It's now clearer just how Behaviour Interactive and Warner Bros. resolved that Bethesda lawsuit over Westworld Mobile's similarity to Fallout Shelter... and it's not looking good for the android theme park contingent. Behaviour and WB have pulled Westworld Mobile from app stores and disabled in-app purchases for the management game. You can still play for now, but it'll shut down altogether on April 16th.

Back in June 2018, Bethesda filed a lawsuit against Behavior Interactive and Warner Bros, accusing them of ripping off Fallout Shelter. In its suit, the developer stressed the similarities in features, design, art style and gameplay between its free-to-play mobile title and Behavior's Westworld game for iOS and Android. Their legal battle is now over, but if you were expecting a dramatic conclusion, we're afraid you'll be sorely disappointed -- the companies have jointly announced that they "have amicably resolved the lawsuit."

Bethesda Softworks filed a lawsuit this week against Behavior Interactive and Warner Bros., alleging that the new Westworld mobile game is a "blatant rip-off" of its Fallout Shelter, Polygon reports. The company cites a number of reviews of Westworld that noted the similarities and points to specific parts of Westworld's gameplay and imagery that it says are largely indifferentiable from Fallout Shelter. "Working with the same copyrighted computer code used by Fallout Shelter, Westworld has the same or highly similar game design, art style, animations, features and other gameplay elements as Fallout Shelter, all of which are owned by Bethesda," the company says in its suit.

Mobile games have been making their way to consoles at a semi-regular clip lately. Most recently it was Square Enix Montreal's series of Go titles moving to PlayStation 4, and now Fallout Shelter is making its way to Xbox One and Windows 10. Now, it was already available on Steam, but this version offers Play Anywhere features like cloud-sync and shared achievements between the platforms. So, it's a little different.

Fallout Shelter has evolved past its mobile confines and it's set to hit PC in July, Bethesda announced today at E3. Plus, Fallout Shelter will get an update in July that introduces quests and adds a new combat system, characters, foes and locations. Hey, we told you Fallout Shelter was getting more like Fallout 4. Fallout 4 is also getting bigger and badder with three new pieces of DLC: the Contraptions Workshop, Vault-Tec Workshop and a Nuka-World theme park experience. The game has already received three bits of downloadable content with the Automatron, Wasteland Workshop and Far Harbor expansions, all of which were included in the game's $30 Season Pass. The add-ons announced at E3 are included in the original Season Pass.

We still don't have exact timing for the upcoming Fallout 4 add-on packs and survival mode, but perhaps a pretty sizable update to Fallout Shelter is an olive branch of sorts. For the most part, the patch brings a level of parity between the console and mobile game with the addition of armor and weapons crafting, a day-and-night cycle and Vault Dweller customization by way of a new room type (a barbershop). Oh, and because Bethesda doesn't discriminate against non-four-legged creatures in terms of pet ownership, parrots are joining a few new cats and dogs in your underground utopia.

Fallout Shelter is a nifty little mobile game that puts you in charge of your very own post-apocalyptic Vault in the Fallout universe. It's your job to make sure the Vault Dwellers are as happy, healthy and protected as possible -- which is sometimes trickier than it sounds. Fallout Shelter launched for iOS on June 14th directly after Bethesda's E3 2015 conference, and now we know when it's coming to Android devices: August 13th.
