Turtle Rock Studios' four-versus-one multiplayer shooter Evolve will receive a number of add-ons following the game's launch in February. For $25, the game's Hunting Season Pass will introduce four new playable hunters this spring, one for each class in the game. Each hunter will also be available for purchase for $7.49 each. Season pass holders will also get exclusive access to three monster skins at Evolve's launch: Magma Goliath, Magma Kraken and Magma Wraith. Turtle Rock Studios also revealed the Behemoth, a fourth playable "tank of a monster" that transforms into a rolling boulder, available this spring for $15. The Behemoth will also be part of the Monster Expansion Pack, a bonus for those that pre-order or pre-purchase Evolve. That expansion pack itself features a free Savage Goliath skin at the game's launch. Additionally, the developer revealed two special edition versions of the game today, each available for pre-purchase. Evolve's Digital Deluxe Edition features the monster-slaying game, its season pass and the Monster Expansion Pack for $80, available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. PC players get a special collector's edition to themselves as well: Evolve's $100 PC Monster Race Edition features the same goodies as the Digital Deluxe Edition as well as a fifth monster, two hunters and four monster skins that will be exclusive to PC Monster Race Edition players for 30 days. Evolve will launch on February 10 and is available to pre-download starting today on Xbox One. While you can find a new trailer for the game to showcase the Behemoth after the break, stay tuned to Joystiq Streams at 4:00 p.m. ET today for a livestream of Evolve in action. [Image: 2K Games]

  • Destiny patch repairs Crota's bum knee

Bungie issued a new patch for Destiny today, primarily providing fixes for issues with the Crota's End raid in the game's first expansion, The Dark Below. As the developer revealed late last week, the update zapped a glitch that allowed players to easily beat the raid boss, Crota, by unplugging one teammate's network cable. The "force quit" by one player previously caused Crota to enter an irrecoverable kneeling state, according to Bungie's patch notes. Additionally, not only does the update fix a "rare case where the Shriekers would not spawn, preventing players from reaching the Deathsinger" enemy in the expansion, but the Deathsinger now has a chance to drop rare exotic gear and materials. The Dark Below launched in December, bringing with it a slew of story missions and three Crucible arenas. The DLC is available for $20 on its own, or as part of Destiny's $35 season pass. The first downloadable expansion for Sunset Overdrive, Mystery of the Mooil Rig, is now available. The DLC adds new story missions to the third-person shooter as well as weapons, Amps, quests and other items. In it, players track a distress signal to an oil rig floating off the coast of Sunset City, where workers, mutants and monstrous creatures all seem pretty angry, as seen in the trailer after the break. As detailed earlier this month, players have two new movement options in Mystery of the Mooil Rig: Water Dive and Water Slam Bounce, the former allowing players to briefly submerge while the latter flings them high in the air after performing a melee smash into the water. The expansion costs $10 on its own, though it is free for those with the $20 season pass. Sunset Overdrive's season pass grants players access to three DLC packs in total, offering a variety of quests, outfits, weapons and more. [Image: Microsoft]

Far Cry 4's "Escape from Durgesh Prison" DLC will be available to download on January 13, Ubisoft announced today. The DLC will have players racing across Kyrat to finish challenges and recover lost weapons, upgrading their gear and skills along the way. Escape from Durgesh Prison will be playable in both single player and cooperative multiplayer modes, but should they die in the DLC, players will have to start the mission over from the beginning. Escape from Durgesh Prison was revealed as part of Far Cry 4's season pass in October, which gives buyers access to multiple add-on missions including the season pass-exclusive DLC, The Syringe. Those without the $30 season pass can still pick up Escape from Durgesh Prison separately for $10. Far Cry 4 launched in November and received praise for its "interesting and absorbing" world in our review. [Image: Ubisoft]

The Evil Within's first piece of downloadable content will launch early next year, Bethesda announced. Named "The Assignment," the add-on is one of two pieces of content that follows Juli Kidman, the partner of Detective Castellanos, the game's main protagonist. The DLC will be available individually at an as-yet-unannounced price, and as part of the survival horror game's $20 three-pack season pass. The Assignment's follow-up is The Consequence, which sticks by Kidman's side before the third DLC, The Keeper, arrives. The Evil Within launched in October and was met with mixed reviews, including our own that noted the game "requires so much repetition that it can't possibly maintain any sense of tension or unease, and its story is told so aimlessly that you'll likely forget the plot between scenes." The game recently received a 1 GB update to fix various bugs and improve its performance. [Image: Bethesda]

