Pardon us a second while we fan away some of this sweat, but Sony Ericsson's C510 Kate is looking mighty, mighty fine. DailyMobile has graciously hosted up a gaggle of hands-on images, and we're not sure if it's the brushed aluminum or the brushed aluminum, but something about this thing definitely has a hold on us. Swoon over the images yourself -- they're waiting for ya right there in the read link.[Via SEMC Blog]

Mankind has never known a greater mystery than that of the true identity of "Kate." We knew it was a camera phone, manufactured by Sony Ericsson, and that it was part of the Cyber-shot line -- but beyond that all we had was speculation and innuendo. And here's some more! According to SEMC Blog, Kate -- officially known as the C510 -- should be available in roughly "two months." The camera sports a 2.2-inch QVGA display, 3.2-megapixel camera and 120MB on board storage. Also detailed were Filippa, a new Cybershot candybar, and Frances, its slider counterpart. Both of these phones feature 5-megapixel cameras with autofocus. There's no word yet on a release date, but knowing SE the information will trickle out... eventually. In the meantime, you'll have to make due with the specs we've included for you after the break.

Kudos, SE -- you've had our minds fixed on this elusive Cyber-shot candybar of yours for a solid half-month. We've now learned that the handset formerly known as Kate may actually be revealed as the Filippa, but we wouldn't be shocked to hear it referred to as the Kyliowooka next week. According to new images over at SEMC Blog, this here handset will indeed boast a 5-megapixel AF camera, video out, a 2.2-inch QVGA display, M2 card slot, 140MB of built-in memory and the ability to capture QVGA video. You'll also find a Xenon flash, face detection / smile shutter, HSUPA, an active lens cover and YouTube support. Now, if only we knew how legitimate all of this was...

  • Sony Ericsson's new Cyber-shot gets clearer, isn't Kate

Sony Ericsson's purported codenames are a source of endless amusement, because they 1) are virtually always feminine names, and 2) have zero bearing on the final product name. We'd heard that Sony Ericsson was prepping a new Cyber-shot candybar by the name of Kate, and now we're hearing that it's not Kate after all -- but really, it doesn't matter one way or another since it'll be a letter with three numbers after it by the time it launches. The important thing is that we're now seeing much better shots of the alleged 5-megapixel baddie with xenon flash, offering what'll probably be a modernized alternative to the K850. If Sony Ericsson doesn't cancel it first, that is.[Via SEMC Blog]

  • Leak Sauce: is this Sony Ericsson's new Cybershot "Kate"?

Now this is what we call a proper spy shot! While we can plainly make out Cybershot branding, nothing else is apparent as the photographer is seemingly attempting to capture the essence of blur and shake. Evidently Sony Ericsson's Kate is set to replace the K770 in the Cybershot line, though sadly, we lack any info about just what exactly its specs will be -- if, indeed, it's real. The folks at cellphonesail mention that it has a unique lens cover a la Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T2, and that's really all that is mentioned, though being a Cybershot, we can expect a decent cam. Typical of Sony Ericsson leaked sets, we'll likely start to see a flow of info in the near term as this is purportedly shipping in Q4 this year.[Via SEMC Blog]

  • Back to the Second Life Lost island

Reader Campetin was nice enough to send along some new movies of the Lost island recreated in Second Life. For some reason, we MMO fans are also big Lost fans -- maybe it has something to do with something that compels us to wander around places we don't understand (those 815ers should just raid the black smoke!), but whatever it is, a few folks in Second Life liked the show enough to completely recreate the island in a sim. This is actually the second iteration of the island, as the first was lost (how ironic), but this second one promises to be even busier: you can watch orientation films, chat with fans, or even push the button. But we need the rest of the island on there, if only so we can find out what the hell is up with that freaky statue.

Are you guys still here? Oh right, you are, because it's now our second day here on Massively, and yet our 24 hours of Tabula Rasa contests roll on.Did you know that Tabula Rasa isn't just a game? Oh no, it's a whole thesis (Latin: Blank Slate), and it means that humans are born with no innate knowledge, and that everything we know and think, we receive from the world we grow up in. Heavy. Also, it's the title of a great Lost episode (the one with the first Kate flashback), and so I took that fact as an excuse to post a picture of Evangeline Lilly. Hi, Kate!Anyway, contest! This one's good -- we're giving away an NCsoft digital voice recorder (whoah, just like Ben uses to contact Juliet on Lost! It all fits!), a poster, and another one of our ever popular oversized game boxes. To enter, put a comment on this post (and be in the US and 18 or older -- official rules here) and tell us who your favorite Lost character is.Make sure to comment before 1AM EST, though, because right about then, we'll have another non-Lost related contest. Thanks for visiting Massively!
