Trust us, we've seen some significantly distorted sneak peeks before, but the three Pentax DSLR shots in the links below are certainly amongst the blurriest to ever tease our retinas. Obviously, it's next to impossible to glean anything other than the brand (Pentax) and style (DSLR) from the shots, though we will say that the mode dial's copious amount options has our interest piqued. Give 'em a look if you're not susceptible to motion sickness, and feel free to dish out your wildest accusations in comments below.Update: Could these be non-blurry pics? Or just meaningless renders? You decide. Thanks, Andrew!Read - First sneak peekRead - The other two

Eager to get a few more dirty details on the heretofore elusive Samsung NX Series camera? Sorry, bub. Now that we've destroyed your wildest dreams, ruined your Friday and infuriated you beyond description, we will point out that Sammy has a new teaser video of the camera for all to view, and it's looking mighty special. The curvaceous cam is seen behind glass on an endlessly rotating platform, complete with a fairly large lens, a fairly large rear LCD monitor and... not much else. There's no audio to speak of (or hear, for that matter), but it's still a mesmerizing watch. Peek after the break if you're sitting squarely in the "yes Jim, tell me more!" camp.[Via 1001 Noisy Cameras]

  • Plenty of gems in virtual tour video of Mythic Entertainment offices

The WAR Vault was lucky enough to get an exclusive sneak peek behind the walls of Mythic Entertainment and they captured it on video for all Warhammer Online fans to see. The tour goes way beyond the well-known paper mache squigs and walls of concept art. They actually chat with staff members from many of of the teams including community, combat and careers, RvR, art, design, and even speak with general manager, Mark Jacobs.Staff members are more than happy to answer fluffy questions like: What got you into gaming? and What has been your favourite MMO experience so far? They also field more pressing questions like: How is the RvR/PvE balance? How will the Slayer differ from the table top game? What's changed about the Choppa since he was pulled from beta? What's next for RvR? and How do you attempt to balance 24 careers?Mark Jacobs even fields questions on the most difficult challenge a developer faces making an MMO (expectations) and when we can expect to see a official WAR expansion (they won't be following the old one-expansion-per-year model). Finally, there are even two tiny teasers: 1) a massive pendulum is swinging back and forth in-game, while two developers discuss how the players will interact with it in an RvR setting and 2) Mark Davis talks about some of the interesting mechanics behind the Twisting Tower scenario (bring a barf bag if you experience motion sickness).

  • DirecTV's HR23-700 HD DVR gets an early look

Ah, the pains of progress. Not even two full months after DirecTV's HR22 began filtering out to eager users, in flies a first look at the forthcoming HR23-700. But don't fret -- there aren't too many differences here. It looks as if the HDD of the HD DVR is the same size as that in the HR22, with the major changes being a few cosmetic tweaks and internal swaps that could amount to better picture quality. It still looks as if there's no OTA tuner, and it'll be sporting the same wide band tuners as in the H23. Check the read link for the full writeup, and trust us, there's a lot in there to digest.[Thanks, Anthony]

  • Nokia's E63 spotted at Symbian Smartphone Show

There's really no point in Nokia keeping this one "behind closed doors," as the E63 -- for all intents and purposes -- is official. Look, we've seen the thing mentioned in a cluttered Nokia XML file, we've seen an atypically clear spy shot and now we're seeing it undercover at the London-based Symbian Smartphone Show. After the crew at Mobile Industry Review tracked down someone with the handset discretely hidden in their bag, they did manage to get this quote out of him: "It looks like an E71, but it's plastic." The casing was a bit thicker than the E71, but who knows if it'll get slimmed down before it finally ships. Speaking of -- Nokia, how's about a ship date now that we're onto you?

