessor and is only barely larger than Seagate’s regular hard drives.
