We'll admit, we had our suspicions that Teclast's capacitive multitouch-packing T50 would arrive with an eerily similar user interface to some other device out there, and a ten minute video review recently tossed up by MP4Nation thoroughly confirms those fears. In all seriousness, this thing may actually not be a half bad unit, but whether or not you're really interested in such an impostor, it's worth checking the video after the jump for laughs alone.[Thanks, Edwin]

Teclast has always turned out some decent-if-unspectacular PMPs, and its latest, the T50, is basically more of the same -- but adds in a capacitive multitouch display. Apart from that, details are rather sketchy -- and the product shots pretty renderiffic -- so there's not much else to judge, but the promised RVVB, FLV, and dual independent audio processors will make this one to check out if it ever hits our shores.[Via thegadgetsite]

Leave it to iriver to take a chance with their industrial design. While their unconventional T50 and T60 DAPs aren't yet available Stateside, the good people of pocketables still mananaged to import the devices for a full review. Their take? Well, besides the interesting pocket bulge created by the Toblerone-shaped device, the "wobbly" joystick "more often than not" resulted in miscues when navigating the menus. Incidentally, the GUI on the devices is unlike any other iriver device out there so even brand-loyal customers can expect a slight learning curve. Overall they found the players to be of exceptional value for the audio quality and feature set. Really, what more can you ask for? Oh right, usable controls. You can check the players in action after the break.

While we might like iRiver best for its Clix and W10 hawterness, the company hasn't forgotten those poor unfortunate souls who can't afford to drop a few hundies on a PMP device. To that end, iRiver is busting out the T50 player today, which runs on a single AAA battery, boasts 52 hours of playback, sports 1GB of flash memory, and has a teensy 1-inch CSTN LCD. The player is a followup to iRiver's T10, which came out in 2005, and the T50 thankfully does away with a good bit of bulk and frumpiness of that player. Codec support is solid, with MP3 / WMA DRM10 / OGG, and even BMP veiwing for good measure. Of course, iRiver has an FM tuner and voice recorder in here as well. The T50 will be out on April 15th in white and black versions, both retailing for 9,980 yen ($85 US).

  • LG's FM37 touch-screen MP3 player (and others) outted in Korea

Pictured above is a bit of good news in the shadow of LG's market pummeling this morning. That's the official graduation photo of LG's new 10.4-mm thin FM37 (AKA, the &37) digital media player. It packs 2GB (249,000KRW / $266) or 4GB (299,000KRW / $320) of storage, support for MP3/WMA/OGG playback and e-Books, enough battery for up to 24-hours of audio or 3-hours of unspecified video, and a "Mobile XD Engine" for supposedly improved picture quality on that 2.4-inch TFT LCD touch display -- that's right, touch. After the ballyhooed launches of the KE850 and iPhone, could it be any different? Also announced is the Mini Muvi FM33 followup to the FM35 DMB and MP3 player released in May. It squeezes in 1GB/2GB/4GB of flash and a 1.77-inch TFT LCD into a 42 x 70.5 x 12.5-mm audio player for 149,000KRW ($159), 179,000KRW ($192), and 239,000KRW ($256), respectively. Bringing up the rear is the do all, Music&Movie DMB T50 which brings either 1GB or 2GBs of audio and video capacity in addition to that sweet, mind-numbing, tiny TV ache for 189,000KRW ($202) or 249,000KRW ($266). Pics of the others after the break.Update: CDPkorea has a more details on the FM37 along with tons of pics. We now know that the 63-gram FM37 packs an FM tuner, a QVGA 320 x 240 display, and support for AVI and WMV video formats. Check the gallery for all the pics.%Gallery-1330%
