Novation’s Bass Station II is considered a modern classic in the synth world. In fact, even though the core three-oscillator analog sound engine is unchanged, the 2020 version of the Bass Station II feels like a completely different instrument from the one launched in 2013. One of the biggest additions came last year in AFX Mode (we’ll get to the details later), which was created in collaboration with Aphex Twin himself, Mr Richard D. James.

It's teaming up with Rick and Morty co-producer Justin Roiland on a limited-edition Pocket Operator, PO-137. The vocal synthesizer and sequencer will come with a built-in microphone and eight different character sampling options -- all voiced by Roiland.

The GoPro Hero 7 Black lived up to part of its namesake by actually being, well, black instead of silver or gray like previous models. If that new lick of paint wasn't enough, you'll soon be able to get it in a limited edition white (or "dusk white" in GoPro's words) version. According to the company, this is the first special colorway of its flagship snapper. And, yes, it's still called that despite being the tonal opposite.

  • Samsung's Iron Man edition Galaxy S6 Edge lacks J.A.R.V.I.S.

With Samsung being an active promoter of Marvel's latest Avengers movie, it's no surprise to see the tech giant releasing some sort of special edition product to sweeten the deal. Why yes, it's an Iron Man limited edition Galaxy S6 Edge with matching red-and-gold color theme -- something that HTC should have done a while back. This curved 64GB device is quite a looker, and the special package even comes with an "arc reactor" wireless charger plus a clear cover, but you'll have to make do with Google Now instead of the snarky J.A.R.V.I.S. Here's the real bad news, though: right now Samsung is only releasing this phone in South Korea on May 27th, followed by China and Hong Kong in June. So while you're searching for the earliest flights to Asia, feel free to keep yourselves entertained with the official unboxing video after the break.

The first-off-the-line Anniversary Edition PlayStation 4 went for ¥15.135 million in an online charity auction last night, which converts to a stunning $128,000. Sony Japan's auction ended this weekend with the huge bid on the special grey console, which is unit "00001" of 12,300. "We appreciate all who participated in the auction and are surprised at the highest bid price, which was higher than our expectations," a Sony representative told the Wall Street Journal, perhaps with an agape mouth and a lack of blinking.

The Batman: Arkham Knight Limited Edition is $62.76 for both Xbox One and PS4 on Wal Mart's site, though it's unclear why or for how long. The Limited Edition normally costs $100 and includes a custom art book, a steelbook case, Batman: Arkham Knight #0 comic, an exclusive character skin pack, and a Batman Memorial statue. This could be a glitch sale, so maybe jump on this hotness while you still can. Batman: Arkham Knight launches for PS4, Xbox One and PC on June 2. [Thanks, Patrick!] [Image: Warner Bros.]

A few months ago we brought you a detailed explanation of what can be found in the limited edition version of Arc System Works' upcoming fighter Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-. Now we know when it will reach North America: December 23. According to North American publisher Aksys Games, the limited edition release was originally slated to appear earlier, but labor strikes at California's docks made it impossible to nail down a launch date that could guarantee sufficient copies of a release that includes the exceedingly attractive Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- alongside a soundtrack, keychain, art book and premium box. "In conjunction with our partners, Aksys Games has been working hard to mitigate this postponement," states the publisher's release date announcement. "We'd like to apologize for the delay and thank all our fans for their patience in this matter." The limited edition version of Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- will be available for both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 consoles. On the former machine it will feature a $70 price tag, while the new-generation version of the limited edition is priced at $80. If you don't need any of the these extras and just want to buy the game itself, you can pick up Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- on December 16 for $60. [Image: Aksys Games]

If you didn't manage to snatch up one of the 20th anniversary PS4s that went on sale yesterday, Project SkyLight can help your PS4 stand out from the crowd. A PlayStation Blog post explains that Project SkyLight will involve the arrival of hard drive faceplates, with designs featuring LittleBigPlanet 3 and The Order: 1886 kicking off the initiative. Both faceplates are currently available for $24.99 apiece through Sony's online store, but if you'd prefer to hold out for a different theme, the related post notes plans to launch additional designs "in the near future." Project SkyLight also involves plans for "a few other fun enhancements," with further details said to be shared "soon." If either of the announced faceplates pique your interest, consider making your purchase sooner rather than later: faceplates are being offered in "very small quantities," and considering how quickly PlayStation fans can deplete limited stock, Project SkyLight's original pieces could go quickly. You can now pre-order Sony's limited edition PlayStation 4 designed to celebrate the PlayStation brand's 20th anniversary by heading to Sony's online store and throwing down $500. Better hurry though, as there are only 12,300 of these special gray consoles to be purchased, and we imagine enthusiasm for such an item will run high. Update: Well, that didn't take long. Less than 12 hours after pre-orders went live, the entirety of the 20th Anniversary Edition PS4 stock has been claimed. [Image: Sony]

Back in the nineties, Nintendo showed the world the future, and that future was translucent plastic and circuit boards. Both the Game Boy Pocket and Game Boy Color offered see-through casing, not to mention the Game Boy Advance a few years later, and kids everywhere loved them. Now, Nintendo's treating us to a pair of new 2DS handhelds crafted in the same mold.

Square Enix's Dynasty Warriors-styled action-RPG Dragon Quest Heroes will launch for PlayStation consoles in Japan on February 26, but series fanatics can grab a special edition PlayStation 4 adorned with a Metal Slime later this year. The Metal Slime PlayStation 4 retail package debuts in Japan on December 11, bundling a limited-edition console with a silver DualShock 4 controller, a code for a Dragon Quest Heroes PS4 theme, and a voucher that allows console owners to download Dragon Quest Heroes 24 hours before it hits store shelves. If you'd rather not coat your console in metallic goo, the Metal Slime figurine itself is detachable. Look at that goofy grin, though! How could you even think of removing it from its rightful place atop the PS4? You monster. Square Enix additionally revealed that Dragon Quest Heroes will run at 60 frames-per-second on the PlayStation 4, while the PS3 edition is locked at 30 FPS. Neither Dragon Quest Heroes nor the limited-edition PlayStation 4 have been announced for a North American release. [Video: Sony / Square Enix]