We knew good and well it was on the way, but now we're bubbling over with excitement. The forthcoming Model S -- an all-electric, five passenger sports sedan that will ride on a platform developed entirely by Tesla -- has apparently been revealed. Of course, there's still a real possibility that the image you're drooling on above isn't a finalized look, but Road & Track has a pretty good record to fall back on. We're also hearing that the 2010-bound whip will get around 240 miles per charge while still doing the zero to sixty in under six ticks, and the $60,000 base price just makes it all the more appealing. For those with a thing for rear bumpers, check out Autoblog's link below for a sneak peek of the fanny.Read - Road & Track writeupRead - Sneak peek of the rear

  • Sony's 16.4-inch VAIO FW laptop gets previewed

Maybe it's the 16.4-inch panel, or maybe it's the built-in Blu-ray drive. Whatever it is, Sony's VAIO FW has garnered quite a bit of attention. Just a fortnight after getting (extra) official, this nimble monster made its way into the loving arms of NotebookReview, where critics couldn't resist giving us a sneak peek before penning the fleshed-out review. We'll just get it out there -- initial impressions are really positive. Fit, finish and build quality were all deemed "excellent," and the overall design was dubbed "beautiful." Performance seemed to be above par during limited testing, though the screen is apt to be one of those love it or hate it ordeals. Check out the read link if for nothing more than a couple more shots.Update: CNET has a full review of the unit.

  • RED delivers new rendering of Scarlet 3K camera

    07.10.2008

From the word go, amateurs and professionals alike were hot for RED's (relatively) minuscule Scarlet. After all, can you really go wrong with a 3K camera in one hand and a Dairy Queen dipped cone in the other? (No, no you cannot.) Nevertheless, those anxious to see more as the run-up to its early 2009 release continues can feast their eyes on an all new rendering. Oh, and if you're the talkative type, tag the read link and join in the 8+ page discussion about that image you're eyes are still fixated on above.[Thanks, anonymous]

For those folks who don't mind -- nay, who strongly prefer -- a terminal screen on their smartphone, we know you've already thrown down the plastic on OpenMoko's FreeRunner. If you're going insane waiting to get your hands on it, what better to do than read through a remarkably thorough writeup detailing the user interface and all the goop behind the pretty scenes that makes this thing tick? Oh, and if you're just now getting up the courage to see what the brouhaha is all about, you've chosen the perfect time to get schooled. See that read link? Hit it.[Via BoingBoing]

  • First spy shot of Virgin Galactic's SpaceShipTwo surfaces

    06.23.2008

It's not often that we get to cover spy shots here at Engadget, but we're as giddy as school children about this one. The SpaceShipTwo design was officially rolled out in January, and if Flightglobal is to be believed, that image above is the first capture of the craft. Reportedly, the shot was taken in Mojave, California where the vehicle is being constructed at Scaled Composites. One step closer to the next big leap for mankind? Sure looks like it.

We already received confirmation that Sky would be freshening up its universally frowned upon EPG with something a bit sweeter, and now UKers are getting a first look at what to expect. Reportedly, the new guide will be entirely in HD and launched in August -- unfortunately, the image above may be the only tease you get (from Sky, anyway) all summer.

    05.28.2008

Don't deny it -- the render / picture / whatever the heck that was of Onda's WiFi-equipped VX777 looked pretty mighty rough. Thankfully for all those potentially interested in this portable media player, the real deal actually looks a good bit nicer than we were led to believe. Not that it's touting a revolutionary design or anything, but like gramps always said, don't fix it if the cool kids aren't fed up yet.

Look out, Alienware -- your fancy new Area-51 ALX has a carnivore hot on its trail. The Acer Aspire Predator, which was officially unveiled yesterday, has already found its way into the loving arms of Bit-Tech. Over there, folks were able to spend a good bit of time with the rig, snap a smattering of photos and dish out some initial impressions. There's some pretty interesting tidbits to be had (for example, every single part possesses its own bar code, the motherboard is a customized MSI nForce 780i SLI, etc.), so be sure and tap the read link to get their view on how this beast will likely shake out.[Thanks, Daren]

  • John Mayer secures a BlackBerry Bold, makes world envious

See how easy it is everyone? All that's required to snag a BlackBerry Bold well before its public release is to become a Grammy award-winning artist, sell out shows worldwide, date a smattering of superstars and convince Fender to create and sell your own branded guitar. While you're off working on step one, John Mayer is living it up with his brand new BlackBerry Bold. Granted, he can't claim to be the very first with said handset, but it's likely the first completely legitimate edition let loose. Of course, once you've landed the Curve and MacBook Air before everyone else on the planet, snagging a Bold is just child's play.

