Today on TUAW TV Live I'll be moderating a fun discussion with three different guests -- not all at once, but separately so that we can have a nice orderly talk about the subjects that our guests have suggested. I already have my lineup of potential TUAW stars for today, but if you missed your chance today, I'm sure we'll be doing this again in the near future. From your Mac or PC, go to the next page by clicking the Read More link at the bottom of this post, and you'll find a livestream viewer and a chat tool. The chat tool allows you to participate by asking questions or making comments. If you're driving somewhere and would like to watch TUAW TV Live while you're stuck in traffic, please don't -- keep your eyes on the road! However, if someone else is doing the driving, you can watch the show on your iPhone and join the chat by downloading the free Ustream Viewing Application. If you're on an iPad, you should be able to use the Skyfire Browser to watch the stream, although you will not be able to participate in the chat. We'll start at about 5 PM ET, so if you're seeing a prerecorded show, be sure to refresh your browser until you see the live stream. For those of you who are not able to join us for the live edition, you'll be able to view it later this evening on our TUAW Video YouTube channel and as part of the new TUAW TV Live podcast viewable in iTunes or on any of your Apple devices.

Today on TUAW TV Live, I'm going to do something a little different. While I'll still have some demos and new products to go over at the beginning of the show, I'm going to open TUAW TV Live up for some of our viewers to join in and talk about anything Apple. All you need is Skype on a Mac or PC, or FaceTime on a Mac, iPad, iPod touch or iPhone. Why? You're going to be on-screen during the show (makeup is not required). If you're interested in joining in on the show, send an email to tuawsteve at gmail dot com with the following information: • Your name • Your Skype handle or FaceTime contact information • The topic you'd like to discuss on-air I'll contact you if you're going to be one of the participants. You'll need to be available between 5 and 6 PM EDT today. I'll pick a handful of viewers from the submissions for today's show, but don't worry if you're not chosen -- there are plenty of opportunities for you to be on the show in the future. As usual, I'll be starting the show at 5 PM EDT (2 PM PDT / 10 PM BST) sharp. To join in on the chat and watch the live streaming video, drop by TUAW about five minutes before the start time to get your instructions on how to participate. If you're unable to join us for the show, remember that you can always subscribe to the video podcast and watch the show at your leisure in iTunes or another favorite podcatching app.

  • World's largest Etch A Sketch unveiled

In an apparent offering to the retro gadget gods, the world's largest Etch A Sketch was unveiled at the SIGGRAPH conference this week in Boston. And, as if a giant Etch A Sketch wasn't cool enough, it actually works. At the conference, some 3,000 people in the audience were able to control the monolith simultaneously by using two-sided paddles that signaled sensor cameras, letting one side of the audience control the right knob and the other side control the left knob. Things took a tragic turn, however, when the audience tried to shake the Etch A Sketch to erase their drawing, causing the entire structure to come crashing down on top of them, injuring dozens. Ok, just kidding about that last part, but the audience could actually shake the Etch A Sketch.
