We already knew that the Switch's Pokémon: Let's Go Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let's Go Evee! would land alongside the Poké Ball Plus, but Nintendo is now trying to sweeten the deal. Each optional accessory will land with the mythical Pokémon Mew inside. Overpowered from the start? Well, that would depend on the stats, but a psychic Pokémon from the outset sounds great. The game (and peripheral) both land on November 16th. Follow all the latest news from E3 2018 here!

This is what makes us smile. Reader Olav sent us word this morning that the Norwegian post office switched its old logo (which we've placed after the break for reference) to something, he said, that "unmistakably looks like a pokéball." After checking it out, we believe Posten Norge's new symbol looks like the love child of a pokéball and the symbol from Bungie's Marathon.Coincidence, or conspiracy by some gamer in the art department?Source - Article about new post symbol (it's in Norwegian)Source - Norway Post in English[Thanks Olav]

Today's Dojo update reveals a new Pokemon in Deoxys. Not a new Pokemon, but rather a new Pokemon to Smash Bros Brawl. And, judging by the new screens in our gallery below, this Pokemon came to lay the smack down on some brawlers, as its Hyper Beam attack looks deadly. We can't wait to give our enemies a taste come December 3rd, that's for sure.%Gallery-3347%

  • Dojo update brings Poke Balls and music

The saga of the Smash Bros. Dojo is one we're all following, and will for quite some time we imagine, so the latest update revolving around Poke Balls and the critters that inhabit them should be no surprise to you. In Smash Bros. Melee, it was a deadly weapon that could bring forth any one of a number of lethal creatures and looks no different here.Sadly, they didn't reveal any new Pokemon aside from Pokemon Ruby cover creature Groudon. When unleashed from its Poke Ball, it will burn any player that gets close to it, kind of like a huge walking furnace. Of course, the one who summoned it won't be affected by it.Other than that, the site has updated with a new track of music. A remix to the end music from Yoshi's Story, the track was composed by long-time Nintendo composer Kazumi Totaka and Killer 7 composer Masafumi Takada. You can hear the track here.Check out images of Poke Balls in action, as well as some shots of Groudon in-game, in the gallery below.%Gallery-3347%

  • Penny Arcade discovers Pokemon, already knew how to curse

Here's something for the grown-up Pokémon fans: after checking out Pokémon Battle Revolution at the Nintendo Media Summit, Gabe and Tycho were struck by a sudden bout of Pokémania (the uncontrollable compulsion to be the very best, like no one ever was). They both became hooked on the latest DS Pokémon. As it turns out, they often draw comic strips about video games they enjoy playing. It's a hobby of theirs.Their resulting Penny Arcade strip, titled The Coming Apokélypse, illustrates the sadistic hatred that drives every Pokémon trainer to imprison and abuse his or her adorable little creatures. We recommend it for the more seasoned trainers out there (read: not children) because dropping F-bombs is another hobby in which Gabe and Tycho dabble.

Go Nintendo has posted some pictures and a Japanese commercial of the upcoming Pokemon Ranger. What's most interesting about the commercial is the way in which injured Pokemon are captured to be housed away in a small plastic ball and enslaved for all of eternity. Rather than simply lobbing a pokeball at said Pokemon, now the player is charged with circling the creature with the stylus as fast as they can, over and over, eventually ensnaring it for their own personal collection. Also, the commercial shows that the stylus will come into play in regards to solving environmental puzzles. We envision using Pikachu's electric powers to power electrical controls for gates and the like or commanding Charizard lay fiery waste to a downed tree blocking the path. These new mechanics, along with the tried-and-true formula of past Pokemon titles, is sure to excite.
