Canon confirms that its 8K EOS R5 camera is not 'a fantasy'
I had no reason to doubt that Canon's upcoming EOS R5 camera would feature 8K video and up to 20 fps shooting speeds, but apparently some folks were skeptical. That's why the company has issued an unusual press release in Australia that aims to "shut down speculation that some of its revolutionary specifications are 'a fantasy,'" it wrote. Canon also revealed a few more details about how the autofocus and 8K video will work.

Apple has a plan to ensure iOS 13's buggy launch doesn't happen again
Apple is reportedly changing the way it tests new versions of iOS and iPadOS. According to Bloomberg, the company will now work on test versions, or "daily builds," with incomplete and bug-riddled features turned off by default. Internal testers will be able to turn them back on, however, through a new section of the settings app called Flags. In theory, this will help the company to identify when a newly-added feature or line of code isn't working properly, and issue a fix before it's accessible to external developers and customers. We've reached out to Apple to confirm the new development strategy and will update this piece if they respond.
Canon's EOS 1D X Mark III will be a technological tour de force

Autofocus will be more accurate than ever thanks to a new AF sensor with 28 times the resolution in the center of the frame when you use the optical viewfinder. In live view mode, you'll have 525 phase detect AF pixels powered by Canon's Dual Pixel system. Autofocus will also be more stable and track subjects better thanks to new algorithms and AI technology.

Nearly three years after ethical smartphone company Fairphone launched its Fairphone 2 handset, the Dutch social enterprise has announced it's now compatible with Android 7.1.2, aka Nougat. This might seem like old news, given that most smartphones are now munching on Android Pie, but the time and money spent upgrading the phone to even this level is indicative of the sustainability challenges still prevalent in the smartphone market.

Bungie’s ‘Destiny 2’ roadmap is designed to win back players
Destiny 2 fans haven't given Bungie an easy ride. Hobbyist developers will make $30 million via 'Roblox' this year
Roblox has exploded over the past two years. It's not quite a game and not quite a development platform, allowing players to boot up millions of user-made projects, or create their own games and immediately publish them across all supported platforms. In September 2015, Roblox Corporation was happy to report it had 6 million monthly players, most of them between the ages of 15 and 22, across PC, Mac, iOS and Android. Hundreds of developers were bringing in at least $250 a month selling items and upgrades in their Roblox games, and the ecosystem overall generated $2.5 million for creators. Yes, that's real-life money.
