Motorola's first high-end phone in years may have a 'bezel-free' display

Motorola hasn't really produced a flagship-quality phone since the Moto Z3, but it might make up for lost time with a device that ticks the latest checkboxes. Onleaks and Pricebaba have shared renders of what they say is the Motorola Edge+, a 6.7-inch phone with high-end if familiar specs. Most notably, it'd revolve around a "bezel-free" (on the sides, at least) curved screen reminiscent of the Huawei Mate 30's waterfall display, albeit with a smoother 90Hz refresh rate. If the imagery is accurate, the Edge+ would also have an incredible small hole-punch camera. We can't imagine such a small sensor taking great photos, but it would be less disruptive than the camera cutouts on other devices.

Leaks of Sony's Xperia 5 Plus show bigger screen, better camera

Sony's Xperia 5 was a welcome refresh, but its 6.1-inch size made it a tough sell if you wanted a large phone. Relief may be on the horizon, though, and you'll apparently get considerably more than just a bigger screen. OnLeaks and SlashLeaks have posted renders and specs for an Xperia 5 Plus that would improve the specs all around. You could expect a 6.6-inch OLED screen (thankfully flat), and the triple rear cameras would be joined by a time-of-flight sensor for portrait mode photos.

LG may have a simple approach to fighting the next Galaxy S phone -- offer a no-nonsense flagship. Well-known tipster OnLeaks and CashKaro have shared CAD-based renders of what they says is the G9, and it appears to be a slightly refined take on the G8X that revolves around practical upgrades. You'd get four rear cameras instead of two, and LG would join the modern Android era with an in-display fingerprint reader. You might also see a bump in size to a screen between 6.7 and 6.9 inches.

Google's budget Pixel 4a phone may pack a hole-punch camera

The Pixel 3a was as much a step forward for Google phones as it was a scaled-back budget phone, and that might true for its sequel. Well-known tipster OnLeaks and 91Mobiles have posted renders purporting to show the upcoming Pixel 4a, and its centerpiece would be a 5.7- or 5.8-inch display with a hole-punch selfie camera -- yes, the low-cost handset might have a slicker-looking display and thinner bezels than the full-on Pixel 4. That would likely rule out face-based sign-ins (there's a fingerprint reader on the back) and hands-free radar gestures, although some might consider those omissions a positive given how finicky they can be.

OnePlus may return to low-cost phones with the 8 Lite

OnePlus might be returning to truly low-cost phones years after the OnePlus X faded away. OnLeaks and 91Mobiles have posted renders and early tidbits of what they say is the OnePlus 8 Lite, a budget model that would sit below the rumored OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. Not surprisingly, this phone would scale back to 'just' two cameras on the back versus three on other variants (though there appears to be a depth sensor), and it wouldn't have flashy features like a curved display. Given the name, we'd also expect a lower-cost processor and other sacrifices.

Samsung's smaller Galaxy S11e might pack more cameras, too

Samsung's Galaxy S10e is clearly a compromise between its smaller screen and 'just' two rear cameras, but its follow-up might be more appealing. Hot on the heels of a purported leak for the full-size Galaxy S11, OnLeaks and Pricebaba have posted renders of what they say is the S11e. It would have a slightly larger 6.2- to 6.3-inch display (complete with a centered camera hole) while remaining relatively compact, but the star of the show would be the back. The S11e would have an iPhone 11- or Pixel 4-style camera bump with three rear cameras. There don't appear to be extra sensors for depth or other features, but you might not have to be picky about shot types like you do with the S10e.

Reputed leaker @onleaks has unveiled new renders of Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S11 that show the selfie camera shifted from the right side to the center. The images, created by 91 Mobile, also show a new rear camera array, a screen that's more curved than the Galaxy S10, new button positions and more. The renders are based on a "very reliable and first level industry source," according to @onleaks.

Early OnePlus 8 leak hints at hole-punch display and wireless charging

The OnePlus 7T isn't even shipping yet, but that isn't stopping leaks about its inevitable sequel. Well-known tipster OnLeaks and CashKaro have posted what they say are renders of the OnePlus 8 based on schematics from a "company insider." The design suggests OnePlus is going back to a more conventional design on the back, but that it'll make some potentially welcome changes everywhere else. The 8 would have a roughly 6.5-inch curved display with a hole-punch spot for the camera, rather than the notch of the 7T or the pop-up selfie cam of the 7 Pro. It certainly wouldn't be the most original design, but it might represent an aesthetic upgrade from the 'plain' 7T.

Mystery Motorola phone could pack four rear cameras

You might not have to spring for a premium-priced flagship to get a smartphone with an abundance of cameras. Well-known tipster OnLeaks and CashKaro have shared renders and details of a mystery device they say is a future Motorola device with four rear cameras. It's not certain just what those cameras would do, but a "48MP" label suggests that Motorola will either have a main 48-megapixel sensor or combine multiple 12-megapixel sensors like you see on the Nokia 9 PureView.
