Amazon Prime Video finally introduces viewer profiles
It might have taken years, but Amazon Prime Video is finally ready to offer something you might take for granted on Netflix and other services: multiple profiles for a single account. NDTV and XDA have noticed that you can now add five additional profiles to your Prime Video account on top of a primary default profile, including Kid's Profiles that restrict content to material suitable for children 12 and under. You no longer have to juggle your recommendations with those of your partner, or worry that your young ones will watch Hunters.
Craig Kaths' intricate synth sculptures look real enough to play
Recently, I spent the afternoon traipsing through the streets of Brooklyn for Gowanus' annual open art studios tour. It's a yearly ritual for me because the industrial neighborhood, which is full of warehouses turned CrossFit gyms, is a veritable playground for creative types. Every abandoned-looking building opens its doors to reveal dozens of artists' studios.

Facebook makes an even bigger deal of your 'Life Events'
Big milestones deserve big announcements, which is why Facebook is giving its Life Events feature a revamp. Previously, when you added a Life Event such as an engagement, new job or birth of a child (or anything you deem noteworthy enough), you could choose an icon to represent the significance of your update. Now, you can include photos and videos, too. Don't have a photo? Facebook will let you include animated art instead, or the profile photos of people and pages involved in the post.

It added that Watch Parties have been rolling out to individuals' profiles as well and the feature is now available globally as of today.
Twitter tweaks profiles in iOS app to emphasize names and bios
If you've glanced at your Twitter profile lately and noticed your follower number has shrunk (in terms of text size, at least), you're probably not just seeing things. That's because Twitter has tweaked how profiles appear in its iOS app to place more focus on names and bios. A spokesperson told Engadget the company reduced the font size and spacing on details such as follower and followed account numbers, locations, join dates, birthdays and mutual follows.
Netflix profile icons are getting a facelift
With all the money Netflix is spending on new shows, for awhile it's overlooked a small detail we all encounter before watching. The service's profile icons are soon getting a long overdue update, going from the flat minimalist versions that have been around for the last five years, to slightly embellished editions starting today. The aviator sunglasses and mustache (my personal favorite, and second most-popular among Netflix users) has gold-hued aviators now and black facial hair now, for example.
Signal adds encrypted profiles to beta chat app
Signal, the encrypted chat app preferred by the US Senate, has finally launched profiles -- but only as part of its latest beta release. You can now add a photo and a display name to make group chats less confusing. But since this is Signal we're talking about, it's not as straightforward as other apps': your photo and name, like your messages, are end-to-end encrypted.
Hulu will let you download shows 'in a few months'
Hulu isn't going to let Netflix have show downloads all to itself. Company chief Mike Hopkins tells AdWeek that you'll have the option of downloading shows "in a few months." The online video service isn't talking details at this point, to no one's surprise, but that's largely because things are still in flux. It's still hashing out the technology, Hopkins says, and it needs to get licensing rights "squared away."
