Today's broadcasts of Michael Jackson's memorial services have become s big of a television event as there has ever been, with networks domestically planning to cover the proceedings in high definition, but Sky News HD is following up on its broadcast of the Obama Inauguration by taking of the Sky Arts 1 HD channel again, and Cinedigm flicks on its digital distribution network, though not in 3D, it will air the memorial starting at 1 p.m. EST for free at theaters around the country. If not for anything else, this should extend even beyond Presidential Address' ability to compare the audio/video delivery capabilities of different networks, with CNN, Fox, ABC, Fox News, CBS, E! and more broadcasting, plus internet streams available from most (CNN, Sky, CBS, ABC are confirmed), plus Hulu and the StaplesCenter.com website itself. So let us know, which network will you be tuning to / avoiding this afternoon, or are you already switching back and forth with one gloved hand on the remote, comparing camera angles and contrast levels in detail?Update: A live HD stream from Microsoft & Canada's Inmusic.com is available and apparently not subject to geographic restrictions for those tuning in via desktop (Thanks, Aaron) Read - Jackson memorial live in high definition in movie theaters and on TV Read - World will watch Jackson memorial Read - Michael Jackson Memorial In High Definition Read - Media is all about Michael Jackson Read - Michael Jackson Memorial Coverage times / networks

Not much to say outside of the headline here, but FOX News HD is now available on Comcast in Seattle, Washington. Curiously, this seems to be the only addition for now, but hopefully it's just testing the water before it unloads a whole gaggle of 'em before the holidays. Hopefully.

That will be number 57, according to the Observer, as Time Warner Cable follows up on last months additions with Fox News HD on channel 720. Jumping on the free HD tier just in time for the run up to the election, the high definition simulcast of standard Fox News coverage should please all those tuning in. It may have taken time for Buffalo to catch up on HD, but it looks like the streak will go on. [Disclosure: Engadget is part of the Time Warner family]

Without any official word from DirecTV, users across the nation are now reporting that after six months of waiting the HD version of FOX News has finally been added to the satcaster's lineup. Yeah, we wish there were a few others being introduced right alongside of it, but we suppose we're okay with baby steps. Enjoy![Thanks to everyone who sent this in]

Another month, another high-def station for the relatively diminutive amount of ATMC Cable subscribers. The small, North Carolina-based carrier has a knack for making the big fellows look awfully bad, and it's doing so once more by adding Fox News HD to its HD lineup. The newcomer can be found on slot 905, and if this one really isn't your bag, don't worry -- history says ATMC will be adding more in just a bit.

Not satisfied with finding Versus / Golf HD on your EPG a little early? For Time Warner Cable customers located in Brooklyn / Queens, New York, here's another tidbit to appease your insatiable appetite for more high-def. On an updated Channel Changes page for the aforementioned locales, TWC clearly notes that Fox News HD will be headed to those lineups on May 1st in slot 744. Unfortunately, there's no word on when (or if) this newcomer will spread out to other areas, but given the history of TWC not treating all boroughs equally, we wouldn't hold our breath (you hear, Manhattanites?).
