CBS All Access just gave nostalgia-seekers something to watch this weekend. As promised, the streaming service has released a version of Jordan Peele's The Twilight Zone series in black and white. It's an homage to the 1959 show, of course, but it should also add a sinister edge to scenes that previously felt too... well, colorful.

When The Good Fight debuted on CBS All Access, it became the streaming service's first exclusive show. It's kept audiences hooked since 2017 and was recently renewed for a fourth season. Now, season one is coming to CBS, meaning you'll be able to view the first episodes without an All Access subscription.

CBS has offered the first real peek at its upcoming Star Trek: Picard series with a minute-long teaser trailer. It doesn't offer much in the way of detail beyond a look at some vineyards, a case of Chateau Picard wine and a noticeably older Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart). It seems as though he's leading a peaceful lifestyle, but there's almost zero chance Picard's world will stay that way for long.

'Star Trek' Picard spin-off will hit Amazon for global streaming

You'll have an opportunity to watch CBS' Jean-Luc Picard series outside of North America -- if you're willing to subscribe to Amazon, that is. CBS has revealed that the Star Trek production will be a Prime Video exclusive outside of the US and Canada, with episodes appearing within a day of their US premieres. That's likely to make things complicated for international fans, unfortunately. When Star Trek: Discovery is only available on Netflix in those markets, you'll have to subscribe to two services to keep up.

Just seven weeks after rolling out iOS 12.2, Apple has released iOS 12.3. The biggest update this time around is a major refresh of the TV app ahead of the Apple TV+ streaming service debuting later this year. Through the new-look app, you can subscribe to various TV networks through Apple TV Channels and watch their shows all in one place.

It's not often that streaming services are willing to release new versions of their shows to cater to fans, but CBS All Access is willing to make an exception. It's launching a black-and-white version of Jordan Peele's The Twilight Zone on May 30th to cater to fans who wished the show harkened back to the look of the original. It shouldn't alter the actual content, but it might help if watching in color feels like a crime.

CBS All Access announced today that it's renewing The Twilight Zone for a second season. That's not entirely surprising given that the show is co-produced by Jordan Peele and that it attracted the streaming service's most premiere-day views when it debuted on April 1st. But the commitment is significant, considering that many CBS All Access shows are still in their first seasons.

CBS All Access is showing serious interest in keeping One Day at a Time alive. According to Vulture, the streaming service has sent Sony an official bid for the sitcom to pick up where Netflix left off and keep it going for at least one more season. Sony has been in talks with several outlets ever since the show's cancellation in March, but interested parties have likely been hesitant to send in serious offers due to the deal it signed with Netflix. Apparently, Netflix can veto the sitcom's move to a rival streaming platform for two years after its cancellation. In other words, the CBS All Access offer might not lead to a revival at all.

Star Trek: Discovery has been a hit for CBS All Access, so it's not a huge surprise that the show has been renewed for a third season. The show will continue into 2020 and with a new co-showrunner. Michelle Paradise, who joined Discovery during the second season, will do the job along with Alex Kurtzman, who is also overseeing the expansion of the Star Trek franchise at CBS All Access.

With cord-cutting on the rise, it seems there's enough room at the table for more internet-only services. CBS is now reporting that its streaming platforms, CBS All Access and Showtime, reach 8 million subscribers -- up 60 percent from the 5 million reported last year. The number is split evenly between the two, marking a four-fold increase from July 2016. Like its counterparts, CBS is spending big on originals, including high-profile genre and cult fare like CBS All Access exclusives Star Trek Discovery and The Twilight Zone and Showtime's Twin Peaks. And its strategy is paying off, with the company boasting it hit streaming targets two years ahead of schedule.

CBS All Access has tapped Lucy Liu to play one of the lead characters in Why Women Kill. The streaming service ordered the dramedy series by the creator of Desperate Housewives late last year, adding it to its growing roster of originals that include Star Trek: Discovery and Jordan Peele's Twilight Zone reboot.

CBS All Access is getting a quartet of Star Trek: Discovery preludes to tide you over until the show's return in early 2019. Star Trek: Short Treks is comprised of four standalone episodes, described as "short stories", each focusing on a different character or theme from the franchise's bulging universe.

CBS just announced its earnings for 2014, including $3.68 billion in revenue for Q4 (all those episodes of NCIS pay off, apparently), but its always-talkative CEO Les Moonves provided most of the interesting information. According to the NY Post's Clair Atkinson, he has confirmed that CBS has a deal with Sony to be on its new internet TV service PlayStation Vue, saying "they're paying more than everyone else" for the privilege. That probably explains why the $20 per month Sling TV is missing the network channels -- for now, "there's a path to negotiation" according to Moonves -- and why Vue may end up being more expensive.

  • CBS launches its own TV-streaming service for $6 a month

Less than a day after HBO finally promised to let users cut out the middleman, CBS has decided to do the same. The company is launching CBS All Access, which charges $6 a month to stream new episodes of its shows the day after broadcast. You'll be able to stream 15 of its prime-time shows in this way, including big hits like NCIS and The Big Bang Theory as well as 6,500 episodes of classic TV from the CBS back catalog as a sweetener. That'll enable you to binge down on classic shows like, uhm, MacGyver and I Love Lucy whenever and wherever you want. The platform will also enable you to watch the live streams from the Big Brother house when that show returns next year, which seems like an adequate apology after CBS helped kill off Aereo.
