'Avengers Endgame' demands to be seen in IMAX (no spoilers!)

After seeing Avengers Endgame in IMAX, I kicked myself for not doing the same for Infinity War. The technical advantages are clear: IMAX screens are much larger than normal theaters, especially if you're lucky enough to have access to a full-sized IMAX. And while we've seen the format used before for action sequences in blockbusters, Avengers Infinity War and Endgame are the first to be shot entirely with IMAX cameras. So, unlike The Dark Knight, they don't awkwardly jump between multiple aspect ratios. They're always super-sized, offering up to a 26 percent larger image than traditional widescreen theaters -- all the better to see Marvel's heroes finally smack down Thanos.

There's a Thanos-themed Easter egg hiding in Google Search

Got a few seconds to spare? Open the Google homepage and search for "Thanos." Then, click the Infinity Gauntlet that appears in the supervillain's Knowledge Graph card. As 9to5Google and others have spotted, the armored glove will snap for a hot-second and then, inevitably, eradicate half the search results. It's a neat little Easter egg that's been added, no doubt, to mark the theatrical release of Avengers: Endgame. And if you grow tired of staring at a half-empty page, you can click the gauntlet once more to trigger the Time Stone and put everything back to normal. Thanos must be serious about "perfectly balanced" search algorithms.

Legend has it that you must be truly worthy to be able to wield Thor's hammer, but thanks to Epic Games, all you actually need is a free copy of Fortnite Battle Royale. That's right, with Avengers: Endgame finally hitting theaters, the online shooter is hosting another Marvel-themed crossover. You'll be asked to either help Thanos and his Chitauri invade the island and find the six Infinity Stones or wield the MCU's most powerful weapons in an attempt to stop him.

Epic Games is again linking up with the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the developer has teased a Fortnite and Avengers: Endgame crossover. We don't know many details yet, other than a start date of April 25th, the same day the movie hits theaters, and that it might have something to do with Captain America's shield.

The footage reveals some significant plot details, and GIFs, screenshots and descriptions (none of which we're sharing here) are spreading across the likes of Twitter and Reddit.

You won't have to wait until the fall for more news on Pixel devices. Google has posted a teaser promising that "something big is coming to the Pixel universe" on May 7th. The associated video clip is ultimately just a promo for Avengers: Endgame-themed AR stickers, but there's clearly something more to it than that. Most bets are on Google unveiling its mid-range Pixel 3a phones.

Disney has a number of Marvel Cinematic Universe-adjacent shows in the works for its upcoming streaming platform, and it seems one of them is a limited Hawkeye series starring Jeremy Renner. The Disney+ show is reportedly an adventure series featuring Clint Barton (Renner) and Kate Bishop, a character from Marvel Comics who takes over the Hawkeye persona from him.

If you were hoping to snag Avengers: Endgame tickets in a snap when pre-sales opened this morning, you might have been dismayed to see error messages or long wait times on ticket sites. Many of those trying to make sure they can see the Marvel blockbuster as soon as possible were greeted with error codes on several ticket sites in the US, UK and Canada (including AMC and Cineplex), while others were faced with virtual lines of more than an hour and other problems.

Ever since the premiere of Avengers: Infinity War, there's been a looming question: when is it coming to Netflix? Right in time for some holiday viewing, it seems. Netflix has revealed that the star-studded superhero flick will be available to stream on December 25th. Yes, you too can pay tribute to Stan Lee while you're recovering from the family feast. Just be sure to put your blinders on if you haven't seen the movie yet -- this is a Marvel title that can easily be ruined if you're not careful.

Spoilers ahead for Avengers: Infinity War. Thanos isn't your usual Marvel nemesis. Then again, even after 19 films in Disney's superhero universe, it's not as if he's had much strong competition. Aside from the puckish Loki and tragic Killmonger, most Marvel villains have been pretty forgettable. Now, after years of buildup (we first caught a glimpse of Thanos in 2012's The Avengers), he finally took center stage in this summer's Avengers: Infinity War, which is now available on Blu-ray and digital.

