An infrared hairdryer could make hairdrying less hot
This might shock many of you, but it takes me about 30 minutes to dry my hair every night. I have long, coarse hair, a lot of it, and spending that much time shooting hot air at my head gets really heated after awhile. Volo's promise of a hairdryer that could cut that time down as well as keep me cool is intriguing, but it comes with some caveats.

After more than 20 hours of research and interviews; more than 10 hours of putting 12 dryers through speed, heat, and time tests; a holiday season's worth of hairstyling; and working our way through all the marketing claims, we think the Rusk W8less is the best for most people.
This device will tell you just how bad your hair is
If you've ever wanted a more precise analysis of your hair, if you want to add a little tech to your hair care routine, or if you just don't trust your hairstylist, Schwarzkopf has you covered. Henkel Beauty Care and its Schwarzkopf Professional brand are launching a hair analyzer that can supposedly give you a much more detailed assessment on the health of your hair. Using near-infrared and visible light sensors, the device can measure moisture level, inner hair quality and true hair color and can help your hair care professional come up with a personalized color and care plan.
Dyson Supersonic hair dryer solves many of my mane problems
My nightly getting-ready-for-bed ritual takes an excruciating hour or so. (I know, so high-maintenance ... ugh!) Most of that is spent blow drying my thick, long hair. So when Dyson promised it could significantly cut my drying time (perhaps in half, I was told), I was extremely intrigued.

It runs off of two diesel engines so granted, it's probably not the most mass-production friendly item, but does beg the question: What's holding everyone back, then?
Dyson's first beauty product is a hair dryer
Dyson teased its press event this week by sending out tiny, sharp motor parts to journalists (including this one). Now we get to see the rest of the thing. The company's first foray into beauty is, perhaps predictably, a hairdryer. The Supersonic, as it's called, has all the design hallmarks of a Dyson: It's circular and smooth, with a metallic finish and a splash of loud color. Compared to everything that's come before it, however, it's so... small.
