Paramount Pictures has released a Terminator: Dark Fate featurette at San Diego Comic-Con, showing an inside look at the making of what people are calling the true sequel to Terminator 2. While the franchise spawned three movies since the iconic flick, including the critically panned Terminator Genisys with Emilia Clarke, Dark Fate will serve as a soft reboot to the series and will directly follow the events of Judgment Day. James Cameron and team even got Linda Hamilton to reprise her role as Sarah Connor almost three decades after saying hasta la vista to the character.
'Cosmos: Possible Worlds' trailer explores alien life and butterflies
After the briefest of teases at the start of the year, Fox is ready to show Cosmos: Possible Worlds in earnest. The network has released an initial trailer that suggests Possible Worlds will follow the basic formula of the reborn series' first season while covering some decidedly different ground. As the name implies, there's a focus on extraterrestrial exploration and seemingly fantastical ideas. What would alien life be like, Neil deGrasse Tyson asks, and what are we doing to venture beyond Earth? There's even talk of exploring "paradoxical realities."
'Disenchantment' trailer reveals a fantasy land gone wrong
Netflix has finally offered more than a brief peek at Matt Groening's Disenchantment. The streaming service has posted the first full trailer for the animated series, and it's evident from the get-go that nothing in the fantasy genre is sacred here. The clip takes jabs at tropes like the royal wedding (Princess Bride, anyone?) and even Game of Thrones' best-known seat. You also get a better feel for characters beyond the roguish (but maturing) Bean. Elfo is hopelessly innocent, while Luci stands as Bean's literal and figurative personal demon.
Magic Leap signs content deal with comics giant Grant Morrison
Magic Leap has teamed up with Scotland-based Square Slice Studios, which was co-founded by comic book industry veteran Grant Morrison, to create content for its mixed reality headset. You might know the prolific writer for his work with Batman and All-Star Superman, as well as for creating the boundary-pushing sci-fi comics The Invisibles, among many other things. The studio will conjure up interactive experiences for the headset, though it has yet to reveal their exact nature. While we can probably expect some interactive comics, it's worth noting that Morrison co-founded the company with a number of other creatives, including Grand Theft Auto artist Stewart Waterson.
A live-action 'Stargirl' series is coming to DC's streaming service
When DC officially announced its own streaming service, we couldn't help but ask whether it could offer enough content to justify its $8-per-month pricing. For loyal fans, the price is probably worth it, because in addition to old Batman animated shows and movies, it will serve as the exclusive home to the comic giant's originals. DC's Geoff Johns has revealed one of those originals during his spotlight panel at SDCC 2018: a live-action series based on teen superhero Stargirl.

Game of Thrones is one of the most beloved, watched and pirated TV shows in recent history, but it's not the only George R. R. Martin tale being adapted for the small screen. The author's sci-fi horror novella Nightflyers was first published in 1980 before being turned into a movie later that decade, and now a new TV adaptation airing this fall on Syfy in the US and Netflix in other regions. A brief teaser for the show's first, ten-episode season caught our attention a few months ago, and now we have a full trailer that debuted at this year's San Diego Comic-Con to sink our teeth into.

