Einride recently revealed its revamped autonomous delivery truck, which is more aerodynamic than the previous version. To give a glimpse of the Pod in action, the Einride team put the AV through its paces on the Top Gear track in Surrey, England. The video perhaps doesn’t have the glossy production that Top Gear fans are used to, but it provides a solid look at the Pod in motion. It also shows that on straights, the Pod can travel at over 80 km/h — that’s the typical speed limit for heavy goods vehicles in the European Union.

Finding the shows you want to stream is about to get more complicated in the coming months as some big-name companies launch their own services to take on the likes of Hulu and Netflix. Among them is WarnerMedia, and when HBO Max arrives next spring, you may have to start using that platform if you're a Whovian eager for your Time Lord fix.

It's a scary day for both The Grand Tour viewers and the motoring world at large. Amazon has revealed that show co-host Richard Hammond was involved in a crash while filming Grand Tour's second season in Switzerland. Hammond thankfully escaped with only a fractured knee, but the incident destroyed the Rimac Concept One electric supercar he was driving (the photo above shows what's left). While it's not certain what led to the crash, Amazon notes that there was no one else embroiled in the incident.

If you've been missing Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, then it's time to mark your calendar. The old Top Gear trio's new show is called The Grand Tour, and will begin streaming its episodes on November 18th. You'll need a subscription to Amazon Prime to watch, but there's no word on if or where it will air in countries where the subscription video service isn't available yet.

If you don't have a Prime subscription but want to check out some of Amazon's original series, you're in luck. The company has made ten pilot episodes from some of its best dramas, comedies, and kids' series free to watch on YouTube and Facebook for the first time ever. The lineup includes Amazon's most-streamed show, The Man in the High Castle, as well as Mozart in the Jungle and Transparent, both of which have won multiple Golden Globes.

'Top Gear' host Chris Evans bails after poor comeback ratings

After a single season at the helm, Chris Evans is stepping down from Top Gear. The presenter, which took over from Jeremy Clarkson and his fellow partners in crime, James May and Richard Hammond, said on Twitter: "(I) gave it my best show but sometimes that's not enough. The team are beyond brilliant, I wish them all the best." The latest series of Top Gear, which wrapped up last night in the UK, has been battered by low audience figures and scathing reviews, both from critics and fans. Replicating the success of the Clarkson era was always going to be difficult, however, when so much of the show's appeal was attributed to the old presenters.

If you've been weighing up an Amazon Prime subscription, now might be a good time to take the plunge. The Jeff Bezos empire has slashed the price of a one-year plan to £59, down from the usual £79. That's a sizeable saving and puts the subscription just under £5 per month in the UK. Amazon has dropped the price in order to draw attention to The Grand Tour, a new motoring show that debuts on Prime Video this autumn with Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond at the helm. You'll need to be quick though - the Prime discount ends at midnight on May 16th.

At last, the new motoring show from Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond has a name: The Grand Tour. The former Top Gear trio signed for Amazon last July with the promise of more automobile adventures. We've known for some time that it would debut on Prime Video this fall, with at least three seasons premiering over as many years. But there's never been a name -- something Clarkson and the gang have frequently poked fun at -- until now. Notably, The Grand Tour can be condensed to TGT or GT, an acronym similar to Top Gear's own TG.

Later this year, there'll be two brand new motoring shows on our screens: Top Gear, led by Chris Evans, and an original Amazon series fronted by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. That would normally be enough for any pertrolhead, but the BBC has found a little more room for some extra programming. Today, the Beeb announced that it will launch an online-only spinoff called Extra Gear, which will be hosted by Top Gear presenter Rory Reid and feature behind-the-scenes footage, interviews and "specially-recorded films" that aren't in the main show.

With an Amazon series well underway, Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond are turning their attention to other projects. As Variety reports, they've teamed up with entrepreneur Ernesto Shcmitt and Top Gear executive producer Andy Wilman to build a community-driven motoring site. It's called DriveTribe and will launch this fall with a team of 20 full-time employees. The specifics are a little woolly, but the idea is that each "tribe" will be managed by a celebrity, writer or filmer like the Clarkson crew, creating and curating content for their fellow motorheads.

  • Netflix bags rights to new 'Top Gear'

Netflix was recently said to be discussing rights to the new series of Top Gear with the BBC, and as it turns out, a deal has indeed been struck. Top brass at the streaming service confirmed as much to BuzzFeed News, though the finer details are pretty fuzzy right now. The fact the two hashed out an agreement isn't a huge surprise. Older seasons of the motoring show (when Clarkson was at the helm) have been available on the streaming service for some time, so it wasn't like a presenter shuffle was going to destroy the working relationship Netflix and the BBC had built.

