'Dishonored' follow-up 'Deathloop' delayed to Q2 2021
The latest casualty is Deathloop, the next game from Arx Fatalis and Dishonored creator Arkane Lyon. The game was first announced at Bethesda's press conference last year. Then, last June, Arkane Lyon returned with a trailer that included some Dishonored-inspired stealth and powers.

PS4 game sales almost doubled during the pandemic
In its latest financial earnings, Sony reported that 91 million PS4 games were sold during the three-month period leading up to June 30th, 2020. In addition, PS Plus -- a subscription service that's required to play PS4 games online -- now stands at 44.9 million members, up from 41.5 million at the end of the last quarter. The company sold 1.9 million PS4 consoles during the three-month period, which is up from the previous quarter (1.4 million) but down 41 percent on the same quarter last year (3.2 million).

Sony's next PlayStation stream has 'no big PS5' announcements
In early June, we saw a ton of PS5 games and the first look at the console itself, but this time Sony says there are “no big PS5 announcements.” While there isn’t much on the docket for the PS5, Sony also said that it would have a “few” updates on third-party and indie PS5 games that were revealed in June.
Sony explains how PS4 accessories will work on PS5
First, let's get the old DualShock 4 out of the way: it'll work with PS4 games that are backwards compatible on the PS5, but it can't be used for next-gen video games. The reason, Sony explained in a blog post, is that many PS5 games will be using the "new technologies and features" offered by the DualSense controller, such as the adaptive triggers and 'haptic feedback' rumble.

Audeze's Penrose is a $250 wireless headset for audiophile gamers
Audeze has unveiled a wireless headset called Penrose, which features its planar magnetic driver technology and was designed with both console and PC gaming in mind. The Penrose is Audeze’s latest addition to a growing family of gaming headsets, including the Mobius, which is the first planar magnetic headset for gamers. Mobius blew us away when we tested it back in 2018, and while it’s still more affordable than similar headsets, it costs $100 more than the Penrose.
Konami scales back 'PES 2021' to focus on its next-gen engine
Konami is taking a different approach with its beloved Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) this year. Instead of a true sequel, the publisher is planning a smaller "streamlined offering" that includes some kind of "season update" content. The development team has made this decision so it can focus on a "next-generation title" that is undoubtedly bound for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. On its website, Konami revealed that it's being created with "an updated engine" that will allow for "staggering improvements to all areas of the game."

'NBA 2K21' comes with a next-gen upgrade... if you spend $100
If you want to play NBA 2K21 on two different console generations -- the PS4 and PS5, or the Xbox One and Series X -- it's going to cost you. The base game for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and Google’s Stadia streaming service will cost $59.99 when it launches on September 4th. 2K will also be selling a $99.99 Mamba Forever Edition, though, which comes with some special MyTeam and MyPlayers bonuses, as well as the Kobe Bryant Digital Collection and, if you pre-order, a couple of extras including the Damian Lillard Digital Collection.

Marvel's Avengers for PS4 and Xbox One include next-gen upgrades
Crystal Dynamics’ Marvel’s Avengers was supposed to be out by May 15th, but the developer had to delay its release by four months to fine-tune and polish the game. The good news is that Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix have just announced that if you buy the game for current consoles, you’ll be able to upgrade to the next-gen version at no additional cost. In a post on the PlayStation blog, Crystal Dynamics’ CTO Gary Snethen detailed how the developer has upgraded the game for the PS5.
