This week was another stellar week in gaming, despite the fact that many of us in the Massively offices were busy spending our holiday on the beach, together, hugging and shooting fireworks and remembering old times. We have had this tradition for the last 17 years, back when many of us were only in our tweens. Ah, good times. Massively good times. What's that? You missed some of these killer streams that we worked so hard to bring you? It's all right; just follow past the cut to catch up on some of the best moments from the week. Also, be sure to bookmark our livestream schedule to see what we are doing next! This week, we have playtime with Mike as he heads into the blackness of EVE Online and then braves the battlefields of World of Tanks. MJ takes over from there and plays some The Secret World, EverQuest II, and City of Heroes and sees some good times in Vanguard: Saga of Heroes. Richie attacks stuff in the new MOBA SMITE, and I round things out by continuing to beat up the Gloam in Free Realms. Hurry up and die already so we can see the new area, Gloam!

  • BBC launches updated, interactive live video player ahead of Olympics; lines up 'summer of 3D'

As the London Olympics creep closer, BBC is unveiling more of the technology it plans to use to bring the Games home to UK viewers. In the last few days it's shown off both the new live video player shown above, as well as a new Facebook app in beta for BBC Sport. The interactive live video player is built to deliver up to 24 HD streams during the Olympics, along with alerts for key events and extra information and stats. It will work on computers and tablets that support Flash, and for those notable ones that don't, there's a stripped down version for mobiles and iPads that loses the extra interactivity. The BBC Sport Facebook app will also be able to stream the Games, but also let you see if any of your friends are watching the same stream or what sport is the most popular. Finally, the Beeb has lined up what it's calling the "Summer of 3D" with a lineup that includes Planet of the Dinosaur, Last Night of the Proms, Wimbledon and the Olympics. There's a lot going on, hit the source links or check the press releases after the break for the highlights.

Whoa, what a week! It's possible that this last week of livestreaming was the greatest week of all of time! OK, sure, that's open to interpretation, but it is possible that you might have missed the greatest stream ever and never knew it. Luckily for you, I have collected some of the last week's highlights and assembled them into an easy-to-digest pill. Just to be sure to take them on an empty stomach and rest afterward. This week we have some Champions Online and EVE Online action with Mike; Star Wars: The Old Republic PvP with Psykopig; and adventures in Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, EverQuest II and Age of Conan with MJ. I round it off with a livestream of Divina, a new free-to-play Anime title. Be sure to bookmark our livestream guide so you'll never need to ask "What game is this?" in the chatroom again!

Ah, livestreaming: the pastime of kings. And queens, obviously! You'll feel royally blessed this week by watching the livestreams you might have missed. If you want to keep up on the streams so that you don't have to listen to my silly jokes each week, be sure to bookmark our livestream schedule page and check back every week. You can also go to our livestream page, click on "more videos" at the bottom, and knock yourself out. You might be surprised at the streams you find! This week, we have the ever-charming Psykopig PvPing in Star Wars: The Old Republic; MJ pulling off some streams in EverQuest II, Vanguard and Aion; and my taking some time to help fight back the Gloam invasion in Free Realms! Cool stuff! Click past the cut, grab a batch of Chex mix and a root beer, and enjoy!

  • Pivothead live streaming and WiFi Drive hands-on (video)

If you thought live streaming was the obvious next step for the Pivothead video glasses, you're not alone. We, for one, thought it immediately upon donning the HD-recording eyewear and the company's Zach Barbitta couldn't agree more. The proud rep was on hand at tonight's Pepcom event demoing a brand new prototype accessory that will hopefully hit the market in three to five months and enable you to stream video straight from your 8MP sunglasses to the web, anywhere there's a WiFi signal. The device is so early in the development stage that we don't have many details about it. The final package should be roughly the size of a small portable hard drive -- tiny enough to slip into a pocket, provided you're not a skinny jeans fan. You'll have to connect it to the glasses via USB, which could potentially prove unwieldy, but we're sure some creative paths for passing the wire around your torso could easily solve that.