Developer Techland has spilled some of the ravenous, undead beans on the DLC players can expect to find in the season pass for its upcoming open-world zombie action game Dying Light. According to a recent tweet, those who purchase the $20 season pass on PC, Xbox One or PlayStation 4 will receive access to three DLC packs. Cuisine And Cargo features two new missions designed to challenge experienced players. The Ultimate Survival Bundle includes three new outfits as well as four new weapon blueprints. The Bozak Horde DLC pack features only one new map, a derelict stadium, but it can be used in both singleplayer or multiplayer gameplay modes. Dying Light will receive its first DLC in February 2015, though Techland offers no timeline for when the studio plans to launch the other two packs. [Image: WBIE]

Everyone who owns Assassin's Creed: Unity will receive the Dead Kings DLC for free once that launches, Ubisoft Montreal and Toronto CEO Yannis Mallat says in a blog post. The freebie is an apology for the technical issues that have plagued Unity since launch. "Unfortunately, at launch, the overall quality of the game was diminished by bugs and unexpected technical issues," Mallat says. "I want to sincerely apologize on behalf of Ubisoft and the entire Assassin's Creed team. These problems took away from your enjoyment of the game, and kept many of you from experiencing the game at its fullest potential." In our review of Unity, we noted that the game was "in dire need of a technical re-tweaking." Today, Ubisoft launched the game's third patch, bringing in more than 300 fixes. Players who purchased the Season Pass for Unity would have already received the Dead Kings DLC, and they are now entitled to one free Ubisoft game from the following lineup: The Crew, Far Cry 4, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed Black Flag, Rayman Legends and Just Dance 2015. After Destiny's cinematic introducing the story of the game's upcoming DLC, The Dark Below, leaked, Bungie opted to issue a more explanatory video. As seen on Game Informer, the developer diary-style trailer discusses the "one way trip" nature of The Dark Below's design. The trailer also introduces Eris Morn, the merchant and primary quest-giver that failed to defeat the DLC's main villain Crota in the past. The Dark Below will launch on December 9 and adds new gear and maps to the game, which are also shown in today's video. The DLC will cost $20, and it is also part of the Destiny's $35 season pass program. Those that buy the expansion will also receive a new Sparrow vehicle capable of performing some fancy tricks. 11.02.2014

As a leak suggested earlier this week, zombies will gather once more to crowd around soldiers in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, according to a press release from GameStop. The mode will be "part of" Advanced Warfare's season pass, a $49.99 purchase that includes four packs of multiplayer maps as well as the bonus Atlas Gorge map. For those who purchase the Day Zero Edition of Advanced Warfare, double XP will be granted for the entirety of Monday, November 3, the game's launch day for those who pre-order. Early buyers will also get the "Advanced Arsenal bullet brass exoskeleton and EM1 Quantum directed energy weapon, plus the AK-12G Assault Rifle and Crossbow-B2 custom weapons." If you were planning on upgrading to a PS4 for Advanced Warfare's release, GameStop is offering $125 in store credit from today until November 9 in exchange of a PS3 (20 GB or higher) or an Xbox 360 (250 GB or higher) traded toward the purchase of a PS4. If you purchase a PS4 along with a matching copy of Advanced Warfare, GameStop will also throw in a year of PlayStation Plus for free. If an Xbox One is more your speed, you might to consider the recently-announced holiday bundles. GameStop's press release does not give a sense of when season pass holders can expect to fend off the undead. Advanced Warfare's leading piece of DLC, the Havok map pack, is due to reach Xbox One first in January, with arrivals on other platforms following. Update: An Activision representative has clarified that the zombies mode is part of the downloadable content map packs and does not require the purchase of the full season pass. The map packs containing zombies will be available a la carte. [Image: Activision]

The upcoming DLC introduces "more tales from Torvin, the Dwarven Hunter, as you work together to tame the beasts of Mordor and fight Sauron's minions." It's now a bit easier to jump inside the cockpit of Titanfall's giant stompy robots thanks to new discounts on both the game and its season pass. Normally priced at $50, this discount reduces the price of Titanfall to $25. The season pass, which is normally $20, is now $8.25. That should be of special interest for anyone thinking of picking up any of Titanfall's three extant DLC map packs which remain priced at $10 each, but are all included in the newly-inexpensive season pass. The NeoGAF posters who discovered these discounts believe they are part of the upcoming Games With Gold slate, though Microsoft has yet to confirm that claim. Whether true or not, the discounts are currently available on the Xbox Live Marketplace and Xbox.com for anyone with an Xbox One and a valid Xbox Live Gold subscription. [Image: EA]
