Amazon will build more Whole Foods stores to expand Prime Now
Amazon hasn't been shy about using Whole Foods stores to hawk its own wares, but now it's apparently building stores with that primarily in mind. Wall Street Journal sources have learned that the internet giant aims to build and enlarge Whole Foods locations around the US to put more people within reach of Prime Now's two-hour deliveries. The ultimate aim is to make Prime Now available at "nearly all" of Whole Foods' 475 US stores (plus new shops) where it's only available in slightly over 60 cities today.
Amazon tests checkout-free shopping for larger stores
Amazon's checkout-free Go stores might hint at the future of retail, but they're small locations that aren't much good if you need more than lunch or a bag of chips. You might see more soon, though. Wall Street Journal sources say Amazon is testing a version of its computer vision-based shopping technology for larger stores. It's not certain how close the company might be to trying this in the real world (it's currently running in a Seattle space "formatted like a big store"). It won't shock you to hear where the tech might go if it's successful, however.
Amazon and Whole Foods extend Prime deals to Thanksgiving turkeys
From live Christmas trees to its annual Black Friday smorgasbord, Amazon is trying to cover all the bases this holiday season. And it hasn't forgotten Thanksgiving. Once again, it's offering select Turkey deals through November 22 at Whole Foods. An organic bird for your annual feast will set you back $3.49/lb, while an antibiotic-free gobbler costs $2.49/lb -- and Prime members can save an extra 50 cents per lb on both, along with savings on other festive foods like cranberries and broths.
Amazon cuts Whole Foods pickup time to 30 minutes
It's not quite as efficient as a drive-through, but Amazon's Whole Foods delivery service is well on its way there. Today, the e-commerce company announced that Prime Now subscribers in the US will be able to collect their groceries from Whole Foods within a 30 minute timespan, without ever leaving their vehicle.
The next stop for Whole Foods delivery is NYC
Amazon is expanding its Whole Foods Delivery service to five new cities. Prime Now subscribers in New York City, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach and Long Island will be able to sift through a variety of dairy, meat, everyday staples and seafood options.
Amazon may send holiday toy catalogs in the mail
Toys 'R' Us is calling it quits in the US, but Amazon is apparently ready to pick up the slack. Bloomberg tipsters have asserted that Amazon is planning to mail a holiday toy catalog to "millions" of American homes and (naturally) distribute it at Whole Foods Market stores. There's no mention of how Amazon might spin the familiar formula, but you can presume there won't be any talks of retail locations.
Amazon's biggest Prime Day sale starts on July 16th
If you're in the market for an Alexa-enabled product, it'll soon be the time to buy. Amazon says this year's Prime Day, starting on July 16th, is its biggest ever, with double the deals on its own devices and $100 off Echo Show. There will be more than one million other deals up for grabs, too -- so many that Amazon has extended the sale to 36 hours (compared to last year's 30).
Amazon brings Whole Foods delivery to Chicago and four more cities
Amazon's Whole Foods delivery service still covers a relatively small area, but it's seemingly growing by the moment. The internet giant has expanded the Prime-based grocery deliveries to Chicago, Houston, Indianapolis, Minneapolis and San Antonio, theoretically giving millions extra-quick access to produce, meat, everyday food and "select" alcohol. As before, delivery is available between 8AM and 10PM and shouldn't cost extra if you're ordering at least $35. You can spend $8 if you need your food within an hour.
Amazon expands Prime discounts to all Whole Foods stores this week
Earlier this year, Amazon began offering Whole Foods discounts to Prime members and it has been expanding that program to more states over recent weeks. Today, the company announced that all Whole Foods and Whole Foods 365 stores will offer discounts for Prime members starting Wednesday. Amazon Prime subscribers will get an extra 10 percent off of sale items marked with a special yellow tag and larger discounts on certain products marked with a blue "Prime Member Deal" label.
Amazon brings Prime discounts at Whole Foods to 10 more states
Amazon's marketing modus operandi is to convince everyone to sign up to its $119 annual Prime Membership, and it's using that strategy to the max with its Whole Foods acquisition. The organic grocery chain is offering discounts to Prime members in ten more states, bringing the total to 23, nearly half the union. Henceforth, denizens of Arizona, Hawaii, and Washington and seven other states can get yellowfin tuna for $9 off per pound, or two Annie's Natural Macaroni & Cheeses for the price of one, instead of paying full price like non-Prime rabble.
Amazon brings Whole Food discounts to a dozen extra states
Amazon isn't holding anything back in its crusade to integrate Whole Foods into its brand offering. Since acquiring the chain in August last year, Amazon has been lavishing a range of grocery deals and discounts on its Prime members, and today it's opening up its benefits further still. Prime members at Whole Foods Market stores in 12 additional states, and at all Whole Foods Market 365 stores, will now be able to use their subscription to scoop up extra bargains.
Amazon launches special Whole Foods discounts for Prime members
From the looks of things, free two-hour shipping is but one of many, many Whole Foods perks Amazon is giving Prime members -- something subscribers deserve, considering Prime's 20 percent price increase. The e-commerce giant has just announced two new benefits for its subscribers: an additional 10 percent discount off sale items and deep discounts on select best-selling items every week. To take advantage of the discounts, Prime members have to physically go to a Whole Foods location and find the yellow 10 percent off and the blue special deal signs. They then have to scan the Prime code found in the Whole Foods Market app -- it'll appear so long as they sign in using their Prime credentials -- when they check out.
Amazon expands Whole Foods delivery to Atlanta and San Francisco
Last month, Amazon launched its Whole Foods delivery service, allowing Prime members in some Austin, Cincinnati, Dallas and Virginia Beach neighborhoods to order Whole Foods groceries through Prime Now and have them delivered within two hours. Today, Amazon announced that the service has expanded to select areas of Atlanta and San Francisco. Customers in those regions can order produce, bakery items, dairy, meat, seafood, flowers and everyday staples through Prime Now. San Francisco customers can also order alcohol through the service.
Amazon will reward Prime members for shopping at Whole Foods
Amazon has announced that its Rewards Visa will now offer users the same level of reward when they shop at Whole Foods as they receive at Amazon itself. Eligible Prime members will now receive a flat five percent bonus on all purchases at Whole Foods, just as they do online. By comparison, shopping beyond Amazon's universe will net you two percent back at restaurants, gas stations and drugstores, and a single percent elsewhere.

Over the past few months, Amazon slowly but surely helped people get used to the idea that it now owns Whole Foods by hawking its wares in the chain's stores. Amazon Treasure Trucks are hawking their wares at Whole Foods
Amazon's attempts to pitch its own brand at Whole Foods will clearly extend well beyond pop-up stores. The internet retailer has announced that its deal-serving Treasure Trucks are starting to appear at "various" Whole Foods Market stores across the US, giving you a chance to pick up discounted products (ordered through the Amazon mobile app) while you're shopping for produce.
