Mat once failed an audition to be the Milkybar Kid, a cowboy hat-wearing advert creation that attempted to push white chocolate on British children. Despite the early setback, just under two decades later he managed to pull off a three-year teaching stint in Japan with help from world-class internet and a smorgasbord of bizarre DS titles. He now makes a living writing for Engadget in London and spends his free time hunting down good Korean food -- preferably containing octopus.