  • Guitar Hero IV drum kit gets pictured, "cymbals" and all

    05.14.2008

Game Informer is at it once more: after securing the first snapshots of Rock Band's prototype drum set and microphone last summer, the gaming mag has now produced the first image of Guitar Hero IV's kit. Apparently designers wanted this one to resemble an actual electric kit a bit more than the one bundled with RB, most evidenced by the pair of "cymbals" perched atop the trio of circular pads. Upon banging on a "first-run prototype" in the Neversoft offices, Game Informer was fairly impressed with the layout, but we're still left to wonder if these will be compatible with Rock Band (or vice-versa). Another faux drum kit in the den and we'll be struggling to maintain sanity (and a functional relationship).[Via Joystiq]

  • Panasonic's FreeSat-enabled VIERA TH42PZ81 gets inspected

    05.08.2008

In case you've haven't seen enough of Panny's VIERA side lately, here comes another fresh face: the FreeSat-enabled TH42PZ81 plasma. Particularly for those who call the UK home, you've likely heard that model number before, but according to Tech Radar, 46- and 50-inch versions are landing in July with FreeSat tuners built right in. Other specs include a 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, V-Real Pro 3 Processor and an obligatory EPG that was said to get the job done without a lot of glitz. Based on early reports, we're hearing that BBC HD looked astounding on the set, while SD images seemed fairly ghastly after seeing content in glorious high-def. Sadly, mum's the word on pricing at the moment, but those with an aging HDTV may just want to hold off on picking up that standalone set-top-box -- if you catch our drift.

  • Live shots of Sony Ericsson's Paris surface, Mr. Blur mysteriously absent

    05.07.2008

Enough of these overly pixelated, totally fuzzed-out captures of something supposed to Sony Ericsson's Paris -- we're looking at the real deal now. This definitely sexy slider has somehow fell in front of someone without hands a-shakin', and a smattering of distinct images are waiting just below in the read link. If you just like to be teased, the snapshots show a 5.0-megapixel camera and confirm that the keypad touts a two-character-per-button layout similar to the P1 -- but really, there's nothing like seeing it for yourself.[Thanks, Kevin]

Sure, you've already treated your eyes to a few less-than-stellar images of the ZN5, but this candybar just got a whole lot clearer. A handful of new images have surfaced over at KeySJ, and they take you all the way around the handset itself and even give you a look at the interface. We know, we've probably already lost you to the read link below, but if you're somehow still here, then here's your unnecessary permission to head on down and indulge. Thanks for caring.[Via JumpAMP]

    02.16.2008

Tired of lookin' at that stock motherboard that supports Intel's latest and greatest gaming platform? Yeah, us too, so we're fairly stoked that HotHardware has rounded up a few snapshots of Asus' upcoming Z7S WS. Said mobo will reportedly feature "dual LGA771 sockets that support Intel Xeon 5000, 5100, and 5300 series processors of both the dual and quad-core varieties." Additionally, you'll find a pair of gigabit Ethernet jacks, a plethora of expansion slots, six DDR2 DIMM slots and support for 1600MHz / 1333MHz / 1066MHz / 800MHz front side bus speeds. Go on, tag the read link for a few more looks and even more technobabble.

Just in case Walt's teaser shot and pages upon pages of specifications weren't enough to satisfy your curiosity about the forthcoming X300, we've got a pretty good idea the photos waiting in the link below just might. Sure enough, we've come across a number of crystal clear (gasp!) shots of the yet-to-be-released ultraportable, and while it's totally devoid of aluminum, we still maintain that it's undoubtedly sexy in its own way. Go on, you're just one click away.
