Samsung is expanding S Pen support to more devices
Samsung’s S Pen is mostly associated with its Galaxy Note series, but that’ll most likely change in the coming years. The newly unveiled Galaxy S21 Ultra will come with S Pen support — Samsung will even make standalone S Pens for the device, including a Pro model that enables Bluetooth connection for Air Actions gestures. Samsung Galaxy Note 10 review: The right size at the wrong price
For the first time since launching the Galaxy Note, Samsung has made two sizes of its flagship big-phone. The Note 10+ is a powerhouse, but frankly, I find the smaller Note 10 more intriguing. It has a slightly smaller screen than the Note 9, squeezed into a body that's about the same size as the S10. Yes, it does have a 6.3-inch screen. But it's shoved inside a handset that's ever so slightly larger than an iPhone XS, which has only a 5.8-inch display. This offers a way for people to get the series' hallmark S Pen in something a little less cumbersome than the typically oversized Note.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ review: Weird, but in a good way
I have to suspect that back in 2011 when the original Galaxy Note was released, not even Samsung knew it would become as popular as it did. By the standards of the time, the Note and its 5.3-inch screen were massive, and styluses were considered the mark of an inferior device. Instead of beelining toward the smartphone graveyard, though, the original Note helped redefine what we expected from phones and kicked off a series of hits (plus one spectacular miss). I'll be up front with you though: The Galaxy Note 10+ ($1,099) isn't perfect. Some of the decisions Samsung made here will take a bit of getting used to, and some features felt like they were created for the sake of having something new to talk about. But Samsung has been polishing the Note formula for nearly a decade now, and it's still an incredibly potent one. If you've never felt much affection for the S Pen, I'm not sure the Note 10+ will change your mind. Even so, the Note 10+'s blend of performance, hardware quality and a genuinely useful stylus mean that it's still the best big phone you can buy right now.

The Galaxy Note 10's S Pen doesn't just serve as a remote control wand for Samsung's newest phone, as we saw at Samsung's press conference today, it works its magic in the realm of AR as well. When used in conjunction with the Notes' AR Doodle feature, users will wield their stylus as a mixed reality paintbrush, adding drawings and animations to whatever scene the camera is pointed at.
The Galaxy Note 10 S Pen is also a wand that controls your phone
Today, Samsung confirmed a poorly kept secret. The Galaxy Note 10 S Pen will offer gesture controls, or "Air Actions." This goes one step further than the Note 9 S Pen, which acts as a remote control. Now, you'll be able to control the Note 10 (and Note 10+) with a wave of the stylus. The S Pen will allow you to activate shortcuts and perform specific actions by drawing shapes above the screen. As you can with the Galaxy Tab S6, you'll be able to swish-and-flick to switch between front- and rear-facing cameras and toggle through camera modes.

Samsung is one of the few remaining companies to still be making higher-end Android tablets, so it's nice to see the company show up with a new one this year. The newly-announced Galaxy Tab S6 follows up last year's Tab S4. Like its predecessor, the Tab S6 is a 2-in-1, designed for those who need to get work done on the go. To that end, Samsung focused on a few principles -- a portable, thin and light design, powerful guts and helpful multitasking software. After checking out some early models of the Tab S6, I must say, I'm pretty pleased with the changes Samsung has made since the S4.

It seems like one giant smartphone has been getting all the attention lately, but one of its biggest rivals (literally) is finally set to touch down stateside. Samsung confirmed today that the Galaxy Note 4 will hit the US on October 17, and you can lay claim to yours starting tomorrow from all the usual carrier suspects. We've enjoyed our brief time getting to know the Note 4 and all the little improvements it brings to the table (hello, Quad HD screen!), but here's the thing -- the jury's still out on whether Samsung has done enough with its newest S-Pen experiment to make it worth an immediate upgrade. As always, pricing will vary a bit depending on who you get your service though: a Note 4 with a bog-standard two year AT&T or Verizon contract will set you back $299, while T-Mobile wants nothing upfront and monthly payments of $31.24 for the next 24 months. Alas, our friends across the pond will get a bit of a headstart on us - Notes will drop onto their store shelves a full week earlier.
Samsung builds a social networking app around S Pen doodles
For those who actually unsheathe the S Pen from their Samsung device from time to time (unlike yours truly), there's now away to flaunt your stylus-ing prowess in public. The company has just launched PEN.UP, a social networking app dedicated to digital artwork from suitably-equipped Galaxy devices. Like any good sharing app, you can set up a personal feed containing your own sketches, group them thematically and follow and like others. For those who think drawing is a competitive sport, there's even a hall of of fame where members can vie for champion artist honors.
