bluDANGLE makes wireless earpieces a little less wireless
What's cooler than wearing your Bluetooth headset wherever you go? Wearing it clipped to a lanyard wherever you go, that's what -- especially when that lanyard is made from 8 inches of 25 pound tensile strength magcord (i.e. elastic). That's the power of bluDANGLE, a curiously capitalized name for what is basically just a clip that turns your wireless device into a wired one, swinging in the breeze whenever you're not actually making a call. Normally we celebrate any attempt that encourages people to remove their earpieces when not in use, but we're not entirely sure having the thing dangling from your lapel is any less pretentious (check out the vid below and you tell us). 1st-gen iPod nano lanyards work with new "fatty" nanos
In case you were wondering, the old lanyards for the 1st-gen iPod nanos work with the current 3rd-gen (aka "fatty" or "video") nanos. Apple moved the dock connection and headphone port away from each other in the 2nd-gen nanos, thus ruining the party for a lot of 3rd-party accessory manufacturers. But now all is well again, unless you just despise the look and shape of the new nano, of course.And before a wiseacre chimes in with "slow news day, huh?" we'll be honest and say, that yes, it IS a slow news day. Apple has an event next week, which generally means a quiet period beforehand. So until someone sends us pictures of Steve Wozniak showing Larry the Cable Guy a magic trick, we're just going to have to deal with a fairly sparse day of posting.[thanks to moo for the Woz link and Atariboy for the lanyard tip]

You know, even Thanko can ignite a bright spark now and again. Here we have the Thanko USB neckstrap which brings 512MB to your MP3 player or cellphone's lanyard. Sure it's not for everyone but for all those crazy kids flauntin' their high tech wares up front, well, why not for the ¥4,680 or about $41 bucks it'll cost ya? Orbino: hand stitched leather iPod cases
I have never heard of Orbino until today, and I'm becoming perplexed as to why. They make what look like stellar hand stitched leather cases for all three of the current model iPods, offering a choice of styles, colors and unique clip and lanyard designs. Quickly browsing through their site, it looks like most of their cases run a respectable $39, which is a good price for a leather case (*ahem* Apple) that actually lets you use the iPod while it's wrapped up.Check out Orbino's offering, and if any of y'all TUAW readers have already snagged one, feel free to post your thoughts.

The Pod Jams iDiddy fashion covers for the iPod nano come in two styles: Clear and Bling. Clear, as you might imagine, allows the true beauty of the nano to shine through while still protecting it in plastic. Bling (pictured) steps up the flashy style by encasing your nano in a diamond-like sparkling plastic case. Both of these iDiddy's come with an iLanyard, similar to Apple's lanyard, boasting superior earbuds that "pound out the base and highs." Fortunately these cases can be used with or without the lanyard.At a competitive $29.95, it's nice to see more lanyard style cases cropping up.
