Future Netflix original shows rated TV-14 or lower and movies rated PG-13 or below will no longer include depictions of smoking or e-cigarette use, except in cases of historical or factual accuracy. The service will also avoid showing smoking or e-cigarette use in more adult-orientated projects "unless it's essential to the creative vision of the artist or because it's character-defining (historically or culturally important)," it told Variety.

Fortnite is no stranger to big-budget entertainment collaborations. It's already welcomed Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and Hawkeye as part of its Endgame mode and let players stealthily assassinate their rivals via its recent John Wick partnership. For a while now, Epic Games has teased the introduction of something a little more paranormal as part of a tie-in with Netflix's Stranger Things. With Season 3 of the smash TV series only a day away, the Fortnite world has become a touch more threatening, with dark portals appearing in the games' popular Mega Mall area.

In the US, this week is interrupted by the July 4th holiday, and Netflix is celebrating by releasing season three of Stranger Things to take us on another trip back to the '80s. Even if you're not up to binge it on Thursday morning, don't forget there's also a game coming out for all the major systems, while anime fans can enjoy another new release with season three of Kakegurui. Otherwise, gamers should check out Sea of Solitude, a "brilliant, emotional horror show" we've been waiting years to play, while on Switch, Dream Daddy and What Remains of Edith Finch are making their debuts. On Tuesday night, ESPN is airing a new 30 for 30 about the Nathan's hot dog eating contest that focuses on the rivalry between Joey Chestnut and Takeru Kobayashi. Look after the break to check out each day's highlights, including trailers and let us know what you think (or what we missed).

'Stranger Things 3' pays respect to the power and perils of tech

Warning: While we've tried to avoid any spoilers in this story, the following article does refer to scenes and themes throughout the season. When members of the Stranger Things cast visited The Tonight Show earlier this month, Jimmy Fallon asked them to use one word to describe the new season. "Bigger," said Gaten Matarazzo, who plays the role of Dustin Henderson in Netflix's '80s-nostalgia-mining hit show. And Matarazzo wasn't kidding. During its first two seasons, Stranger Things mostly centered around the kids' homes and their high school in Hawkins, Indiana. Although it did also include forms of them in the alternate dimension known as the Upside Down. But in Stranger Things 3, which premieres on July 4th, that world is getting even bigger thanks to new characters, new local attractions, new cities and new countries becoming an essential part of the story.

Since premiering in July 2016, Stranger Things has become an award-winning and widely-appreciated Netflix series. Season three is almost ready for release on July 4th -- along with a game for Xbox One, PS4, Switch, PC and mobile devices -- and after a few brief teasers Netflix has delivered a "final trailer" that gives us some strong hints of how things are going in 1985-era Hawkins, IN. (If you'd like to go into it fresh then I don't recommend reading further or watching it.)

Netflix made it clear last month when it announced its E3 panel that its gaming ambitions extend beyond Stranger Things 3: The Game (and the Dark Crystal tie-in that was revealed this week). At the panel, it revealed what's next: more Stranger Things. Netflix is teaming up with Helsinki developer Next Games (The Walking Dead: Our World) for a mobile RPG/puzzle game based on the series.

Netflix's Stranger Things already has a number of unusual if appropriate tie-ins, but this latest might top them all if you're a die-hard fan. Lego is releasing a 2,287-piece Stranger Things set that recreates both the Byers' home and its Upside Down equivalent in uncanny-if-blocky detail, including eight of the core characters. There are plenty of little touches -- you'll see functioning Christmas lights in the Byers' living room, while Eleven can travel with an Eggo waffle in hand.

A judge for the Los Angeles Superior Court this week denied a motion for summary judgment from the Duffer Brothers. The trial is scheduled to begin on May 6th.

When the Duffer Brothers said Stranger Things 3: The Game would tie in with the third season of the Netflix series, they weren't kidding. Bonus XP's suitably retro beat-em-up is due to launch on the Switch (and most likely other platforms) on July 4th, or the same day Stranger Things 3 is available to stream. The title has you playing one of 12 protagonists from the series and battling through events from the show, including the Starcourt Mall that has been at the center of Netflix's teasers from day one.

After giving us a brief Stranger Things 3 teaser yesterday, Netflix is treating us to the show's full-blown trailer. The clip crams plenty of action into its almost three-minute-long duration, with more nods to Spielberg (possessed toys for the Poltergeist fans), the dawn of '80s consumerism (malls and ice cream parlors), and enough spandex to please Olivia Newton-John.

Stranger Things season 3 won't be coming out until Independence Day, but you can get your Upside Down fix way before it lands on Netflix. The sci-fi hit's first companion novel entitled Suspicious Minds just came out a few days ago, but Netflix has already announced a second one called Darkness on the Edge of Town. The second novel will drop on June 4th, a full month before season 3 becomes available for streaming, giving you enough time to finish and digest the prequel novel before diving into the new episodes.

File this one under "things we knew were happening but were waiting on official confirmation." Surprising absolutely no one, Netflix's '80s-flavored sci-fi romp Stranger Things is getting a second season.