Last week was yet another fun week in Massively's livestreaming history. We try to offer a variety of games for viewers to enjoy, but of course, your suggestions always come in handy. If you know of a game or area or activity within a game that you would love to see explained or streamed, send us a note on our tip line. Also, be sure to bookmark our MVTV guide so you will always be the cool kid on the block who knows what's coming up next! This week we had Mike with some World of Tanks and EVE Online, the infamous Psykopig playing a bit of Star Wars: The Old Republic, MJ streaming some Lord of the Rings Online, EverQuest II and Aion, and my wrap-up with some horrible PvPing in Luvinia Online. Remember, let us know if you are dying to see a game streamed live. In the meanwhile, click past the cut and enjoy!

  • BBC rolls out streaming sports coverage to 3G networks

After giving its iPlayer the nod to stream programming content over mobile networks in the UK, the Beeb has decided to do the same with its BBC Sport mobile site. Not only will you be able to stream live coverage, like the current crop of Euro 2012 football matches, but also any existing video content that was previously desktop-bound. Hit up the source link to give it a try; you'll need Android 2.2 or higher or an iOS device that's packing version 5. Sorry, non-sporting Brits. You're going to find the Olympics pretty hard to miss this summer.

So how did you survive E3? Did you get everything that you wanted this year? No? Well, that's OK; there's always next year. In the meantime, be sure to check out all of our E3 coverage in case you missed anything. I know I missed a lot, and I work here! It's easy to forget that the hardcore office-monkies like yours truly stayed behind and continued on as normal. That means we still streamed our favorite titles for you to watch! So what did you miss? Here are some of the highlights! Mike decided to check out planetary action in EVE Online. We're not sure whether this meant asking a big green orb out on a date, but it sounds interesting! Next, he made a couple of runs through Drakensang Online, stomping newbie PvPers left and right. What a meanie! I jumped into a couple of games for your entertainment, including RuneScape. I wanted to show how the new Runespan worked, and I think I achieved my goal. Lastly I attempted to start a treehouse project in Free Realms, building it up slowly until I had a nice platform to continue from. If you've ever wondered what blank lots were used for in the charming social MMO, check it out past the break!

Missing livestreams is so 2011! There's no excuse now, what with the livestream schedule page going up every week, the constant reminders across Twitter, and the super-cool regulars we have who hang out in the chat room with us. But, alas, some of you do occasionally miss a stream or two and need someone to point out what you might have missed. That someone would be me, and this column is the place to go. Last week we had all sorts of cool stuff. Some of the highlights? First we had Richie with some Diablo III Hell-smashing action, MJ deciding to run some dungeons in EverQuest II and Aion, finishing up her Choose My Adventure run in City of Heroes and checking up housing decorations in Vanguard. I'm known to run a stream or two as well, and this week I showed off the new fully voice-acted quest Song from the Depths in RuneScape. Click past the cut and enjoy!

What a week of livestreaming! We've got quite the variety and tons of hours of video to watch. What's that? You had to work and missed half of the cool streams we showed? Don't worry! I gather all of the best streams from the week's collection and list them for you right here. Still, you need to bookmark our livestream page so you can see which videos are going to be shown during the week, but if you miss any, you can check out the recap here. That's why we do it. This week we had a lot to offer. First we had good old Mike jumping into EVE Online for some space action, then into TERA for some scantily clad combat! He then explores some of the great browser-based game Drakensang Online. MJ brought a ton of goodies to the streaming table, goodies like a run-through in EverQuest II, some base-jumping in City of Heroes, a bit of hardcore survival in Xsyon, and a flight around the beautiful lands of Aion. I rounded out the end by streaming some BatMUD, a cool MUD that has been around since many of you have been in diapers! Click past the cut and grab some popcorn. Keep the butter light but add some salt. Thanks.

Ah, early summer. The air outside is crisp and clear, filled with possibilities. And pollen, lots and lots of pollen. Let's all just avoid that mess and stay inside watching videos all day, huh? In fact, let's start with a series of really cool videos hosted by your favorite MMO site staff! Luckily for you, I have quite a few nice streams to show you this week. Last week's were good -- don't get me wrong -- but this week? This week will live on in your memory until the day you die. We'll start with a bit of EVE Online and TERA gameplay hosted by Mike, then MJ takes over and shows us some EverQuest II, a chunk of Aion, and a batch of City of Heroes craziness. I square off things nice and neat with a visit to Glitch's new housing system. Be sure to bookmark our Livestream schedule page right here so you can follow what is happening in the world of Twitch.tv streaming each week. Now click past the cut and get to viewing!