LittleBits is back with another kit designed to teach kids about electronics and coding. Following Infinity War and Ant-Man and the Wasp, the startup has partnered with Marvel on an Avengers-themed gauntlet set. It ships with nine colorful 'bits,' which are fully compatible with every other Lego-like module LittleBit has released to date. As with previous kits, they're color-coded by function -- the light sensor, for instance, is pink (input) while the circular LED matrix is green (output). They all snap together magnetically and can be placed inside a superhero-inspired sleeve.

Thanos subreddit culling is not the typical online fan movement

Online communities are a beautiful thing. Not only are they places for you to squee about beloved characters and plot twists on your favorite shows, but they're also powerful forces that can change storylines and resurrect beloved franchises. But one online community has no desire to get anything done. The Thanos subreddit just wants to pretend it's part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, however (faux) suicidal that might be.

It looks like OnePlus went all out designing the Avengers-themed OnePlus 6. Unlike its Star Wars-branded older sibling, it got a lot more than a wallpaper and a barely visible logo on the back -- it features a Kevlar pattern under its back cover and a color scheme that works well with the golden Avengers emblem, OnePlus logo and mute button. The "Avengers Alliance" package also comes with a phone case in the shape of Iron Man's helmet, and a gold Avengers medallion in a box embossed with the team's recognizable "A" insignia.

OnePlus fans will be able to choose between the basic version of its upcoming flagship and a special model based on Avengers: Infinity War. While that's awesome news for Marvel fans, the bad news is that the Avengers-themed OnePlus 6 might only be available in India. According to Android Central, OnePlus India has inadvertently posted a teaser for the collaboration, which you can see in the image above. The phonemaker has now confirmed the team-up, which it says is a way to celebrate Marvel Studios' 10th anniversary and to strengthen its ties with Disney India.

Hasbro's new AR helmet puts you inside Iron Man's armor

Children love to role play, whether it's pretending to cook in a toy kitchen or swinging plastic swords at each other in the backyard. But lately, more than just about anything else, kids want to be superheroes. To help, toy companies like Hasbro sell costumes, weapons and other props so kids can live out their Captain America and Iron Man fantasies. But a plastic shield will only take you so far: It can't give you super strength or speed, and you certainly can't throw it at bad guys and have it return to your hands afterward. But Iron Man's a little different, since so much of his power is tied up in the suit. His armor enables him to fly, blast enemies and view the world through its informative heads-up display. The latter element is what Hasbro's new Hero Vision Iron Man AR helmet aims to imitate, using a phone to display its own custom HUD so kids can feel like they're really wearing the armored Avenger's suit.

Madefire's digital comic book platform is a good way to spice up stories that you may have read countless times, but its catalog has always had a conspicuous gap: namely, there were no Marvel comics. That ends today. Madefire has added Marvel to its collection, giving you the likes of The Avengers, Black Panther and X-Men through its Android, iOS, Windows and TV apps. There's no mention of taking advantage of Madefire's pseudo-3D Motion Book format, but having access is clearly the big deal here. You don't have to switch apps when you're ready to jump from Wonder Woman to Squirrel Girl.

If you've got a VR headset, you've probably noticed that finding compelling virtual experiences isn't as easy as it could be. Disney is hoping to fix that, at least for its own properties, with its new VR app on Steam. It puts all of the company's virtual offerings -- including experiences for Star Wars, The Avengers and The Jungle Book -- in a single location. And best of all, it's free and compatible with both the HTC Vive (which runs SteamVR) and the Oculus Rift.

To cater for fans who don't want to purchase digital downloads or Blu-rays, Disney launched its own streaming service called DisneyLife. For £10 a month, UK subscribers can watch a huge selection of Disney movies and TV shows, stream music and download books and apps. However, since its debut in November, the service has yet to include anything from the company's other big subsidiaries, like Marvel and Lucasfilm. Luckily, that's set to change on April 18th, when DisneyLife becomes home to Star Wars Rebels and a handful of animated Marvel book and animated shows.
