Microsoft is adding over a dozen new games to the Xbox Game Pass subscription service, including popular online multiplayer title PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG). The Fortnite rival will be available to play starting on November 12th, giving you ample time to get used to it on the platform before Thanksgiving break. In December, the service will also start offering three unusual gaming experiences: side-scrolling puzzle game Ori and the Blind Forest, Kingdom Two Crowns (which has co-op split screen gameplay) and the critically acclaimed dark fantasy Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. Microsoft is making Thief of Thieves available on the service starting today, as well, and will add Agents of Mayhem, MXGP3 and Thomas Was Alone on November 22nd.

Microsoft's vision for the Xbox as a service might become clearer in the very near future. Windows Central has heard that Microsoft is prepping a Xbox All Access subscription that would bundle an Xbox One console, Xbox Live Gold and an Xbox Game Pass for a single flat rate on a two-year contract. You'd pay $22 per month if you could get by with an Xbox One S, while 4K fans would pay $35 per month for an Xbox One X. That would be slightly more affordable than paying for everything separately, and you'd own your console when the contract expired.

Xbox's July update is rolling out to consoles today, and it introduces an exciting feature: FastStart. It's designed to prioritize the files necessary to start playing a game and download those first. That way, you can cut down the time between downloading a game and firing it up.

If you like the thought of speeding up access to Xbox Game Pass titles with FastStart, you don't have to wait until the finished Xbox One update arrives later in June -- you can try it right now. Microsoft has rolled out FastStart to both its Xbox One Preview Beta members as well as some Delta Ring users. As the company outlined at E3, it uses machine learning to make titles playable roughly twice as quickly as before by downloading just those elements you actually need to get started.

With little fanfare, Microsoft has announced that it's launching a new gaming cloud division, a move that would set the company up to enter the world of game streaming. As The Verge reports, it's something Microsoft been building up for a while with the acquisition of small companies like PlayFab, which is focused on game development in the cloud. The company also has the basic structure of what a cloud streaming offering could look like with Xbox Game Pass, its subscription service that gives players access to large library of games for $10 a month.

Just when you thought you were safe, it's time to fight for survival again. State of Decay 2 is coming on May 22nd, and it's bringing a zombie invasion the likes of which players have never seen before. As we revealed in our preview last year, the sequel takes "kill or be killed" to a whole new level, as you'll be heading up a team of survivors and ultimately deciding who lives or dies. The game launches on Xbox One and PC, with two access tiers that suggest the State of Decay franchise is paving the way for the subscription gaming service that Xbox chief Phil Spencer has nodded towards before.

If you've been thinking about trying out the Xbox Game Pass, but don't want to risk the normal $10/£8 price, Microsoft has a deal for you. It's offering the first month of membership for $1/£1, giving you access to well over 100 games. It's also offering Xbox Gold for $1/£1, so Xbox is clearly trying to push users onto memberships over the holidays. This month, new titles include Gears of War 4, Darksiders: Warmastered Edition, Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter and others.

Microsoft has kept its promise to add more backwards compatibility to the Xbox One, enabling owners to play select Xbox 360 titles on the new machine. But it's the console's Game Pass that shows the most promise: A Netflix-style monthly subscription service giving access to old and new games. While Xbox Live Gold members got early access last week, Game Pass is now live for anyone with an Xbox One.

Remember when we told you that Microsoft was launching its own Netflix-style subscription service for games? Well, thanks to Danny McBride, we now know that it's coming to an Xbox One near you on June 1st. As we reported previously, Xbox Game Pass will set you back $10/£8 a month, allowing users to download anything they wish from a library of over 100 Xbox 360 and Xbox One titles. The initial lineup looks fine, if unremarkable, featuring the likes of Halo 5: Guardians, Payday 2, NBA 2K16 and Soul Calibur II. While we know a handful of other titles coming to the service, the vast majority of the 100 plus game library still remains unknown.

If you've got a hankering for some NFL playoff ball but will be away from your TV or out of the country, no problemo! The league wants your eyeballs (and money) anyway. You'll be able to get all postseason games online, including the Super Bowl and Pro Bowl, via CBS, NBC, FOX and ESPN's streaming services, assuming you have a cable subscription. All the games will be available with Verizon as well, provided you have either a More Everything plan or NFL Mobile premium pass at $5/month. You can also catch every playoff tilt outside North America online in HD via the NFL's Game Pass service in 230 countries for around $70.
