iBuyPower ships Core i7-powered Battalion 101 W870CU gaming laptop

You could certainly argue that many of today's gaming laptops are fungible, but if you're scouting a new beast with a Core i7 within and plenty of customizable options, iBuyPower has one of the few available today. The outfit has just launched its Battalion 101 W870CU, a 17.3-inch behemoth with a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution LCD, up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, a 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280 GPU, up to 500GB of hard drive space, an optional Blu-ray drive, built-in 7-in-1 card reader, gigabit Ethernet, WiFi and Windows 7 Home Premium. It's up for order as we speak, but you'll be coughing up at least $2,505 for the privilege. Or, you know, you could just snap up ASUS' Core i7-equipped G51J, which retails for just $1,499...

Maingear, CyberPower and iBuyPower gaming desktops pick up ATI Radeon HD 5870

ATI's Radeon HD 5870 GPU has already taken its rightful place within a few of Alienware's newest desktops, but as with most every major GPU launch, a few of the smaller guys are also taking the opportunity to offer gamers the option to pick one up inside of a new rig. Maingear's Ephex, F131, Prelude, and Dash can all be ordered up right now with the staggeringly potent graphics card, and if none of those suit your fancy, CyberPower would be more than happy to have your business. In fact, it has squeezed the DirectX 11-friendly GPU into the Gamer Xtreme 4200 (starts at $999), Gamer Xtreme 5200 (starts at $1,393) and the AMD-based Gamer Dragon 9500 (starting at $927). Still on the hunt? iBuyPower has an eerily similar trio, though their lineup starts at just $819. Hit the read links below if you feel like putting together a system for kicks, but don't blame us when the order button presses itself.

iBUYPOWER launches Core i7-packin' Paladin XLC desktops

Nearly a month to the day after iBUYPOWER launched its gamer-centric M865TU gaming laptop, the outfit has now given the desktop gamers in attendance something to consider. The liquid cooled Paladin XLC series is comprised of three well appointed models, the XLC V1, XLC V2 and XLC V3. All three of 'em are stored in the monstrous Coolermaster HAF 922 (the V3 gets a HAF 932), while even the lowest end model gets a Core i7-920 processor. Other specs include up to 12GB of DDR3 RAM, as many as three NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285 GPUs, upwards of 1TB of HDD space, optional Blu-ray support and Windows Vista Home Premium. The trifecta can be ordered now for $1,399, $2,159 or $4,299 in order of mention.

iBUYPOWER launches potent M865TU gaming laptop

Another day, another new one from iBUYPOWER. But this one's different, or so they tell us. You see, the M865TU is being hailed as the most powerful 15-inch gaming laptop ever, and considering that Alienware's M17x can't be included here, we'd argue these guys actually have an outside shot at being right. Within, you'll find a 2.93GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T9800, up to 4GB DDR3 memory, a 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 graphics card and a 15.6-inch WXGA (1,680 x 1,050) panel. It'll also ship with an eight-cell battery, 250GB HDD and a dual-layer DVD writer, and it's available now for as low as $1,499. Don't expect that "most powerful" label to apply to Mr. Base Configuration, though.

iBUYPOWER may not yet be a household name when it comes to gaming laptops, but its sure doing its darnedest to take on the likes of HP, Dell, Acer and ASUS with its totally respectable Battalion 101 CZ-10. This 15.6-inch lappie arrives with a 2.66GHz T9550 Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, ATI's 512MB Radeon HD 4650 GPU, a 500GB 5400RPM hard drive, 8x dual-layer DVD burner, a 6-cell battery and a WXGA (1,366 x 768) panel. You'll also find an HDMI output, three USB 2.0 sockets, a 2 megapixel webcam, inbuilt microphone, 3-in-1 card reader and a fingerprint scanner. Best of all, the outfit throws in its accidental damage protection plan, all for the completely reasonable asking price of $1,235. iBUYPOWER's Gamer Power 906 rig does Intel Quad-core for a bit over $700

Sure, there are endless desktop configurations out there and oodles of good deals, but we're still smitten with this particular setup from iBUYPOWER: the Gamer Power 906. Putting that name to good use, they've managed to toss together an Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 processor, NVIDIA 9600GT graphics with 1GB of RAM, a 500GB SATA hard drive and 4GB of system memory. There was even enough change left over for interior lighting -- and we all know about the direct correlation between ground effects for nerds and frags per minute. Available now for $710.

IBuyPower trots out GeForce 3D Vision-equipped desktops

IBuyPower's been on a pretty good roll of late with these new gaming desktops, and it's keeping things interesting with its latest two. Rather than just shoving the latest processors from AMD and Intel into the Gamer Fire 640 and Gamer Paladin F830 and calling it a day, it has thrown in a 22-inch Samsung SyncMaster LCD and NVIDIA's GeForce 3D Vision system with each rig. As for the Gamer Fire 640 specifically, it comes loaded with an AMD Phenom II X3 720 CPU, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 500GB hard drive, a GeForce 9800GTX+ (512MB), dual-layer DVD writer and Vista Home Premium 64-bit. The Paladin gets loaded with a Core i7 920, 6GB of memory, a Blu-ray drive and a GeForce GTX 260 GPU. Detailed specs (along with the full release) are just past the break, but if you're scouting base prices, they sit at $1,349 and $1,999 in order of mention.

IBuyPower dishes Dragon-based gaming desktops under $1,500

Yet again, IBuyPower is stepping out with a few new gaming rigs for the bargain-minded among us. The most recent duo to be outed by the company is the Gamer HAF 91B and the Gamer Fire, both of which are based on AMD's latest Dragon platform and Phenom II CPU. The former gets going at just $999 and includes the Phenom II X4 920 processor, 4GB of DDR2 RAM, a 500GB SATA II hard drive, a dual-layer DVD writer, ATI's 512MB Radeon HD 4850 graphics card, a CoolerMaster HAS 932 case and a 550-watt power supply. The more fiery sibling ups the ante with a Phenom II X4 940 CPU, a 750GB HDD, LG GGC-H20L Blu-ray drive and an NZXT Guardian 921 chassis. 'Course, you'll be paying $1,439 for that one, but either way you'll be keeping things below the evidently magical $1.5k mark. Order away, should you be so inclined. Full release is after the jump.

IBuyPower offers up sub-$2,000 AMD Quad FX rig, undercuts Intel

Alright, so you knew very well the micro-sized 4x4 was on the way in, and we even filled you in on the nitty gritty a bit earlier, but before all that silicon-based information can even sink in properly, IBuyPower is already dishing out a very tempting way to blow two grand (or much, much more). Hot off the manufacturing lines, you can get your very own AMD Quad FX-based machine for around $2,000, which is monumentally less than the first few systems we noticed packing Intel's oh-so-pricey QX6700 processor. Granted, the $2k version is relatively stripped down, especially compared to the souped-up Intel counterparts, but you can certainly max out that increasingly large spending limit if you try. The firm offers the FX-70 in the low-end flavor, while you can opt for the speedier FX-72 or FX-74 should you so desire, while complementing it with a kilowatt-draining 500+ watt power supply, 512MB to 2GB of RAM, your choice of NVIDIA graphics card, and a bevy of various sized HDDs. Considering the likely stagnant retail prices of this fresh chips, the overall pricing isn't too outrageous, but we all know how things will look just a few months down the road anyway.
