Bang & Olufsen's Beoplay E8 Sport are pricey wireless earbuds for workouts
B&O’s press release doesn’t go into much detail, but since the E8 Sport is based on the E8 3.0, battery life should be around seven hours on the buds. Like the E8 3.0, the E8 Sport is $350 (350€/£300).
Bang & Olufsen Beoplay E8 true wireless earbuds review
If it ain't broke, make small tweaks to improve it anyway. That's not quite how the old saying goes, but that's the approach Bang & Olufsen took with its third-generation E8 true wireless earbuds ($350). The best aspects of last year's E8 2.0 are back alongside small improvements to size and battery life. Despite great sound and handy features, there's one glaring omission. And at this price, I expect all bases covered.
Save over $200 on B&O's H9i headphones, but only for a few hours
My issues with Bang and Olufsen headphones have never been sound quality, design or features. It almost always comes down to price. Premium audio brand commands a premium price. But despite a refined design, crisp sound and nice overall comfort, it was impossible to recommend the H9i at its full price of $499. There were simply better options available for $100 less even though I scored the H9i a solid 86. For Black Friday, Amazon has knocked over $200 off the full price of these wireless over-ear headphones, which makes them much easier to recommend.
The best true wireless earbuds you can buy this holiday season
True wireless earbuds have become a staple when it comes to audio accessories. Over-ear noise-cancelling headphones are still a thing, but many companies have turned their attention to the tiny speakers you nestle in your ears. The advantage for consumers is that there are more options than ever to choose from. New models are popping up all the time with refined designs, new features, improved battery life and other advancements. With no shortage of choices though, it can be difficult to cut through the clutter to determine which ones are worth your money. We've compiled a list of the best true wireless earbuds available, along with some tips on what to look for as you shop during the holidays.
Bang & Olufsen's pricey H8i headphones are currently $250 at Best Buy
We liked Bang & Olufsen's H8i headphones between their premium construction, clear audio and comfort, but the $399 price was tough to swallow when the competition offered solid sound for less. Cost won't be an obstacle right now, though. Best Buy has dropped the price of the H8i to $250 as part of a clearance sale, making a pair far easier to justify if you're determined to put that upscale audio on your ears.
B&O adds Google Assistant to its pricey H9 headphones
High-end electronics manufacturer Bang and Olufsen is back with a set of headphones that are made for the power listener. The latest version of the company's flagship Beoplay H9 headphones promise a whopping 25 hours of wireless playtime from its built-in battery. That's seven hours longer than the company's previous Beoplay H9i managed on a single charge.
Bang and Olufsen's gorgeous OLED TV has 'wing' speakers that fold out
Samsung and Huawei's folding smartphones can't have all the fun. Bang and Olufsen's Beovision Harmony is its latest high-end TV design that uses a 77-inch LG OLED TV (nice choice right there), wrapped in a very stylish frame and audio package that feels somewhere between a pop-up book mechanism and a butterfly wing. Made from oak and aluminum, the pair of fronts disguise the giant screen by partially covering it with an eye-catching teak oak and aluminum design, or a more restrained two-tone fabric and aluminum effect.
B&O's limited-edition Beoplay H9i has an aluminum carry case
Bang & Olufsen is teaming up with premium luggage maker Rimowa for a limited-edition version of the Beoplay H9i headphones. There's a focus on aluminum here, as the headphones will have a warm light grey finish and come with an aluminum Rimowa carrying case. As with the standard H9i, they include active noise-cancellation and a touch interface.
B&O Play made a portable Bluetooth speaker, no, we're not kidding
Back in September, at the last press day of German trade show IFA, I should be hauling-ass across the show floor. Instead, I'm waiting outside by the taxi rank, sucking down secondhand smoke of the booth attendants on their breaks and hoping that my ride hasn't forgotten me. Soon after, a pitch-black Audi S8 glides to a halt by my feet, and I know that either the CIA is about to tackle me, or this is my ride to Bang & Olufsen's top-secret, off-site testing area.
Bang & Olufsen's BeoVision Avant is a 55-inch UHD TV that moves
As a group of journalists huddled together in a function room, deep within a central London hotel, a wide, framed display stands before them. Walled on three sides, a long, Bang & Olufsen-branded curtain hangs across the front-facing section -- clearly hiding whatever product the company has gathered them there to announce. The host spares everyone a long intro, the curtain dramatically drops (was there a small theatrical "pop"? We can't be sure.). As the veil falls to the ground, three fancy looking television sets are revealed, they spring into life, revolving on their stands as if slowly lurching towards the audience. A short, lively video plays. The demo finishes to one, well-intended, solitary clap. Hanging above the TVs, right in the middle it reads: Bang & Olufsen BeoVision Avant "The one that moves." On each screen, as if by way of clarification, the words "Movement with purpose" are displayed. This is how the Danish firm introduces the world to its new 55-inch 4K TV. The one that moves.
B&O's dishy BeoPlay A9 speaker nabs Spotify Connect
Granted, $2,700 is still a pretty steep price to pay, but if you've already bit the hi-fi bullet and picked up Bang & Olufsen's satellite dish-inspired BeoPlay A9, you'll probably be happy to learn that the speaker just got Spotify Connect. If you're a premium subscriber to the streaming service (more money, we know), you can hit play on the speaker to stream your music from the cloud, the minute you get home. You can control the music from your mobile device, but you don't have to worry about pairing it with the speaker. Hey, no one ever said convenience was cheap.
