Audible is now testing ads in your audiobooks for some reason
Amazon-owned Audible has started putting ads in audiobooks, starting with a beta test for certain non-paying members. The ads will pop up in audiobooks, original content and podcasts, with a maximum limit of eight advertisements in a 24-hour period. The company has not indicated if the ads will eventually move to paying members or if an ad-based subscription tier is coming.

Audible will create the only audio version of Neil Gaiman's 'The Sandman'
Amazon might not have the streaming video adaptation of The Sandman, but it will have something for fans of Neil Gaiman's well-known graphic novels. Audible has announced that it's working on an "exclusive audio adaptation of The Sandman, with the first instalment due in summer 2020. Gaiman will serve as the narrator in addition to a creative director and executive producer, while Dirk Maggs (who led work on BBC versions of Neverwhere, Stardust and Good Omens) is adapting and directing the novels.

US book publishers sue Audible over AI-powered transcription (updated)
Several of the biggest book publishers in the US have launched a new lawsuit against Audible over a feature they say infringes on their copyright. Leading the suit are the so-called "Big Five" of US publishing: Hachette, HarperCollins, Macmillan, Penguin Random House and Simon & Schuster.
