After a jaunt through the crowdfunding circuit earlier in the year, Canon's clip-on Ivy Rec camera is making its way to retailers. Starting later this month, you'll be able to buy the cute camera for $129.99 in four different colors: blue, green, pink and black. And while it won't win any spec sheet comparisons with its 13-megapixel sensor, what it will do is survive tumbles and the occasional swim. According to the Canon, the body is IP68-certified water-resistant, meaning it can stay submerged at a depth of 6.6 feet for approximately 30 minutes. It's also shockproof when dropped from as high as 6.6 feet.

Apart from its real-but-not-ready foldable, Motorola is best known these days for churning out respectable smartphones for people on a budget. Those devices — like those in the Moto G and E series — offer some of the best performance you can find for under $300, and over the past year, they've helped Motorola creep steadily toward profitability. They aren't, however, all that interesting as phones. Motorola gets that, and it's changing. Those classic G and E product lines aren't going anywhere, but the Lenovo-owned smartphone brand has been breaking out of its rut lately with the help of its Motorola One devices — more stylish mid-range phones with an emphasis on novel features. And of Motorola's small handful of One devices, the new Motorola One Action is easily the strangest.
DJI takes on GoPro with the Osmo Action camera
The action camera space has a new player: DJI. Today, the company revealed Osmo Action ($349), its first ruggedized, compact shooter. The Osmo Action, which is designed to compete with GoPro's Hero line, features a 1/2.3-inch sensor capable of capturing 12-megapixel photos, 4K and 4K HDR video. It also comes with electronic image stabilization (EIS), which is going to come in handy during your adventures. But what really makes the Osmo Action stand out are its dual displays: There's a 2.25-inch touchscreen on the back and a 1.4-inch on the front, the latter of which has 800 nits of brightness that will help it be useful in direct sunlight.