The BBC is still filming the next season of Top Gear, but to get fans excited it's taken some time out and put together a short teaser trailer. As you would expect, it's a minute of pure motoring adrenaline, with plenty of exotic cars and jaw-dropping cinematography. Top Gear host Chris Evans and Hollywood actor Matt LeBlanc take center stage, although racing car driver Sabine Schmitz also makes an appearance towards the end. It's hard to judge a show based on 60 seconds of footage, but here's one obvious takeaway: the show's budget and production values are still sky high.

If Amazon is to be the home of new, new Top Gear, then it's only fitting Netflix gets its hands on new, old Top Gear, right? The Guardian reports that Netflix is "in the early stages" of discussing a deal with the BBC for certain streaming rights to the Top Gear reboot, which'll be hosted by a six-strong team that includes Chris Evans, motorsport veteran Eddie Jordan and Joey from Friends.

At last, we know who will be standing alongside Chris Evans for the highly anticipated Top Gear reboot. Former Friends star Matt LeBlanc had already been confirmed, but now we've got another four faces to divulge. Motorsport pundit Eddie Jordan joins from the BBC's Formula 1 team, while Rory Reid comes across from Recombu Cars -- his career highlights include this impressive rap review for the Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II. Joining them are German racing driver Sabine Schmitz, best known for her white-knuckle lap of the Nurburgring in a van, and Chris Harris, a successful motoring journalist that now runs his own YouTube channel.

While Clarkson, May and Hammond develop a new motoring show for Amazon, the BBC is working on its biggest Top Gear reboot in years. Presenter Chris Evans (no, not Captain America) is taking over Clarkson's role and revealed last weekend exactly when the first episode will be airing. Well, sort of. During the BBC's live Saturday Kitchen show he said it would be broadcast on Sunday, May 5th. Which would be fine, if May 5th wasn't actually a Thursday. Whoops. The Guardian seems to have cleared up the issue though, clarifying that filming will finish on May 5th before the first episode airs on May 8th.

It was quite a surprise when Amazon announced it had snapped up the Top Gear trio for a new show on Prime Instant Video. Many thought Netflix or Sky would win out, but now it's emerged that another unlikely player was bidding for Clarkson and friends: Apple. According to Variety, the company made "an unprecedented bid" for the stars after they left the BBC. Ultimately, however, it must have been turned down. If Apple is indeed preparing its own original programming, it would make sense that the three British presenters were at the top of its wish list. Now the ball is in Amazon's court; the company is desperate for a House of Cards-level hit, but aside from Transparent, it's failed to make much headway. On Clarkson's reputation alone, Bezos may finally get it with a Top Gear spiritual successor.

Amazon has announced that it's signed a deal with ousted Top Gear presenters Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond for a new motoring show. The stars of the popular BBC franchise left the program earlier this year when Clarkson was fired as a consequence of punching a producer. Almost instantly, rumors of the trio launching a rival with another broadcaster spread, with Netflix the surprise front-runner.

Like swerving bends and screaming "powerrr!" as much as you dislike electric vehicles? Imagine your delight, then, when you learn that Google and the BBC have teamed up to send one of the former's street view cars around Dunsfold Aerodrome -- more famously known as Top Gear's test track. As you zoom around the lap, you'll notice a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG popping up by your side, ably driven by the show's tame racing driver. Some say he's a clone of Justin Bieber gone right, and that he prefers to think of Dunsfold Aerodrome as the place where they shot the Miami Airport sequence of Casino Royale. All we know is that he's called The Stig.

After a long holiday weekend we have a few new things to look forward to including NCAA Football 14, season two of The Newsroom and the season premiere of Top Gear. Look below for the highlights this week, followed after the break by our weekly listing of what to look out for in TV, Blu-ray and videogames. The Bridge FX is debuting a new drama this week, as The Bridge follows cops from the US and Mexico on the trail of a serial killer. Similar to The Killing it's a remake of a foreign series, although that one featured Denmark and Sweden. Although AMC's show had its issues, after efforts like The Americans and Wilfred from FX we're willing to give this one a shot. (July 10th, FX, 10PM) Orange is the New Black Orange is the New Black debuts at 3:01 AM ET Thursday on Netflix in all regions, but it's already signed up for a second season on the streaming service. Fans of Showtime's Weeds may be looking forward to it the most, since both comedy-dramas were created by Jenji Kohan. Set in a women's prison, OITNB follows a new inmate sentenced to fifteen months for her part in moving drug money a decade earlier. We'll find out in a few days if Netflix has another hit on its hands, after that the next original series up should be Ricky Gervais' Derek.