Oculus' Marvel Rift bundle lets you play as Hulk and Wolverine
When it comes to releasing VR game bundles, Sony is miles ahead of Oculus. But if you're not a console gamer and have only been waiting for Oculus to come up with a bundle of its own, then we hope you have a few hundred to spare. The studio has launched a special edition Rift + Touch package with Marvel Powers United VR for $399, the same price you'd pay for one with an Oculus headset, a pair of sensors and a pair of controllers without the game.
'Iron Fist' season two hits Netflix on September 7th
As Netflix readies its next onslaught of original TV shows and movies, we finally have a premiere date for another season of Marvel action. Iron Fist season two dropped a Comic-Con adjacent teaser trailer to announce that, following Luke Cage season two, it will debut September 7th. At just under a minute long we can't tell if it points to any significant upgrades from the character's previous appearances, but as a Netflix/Marvel series we're assuming there will be punches in a hallway once again. Mark your calendars appropriately.
'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' to return on Disney's streaming service
The original run of Star Wars: The Clone Wars ended after five seasons and a bundle of "Lost Missions" episodes on Netflix, but now the CGI series is coming back. Today at Comic-Con supervising director Dave Filoni made a surprise announcement that a new 12-episode season will arrive on Disney's upcoming streaming service, complete with the poster above and a brief trailer. Disney CEO Bob Iger had promised a "few" Star Wars series in development for the new service, and now it's clear that this is one, joining a live-action show from Jon Favreau. The (still-canon) Clone Wars makes sense, with a fan base already set up and a storyline ready to pick up after its main character has just left the Jedi Order. Entertainment Tonight notes that in 2014, one of the writers told a fan that scripts for season seven and eight were already written, but it remains to be seen how long the revival will last.
DC's streaming service will cost $8 per month
We've known for awhile now that DC Comics, home of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, was working on its own streaming service to house its TV shows and movies. Now, DC has released more details on the service. DC Universe will be priced at $75 per year or $8 per month. It will arrive this fall, and those interested can pre-order a subscription at DCUniverse.com.
BBC Studios really wants to know who leaked 'Doctor Who' footage
Someone recently leaked a clip from Doctor Who's latest season online, and now the BBC is asking California courts to help find the perpetrator. Why California? Because that's where Tapatalk, the message board app where the leaked footage was shared, is headquartered. BBC Studios said that it "will strive to protect our program-makers, audiences and license fee payers from any breaches of security -- ensure Doctor Who fans enjoy the final and fully completed version of the episode when it premieres."
A DC-themed Snapchat Lens could get you into Comic-Con
You're not completely hosed if you missed your chance to attend San Diego Comic-Con... if you're willing to dabble in some augmented reality art. Snap and DC Comics have launched a DC Super Heroes Challenge that asks you to create a DC-themed Lens championing Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman for the chance to win an expenses-paid trip to San Diego Comic-Con in July. You don't have to start completely from scratch, thankfully, as there's a load of DC assets to bring into Lens Studio.
'Westworld' season 2 trailer reveals a park gone horribly wrong
Westworld won't return to TV until 2018, but we're getting a peek at what that return will entail... and things have clearly gone downhill. A new trailer for the second season reveals that the robots are rebelling against the humans who've treated them so harshly (really, the core of the movie that inspired the show), and there are plenty of casualties among the guests and Delos employees. Dolores, William and other bots are clearly relishing the opportunity to get back at their tormentors. While it's going to be a frustratingly long wait for the rest of season two, HBO is at least giving us something to look forward to.
Latest 'Star Trek: Discovery' trailer shows more of the crew
No, CBS' much-delayed Star Trek: Discovery still isn't out yet, but you're at least getting a better look at how the streaming-focused series will play out. The broadcaster has released a hefty second trailer for the show that gives a better look at the USS Discovery's crew and the Klingons. It revolves around first officer Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green, above), and for good reason -- a San Diego Comic Con panel revealed that she's Spock's adoptive sister. She's clearly struggling with the contrast between Vulcan logic and the chaos she sees throughout the galaxy.

At last, Netflix is offering more than minuscule teasers for Stranger Things' second season. The service just premiered a full-length trailer for season 2, and it sheds much more light on what to expect. It reveals just how much Will is affected by the events of the first season (hint: a lot), the spread of the Upside Down in Hawkins and a peek at Eleven's long-expected return. And naturally, it ramps up the nostalgia factor: there's plenty of Ghostbusters references, Michael Jackson's "Thriller" to set the mood and even a smattering of Dragon's Lair. It's still too soon to say if the Stranger Things follow-up can come anywhere close to matching expectations by this point, but it's at least promising.

After no shortage of hype, Warner Bros. is finally ready to show what Steven Spielberg's take on Ready Player One is all about. The studio has released the first trailer for the adaptation of Ernest Cline's novel, and it's clear that the flick is playing up not just the book's disjunction between a dystopic real world and VR, but the endless references to pop culture of decades gone by. Some of them are patently obvious in the clip -- you'll see a famous time-traveling car and a certain giant robot -- but some are of the blink-and-you'll-miss-it variety. Take Duke Nukem in the epic battle above, for example.
