Disney buys Fox's studios and cable TV channels for $52 billion
After weeks of rumors, the deal is done -- Disney will buy up large chunks of Rupert Murdoch's Fox media empire for $52 billion. The list of what it won't take is shorter: the Fox News cable channel, broadcast networks and Fox Sports, which are expected to spin off as their own business. The Disney conglomerate adds the Fox movie and TV studios (including big-name franchises like X-Men, Avatar, Alien and The Simpsons), majority control of Hulu, FX cable networks and $13.7 billion in debt. On top of that, Fox is attempting to acquire the parts of UK's Sky that it doesn't already own, and if that's successful then Disney will get it too.
Marvel’s full ‘Black Panther’ trailer shows a ruthless hero-king
Marvel dropped a teaser for its upcoming Black Panther film during the NBA Finals back in June, and our first look at the hero-king was glorious. Chadwick Boseman is electric and imposing as the monarch of the hidden, advanced African nation of Wakanda, accompanied by an incredible supporting cast of allies and villains. Today, the studio released a full trailer that dials up all the action and character conflict we saw earlier.

What's on your HDTV: 'X-Files' Blu-ray, 'The Ridiculous Six'
The new X-Files won't air until next year, but fans can grab the entire existing series run on Blu-ray this week. Available in both a complete series set and as individual seasons, it has every episode (plus 26 hours of extras) available in widescreen with surround sound. The other big Blu-ray release is Marvel's second Cinematic Universe collection, ready to set you up with it's last round of movies. This week Netflix is also presenting its first movie with Adam Sandler, and yes, it's the one with jokes so bad they caused a dozen Native American actors to walk off the set. A better option on streaming is probably season two of Amazon's critically-acclaimed series Transparent. Otherwise there's a slew of fall finales on TV, plus the series finale of The League. Look after the break to check out each day's highlights, including trailers and let us know what you think (or what we missed).

Marvel fans, prepare your wallets for the hefty spending you're going to do this holiday season. The Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase Two Collection will be available exclusively from Amazon on December 8th, for $220, with pre-orders open starting today. This limited edition, 13-disc box set follows the Phase One - Avengers Assembled Blu-ray box released in 2012, and similarly, you can expect to find a slew of goodies here as well. That, naturally, includes the latest Marvel films: Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man. You'll also get exclusive art work from each series, bonus video content like deleted scenes, a 1:1 replica of the Orb and many other rare items. The third round of Marvel Cinematic Universe flicks should wrap up by 2020, so you'll have plenty of time to reflect on these until then.
Recommended Reading: Wearing Google Glass every day for two years
Recommended Reading highlights the best long-form writing on technology and more in print and on the web. Some weeks, you'll also find short reviews of books that we think are worth your time. We hope you enjoy the read. Two Years Through the Looking Glass by Allen Firstenberg I'm pretty sure there's nothing I've done every day for the last two years. Maybe I've taken a vitamin, but I'm sure I missed a day here or there. Allen Firstenberg is way more dedicated to habit than I am, though. He's been wearing Google Glass since he received the headset two years ago and has a load of observations about the past, present and future of the tech.
